Asda have a half price toy sale on at the mo.

Need I saw that Jack Wills rucksack for £50 in Boots last week and thought it looked good, but if it is now discounted, even better!

Cagliostro · 05/11/2016 11:27

Looks great, Wreck.
I might have been wrong about it being a cheap day, we might go out and look for a chest of drawers or tv stand for the living room.
Now we've started getting a few things done in the house I want to do more and get in all sorted!

Wildernesstips · 05/11/2016 12:15

Wow Wreck, that looks gorgeous. Enjoy yourself!

mammymammyIRL · 05/11/2016 13:12

Aldi spends €60 odd half groceries half stuff for ds's party. €10 on gift card for party dd is attending tomo.

Decided to forgo my weekly paper as I've the last few weeks magazines from it unread & also I've lots of emmerdale to catch up with on my sky box before they cut me off Smile

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 13:56

Riding done. I want to buy a flask. Or a really good insulating travel mug. Any recommendations?

I want to be able to have a lovely hot tea when I'm done being outside with the ponies.

Ideally it should be able to fit in my handbag and not spill and keep things warm for a good few hours.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/11/2016 14:32

I would say a small flask would be better than a travel mug.
£60 shopping for food.
Nice bed clothes. I could do with some. Might go to matalan with my 25% off voucher.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/11/2016 16:49

Do you have a Go Outdoors near you Em? I got one there for not too much money that has been brilliant.

Its been freezing all day here, although I should be washing up I am instead under two blankets on the sofa! The radiators feel stone cold all over so maybe its not that Sad such a pain.

Has been a busy and spendy day in the end, riding was £15, then went to Lidls and got a ton of food for £30 Grin

Then this afternoon took both cats to the vets, boycat is still covered by insurance so didn't cost me anything but girlcat was £42! That said we have some new medication to try her with so thats good.

Also had a frank conversation about boycat, I said I was worried that we still don't have good control (diabetic) and the vet said its likely he will either end up with kidney failure or the nerves in his back legs going Sad got a bit tearful but said if that does happen would def PTS as he has been through so much already and it just wouldn't be fair to let him suffer. Hopefully got a few more years with him yet though.

Haven't felt brilliant all day not sure if its IBS playing up but stomach has been awful, also feel tired and a bit achey, might not make it to the discount village tomorrow after all.

Will drag myself out to fireworks though as dd wants to go and need to pick some sparklers up.

Needastrongone · 05/11/2016 16:52

Laughing at 'your'e so annoying' Girlie. I would have ignored but grinned secretly to myself Smile

Lovely bedding Em. I think a flask would be better too. We had a Thermos one last year which I will find the link for which was fab. Got from Amazon. Not the cheapest, but piping hot liquid pretty much all day.

Your hair looks stunning Wreck. Enjoy your day.

Spends today changed a little Smile as I took a trip to A&E. Me!! I've never ill. I basically got some insect bite last on my legs last week at ParkRun that swelled and got redder and spread all week. This morning my whole lower leg was swollen up and weeping. Strong antibiotics and paracetamol for the fever. Our GP doesn't open weekends, hated going to A&E but they said actually we made the right call.

So £8 for prescription and £6 parking and £4 for a sandwich.

I've got the DC slaving for me now doing all the chores and bringing me drinks!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/11/2016 17:07

Get well soon need.
Lovely hair wreck, hope the wedding is going good.

Fab cake Mammy.

Em, it's much cheaper on Amazon but I'm signed into my account, so didn't want to post that link. Not cheaper, but I bought a cheap Tesco one before I bought this and it last 2 weeks.

I'm not great with this resting lark. I'm already pissed off...

Needastrongone · 05/11/2016 17:35

*I meant it's expensive, sorry!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/11/2016 17:44

Fab bake mammy

£9.40 on take out.

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 17:49

Thanks need now back to resting.

girlie nope no go outdoors here. We have blacks (I think - it was millets) and a locally owned cook store. There was a locally owned camping/ski/outdoors place but it closed a couple of weeks ago.

allthebestplease · 05/11/2016 17:51

Love the cake, yum.
And hair looks amazing, wish I had long hair again. I might grow it again, not sure if I can stand the in between stage.
I'm on my own tonight as not very well so dh has taken dcs to a friends firework night. Am loving the peace and quiet.

I bought no clothes for me or the family last month and am going to try and do a whole 6 months without purchasing a single thing. Let's hope dc don't grow Smile I will at least aim to be frugal myself, so that's my challenge.

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 18:00

mammy great cake!!!

all I've just. Priced how long my hair has gotten. I dug my ghds out and have straightened my hair to within an inch of its life. It is now mid boob length. Smile

Am off out for dinner tonight. So have to put on my happy face. This will mean a lot of make up!! Haha!

I've spent my afternoon napping and watching how to get away with murder on Netflix and eating twiglets. I bloody love twiglets

ememem84 · 05/11/2016 18:01

*noticed. I've just noticed how long my hair is. Not priced. I'm not selling it.

Clearly my nails are too long to be typing on my phone....

Cagliostro · 05/11/2016 20:07

I'm still behind on the thread, but just reading a few pages back about the whole GP/illness/absence thing. I agree definitely write it all down to get a pattern. My boss did this as part of the absence management thing. We realised most of my sick days were Wednesdays. Now at first glance she said it looked bad, like I was deliberately missing that day for some reason Hmm :( (not that I'm bitter or anything).

But thinking about it further we realised the real cause of the pattern. Monday I would always struggle in no matter what - DH never worked Sundays then so it was always an easier day for me, and on Mondays I didn't start til nearly 3pm so I would be able to psych myself up to get ready for work by then. But it was a late shift which was always the hardest for me due to different tasks (packing for the van collection etc). So on Monday nights I was always in epic pain, and due to the way my illness works, that would carry over for a couple of days, to my next shift which was Wednesday, so I would be less likely to be able to work.

Obviously this won't apply to everyone but it's really worth looking deeper into any patterns that appear in illness because it could be something seemingly insignificant that actually causes the symptoms to increase, or make you more prone to bugs etc.

It wasn't really spotted by work as my cycle is more like 5 weeks than 4, but for me I am far more likely to have to cancel lessons etc now if I'm on my period as well because it always triggers a flare up - even though my illness is not gynae related or even hormonal, it's the combination of it that can cause relapse. So another thing to think about really.

Wow, great cake!
Hope you get better quickly, Need, that sounds like cellulitis which can get really nasty, you did the right thing going to a&e.
Actually ended up as an NSD as DD chose the park instead of soft play and we didn't see any furniture we liked.
Feel like I'm getting a cold, hoping it's just because I've been outside watching fireworks. It is properly cold today!
