I wish I liked cats they look so cute and furry on here... Smile

Long week then Girlie. 30 hours and your DD on your own is full on. Fair play to you.

The chicken broth continues and fed DS and DH tonight, with at least 2 portions left. It's a MN broth..

DD and me had the following - Baked 3 red peppers in the oven, halved and deseeded. Stuffed them with sliced garlic, halloumi, the top of asparagus spears, some chopped chorizo, and ripped up bits of crusty bread left from last night. Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a small amount of sugar (less than a teaspoon), garlic pepper (make sure the bread is nicely drenched). Bake in the oven covered for half and hour, uncovered for half and hour and serve with a rocket salad. Yum.

I've also agreed to RUN the 3 peaks next May for charity Smile 26 miles up 3 mountains. Mind over matter challenge Grin.

8FencingWire · 04/11/2016 20:34

Girlie, what's the problem with the radiators?

SnugglySnerd · 04/11/2016 20:43

Agreed, Wreck, I am also keeping warm under a sleeping cat!
Thanks for all those great ideas, Cag. Horrible Histories is a great idea and I love those 3D puzzles of landmarks. Will have a look online tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2016 20:48

ememem84 · 04/11/2016 21:50

Thanks guys. Lovely evening. Pizza and beers. And I'm now in bed. Finishing beer. classy bird me

work has been left at work. The boss has been told not to bother me on Monday or Tuesday unless it's an actual emergency.

Looking forward to a proper sleep.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/11/2016 22:12

8 the ones downstairs won't seem to come on, no idea why or if its a thermostat or radiator issue. Have emailed someone who was recommended to me so hoping he might pop out next week. I rang the housing people and they said because the house was a year old on the 15th of October its no longer anything to do with them Hmm Angry annoying.

Thanks Need it is hard going at times, feel a bit sorry for dd sometimes as I just want to come home from work and flop in the evenings as well as do all the boring housework stuff so she doesn't really get the best of me during the week. That said we fell out tonight as she uttered the words 'I won't go to bed and you can't make me' Grin so she has lost her hudl for the wend!! She stropped off to bed muttering 'you're so annoying' hee hee!!

Am taking both cats to the vets tomorrow as girl cat has a bald leg and boy cat needs a general diabetic review

Does anyone have experience of Heelies? Wondering about getting them for dd as a Christmas present, are they worth the money?!

isthatmorelego · 05/11/2016 00:24

NSD here but after cag showed the chemistry set its in my Amazon basket but its home Ed things so doesn't count as Xmas we have a monthly budget for home Ed events /purchases

8FencingWire · 05/11/2016 03:33

Girlie, the one in my bedroom wasn't turned on, it was hot up to the pipe thing, then the rest was stone cold. I unscrewed the white knob, opened it and then it was ok. That I learnt from youtube.
My DD never wanted wheelies, so no experience.

CathodeRayTube · 05/11/2016 05:29

Girlie my ds really wanted heelies last Christmas but only told me afterwards. I think he's forgotten. I will listen to your replies with interest.

mammymammyIRL · 05/11/2016 05:42

Aargh alarm just went off AngrySadAngrySad

WreckTangled · 05/11/2016 05:49

I don't know about heelies either.

Bloody cat woke ds up at 4:30.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/11/2016 06:02

Whose stupid idea was working on a Saturday, 7am start.

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 07:33

Cat woke us up at 3. Pawing and crying at the bedroom door. I opened it to let her in.
She then bounced about for an hour. And has scratched my laundry basket (it's a wicker basket so not a huge deal but still....)

Riding today. £25

SnugglySnerd · 05/11/2016 07:46

Cat woke us all up at 6, don't think he's adjusted to the clocks changing yet.
We have a workman coming round today so DH is taking DD to soft play to keep her out of his way. I'm staying in to do some housework and school work - what an exciting day! Should be a cheap day though, the work is already paid for.

mammymammyIRL · 05/11/2016 07:51

Our heating won't be fixed until Monday eve at earliest. I'm debating taking dc to swimming just to get a proper wash, could go to dsd next door but we used to live there and I hated the trickle of water there!!

Probably just top up solar heated water with kettles in the bath.

allthebestplease · 05/11/2016 08:20

Have you blew all radiators, changed te radiator valves?

Lidl are doing winter clothes and coats for a good price I got dcs winter coats for £10 and theyre perfect.

Ive school work to do later and will just go to the park today to save money.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/11/2016 08:29

Girlie Have you posted in property? PigletJohn might know what to do.

The boiler manufacturer will have a helpline too.

NSD yesterday, and my shepherds freindly money came back & I got a £10 JL voucher.

Pound stretcher later.

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 08:32

I've just ordered brushed Cotten winter bedding from Amazon. Proper hygge. Dh will probably hate it but I don't care

£35 for king duvet &2 pillows and a fitted sheet.

Still not bought any clothes!! Yesterday was an absolute shocker and I was in such a foul mood at lunchtime I wanted to shop. I stomped around town for a bit and browsed in shops but because if the mood I was in I hated everything. I wanted new pjs so went to fat face. Nothing in my size. So they were declared stupid too.

Currently enjoying a mug of earl grey in bed. Windows are open the sun is shining and the sky is blue. It look chilly out there.

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 08:33

Oh. This is the bedding.

BOO! The Freaky Frugaleers prepare for Halloween and beyond. All welcome!
mammymammyIRL · 05/11/2016 08:57

Bedding looks lovely em I really need new bedding. Bought a kingsize duvet last year sometime and only have one set so it gets washed and put on the bed again that night, so proper ragged now, it was a poor quality set to start with.

Well done on not buying clothes!

We got a wedding invite for a friday in Dec this week. It's dh's friend so his decision. I don't have holiday time, but I'm working today and probably a few hours next few saturdays so that can be converted to holiday time. I think we should go to it, take a half day and just not go to church, which I don't like skipping either. We can still attend afters regardless though. Will leave it up to him.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/11/2016 09:17

8 thanks, radiators are totally new to me as had storage heaters before, no idea how to bleed radiators will have a look on youtube for ideas! My next door neighbour is an electrician and I did ask hm to pop over and have a look but not seen him again, now the evenings are so dark everyone is in hibernation mode I think!

Lovely bedding em looks so cosy!

I'm still in bed, love a lazy Saturday morning Smile my boy cat came up for cuddles as well, will have to get up soon to take dd riding but a few more minutes will be o.kay.............

CathodeRayTube · 05/11/2016 09:50

Girlie if the radiator gets hot at the bottom and is still cold at the top then the radiator needs bled. It just mean it has a bubble of air at the top that is stopping the water from circulating properly in the system. You get a special key and turn it in the hole at the top on one end of the radiator, and a bunch of air and then boiling water squirts out. Then the problem is solved. Good luck!

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 10:03

Mummyshortlegz · 05/11/2016 10:17

£57 in aldi, that includes a Christmas magazine for me, a magazine for wilf and lots of bars of chocolate to use to make truffles for presents for people.

Cagliostro · 05/11/2016 10:52

Lego please could you tell me more about your home ed budget? As in what's included etc? I really need to implement something like this. I am terrible for overspending on educational stuff.

No prob Snuggly TBH any excuse to talk Christmas pressies is always welcome :o

Re: Heeleys, TBH I wouldn't. It's a personal beef of mine, I just really hate them! What's the point? Rollerblades are better (and cheaper) :o
