I got an email from vouchercloud or something saying 'now that the payday weekend is here..' What?!!! Let's celebrate getting paid by spending the lot. Nice. (Don't mind me, I'm grumpy).

Obviously, my darling child got wind of it and has asked to go shopping this weekend. She's outgrown most of her clothes. And shoes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/02/2016 07:07

Shoeaholics do the same thing. Mind you I don't complain when it's free postage.

£45 a week for food is good Green

Southern fried chicken worked brilliantly but kitchen still smells of oil despite cleaning with sugar soap and putting the dishwasher on straightaway. I think frying outside is the way to go. Or in the garage.

babsmam · 26/02/2016 07:36

Gorgeous ring need.
Hello Mary and shut.
Collie careful you don't get slapped with unpaid DD fees , check that out too.
BrewCake to poorly fruglisters

Ememem84 · 26/02/2016 07:37

Have emailed fat face to get the vat back on my jacket. So there's £17 ish which should be back in my account in the next few days.

ipsos I can't believe how hairdressers get away with charging so much. Mine costs £45 for a cut and blow dry which is why I don't go very often. I've always been tempted to go to the local college and get it done by a trainee. But they only do appointments during the week during the day and it's too far from work to go at lunch.

babsmam · 26/02/2016 07:41

You can never be too careful with head to injuries. Although apparently it's better to egg out with the swelling rather than internally.

Pointlessfan · 26/02/2016 08:00

Off sick again :-( Have coughed all night and can barely speak today.

Going to stay in the warm and read/watch tv and probably have a steamy bath.

At least it's pay day.

Sorry to hear you are poorly too ipsos. How are you today, babs? Any better? How is girlie's DD?

colliepirate · 26/02/2016 08:00

My direct debit to Scottish Power has been reduced to £66. Grin phew!!

NSD. QuidCo just paid me a few pounds and now we have £10 to last the weekend.

I forgot to mention that we popped to Sainsbury's last night for 4 pints of milk and sweet potato fries which came to £2.50. And we just used some Nectar Points to pay for it so it was technically free.

babsmam · 26/02/2016 10:31

My eye is no better but thanks for asking.
Frugal win, just saved £50 on our legoland holiday as the hotel have closed the pool which is one of the reasons we booked. Rang Lego and we got our first choice hotel, which didn't have availability before and it's £50 cheaper. Result

Girlfriend36 · 26/02/2016 10:52

Hi thankyou all for your concern Smile have kept her off school today as wanted to keep an eye on her plus its my day off so no childcare issues the bump has gone down over night but the wound above her nose looks horrible Sad

Anyway on other news - its pay day Wooooo Hoooooo!! Managed to stay in the black - just! Going into town in a min, need to get dd some new school trousers and a black top for WBD - am going to attempt to make a black cat costume for her!

babsmam · 26/02/2016 10:58

Good news on the DD collie.
Pleased girlie DD is feeling better.

Pointlessfan · 26/02/2016 11:21

Have spent £1.98 on two trashy novels on Kindle daily deals to cheer myself up!
girlie I was devastated when DD cut her face last year, it also looked horrendous. I'm amazed how quickly it healed and is fading and the doctor said that the scar will stay the same size as she grows so it'll be tiny in the future. Plus my mum pointed out she'll be able to cover it with make up when she's older. I know how you feel though it's awful when they hurt themselves.
Thought those antibiotics would have kicked in by now babs. Hope you are not too uncomfortable.

Ipsos · 26/02/2016 11:31

I was thinking that too Em. I've no idea why they cost so much. I keep thinking that I should find someone local who can come to the house. They are always a lot cheaper and maybe over time I could get to know someone well enough to get the hairdo to come out right. :-)

I'm a bit better today, thanks Pointless. It's a weird one this. Just a tiny bit of a temperature and not much else to report. Dh had it last week. I'm just putting my feet up a bit as I've been run ragged recently and was due a stop. Sorry to hear that you're under the weather too.

I'm having a nds today I think. I have sold a bunch of stuff on ebay too, so that was good. Wrapping a flame gun to go in the post was interesting. :-)

supermariossister · 26/02/2016 11:36

hope dd is recovering well at home and you are both enjoying the day together best you can, its horrible when they hurt themselves like that.

Ds was worse again this morning dp asked him why he had lied to me about having had breakfast so he could play his game and ds just turned full away from him and screamed. I honestly wouldnt be suprised if soon dp doesnt want to be here because ds is treating him horribly and ive no idea why other than he just likes getting his own way.

babsmam · 26/02/2016 12:21

Ah super that sounds rough.

NK5BM3 · 26/02/2016 12:38

Checking in ! Thanks for starting new thread.

Working from home today and of course ds is ill. Got a phone call from school saying he'd vomited.

Tomorrows his birthday party. Argh.

Got approved for a sainsburys cc. 25 months 0% - found it on moneysaving expert. So I can buy my fireplace!! And maybe pay for summer holiday. I'm so knackered.

Ememem84 · 26/02/2016 12:43

Hope everyone is recovering!

Have just been for a lunchtime walk. It's cold but the sun is shining here. B e a utiful.

Walked all round the marina. So much going on today. Really need to start walking more at lunchtime instead of just wandering about the shops.

Spends today £4 on a bacon roll and a mug of tea on the harbour. Proper builders caff innit. Proper mug of proper builders tea and a proper greasy as anything buttery white bread roll. The paper bag went see through. So bad. But so good.

Sat on a bench and looked at the boats while I stuffed it in my mouth. very unladylike

CallMeMeMe · 26/02/2016 13:18

I've been lurking a while but after a depressing look at the finances yesterday we need to get our spending under control so here I am... Hello!

In theory we (me, DH and 3 DCs) should be reasonably comfortable but our spending is way out of control and worse still we don't seem to have too much to show for it Blush.
I used to be on top of everything but suffered from ante-natal and post-natal depression with my twins (now 18m) and let everything slide. Need to get back on track!

babsmam · 26/02/2016 13:20

Hello call me. Welcome.

babsmam · 26/02/2016 13:21

Em that sounds like heaven.

God I'm bored

Pointlessfan · 26/02/2016 13:43

Welcome callme!

Lovetoknit · 26/02/2016 13:44

Few days off and already 5 pages of new thread Smile
Welcome all the newbies and Chocolate and Flowers for anyone who is poorly
Sorry to hear about your dd girlie hope she is better today
Sounds perfect em

Another busy week on top of not feeling well after dc brought home more germs from school, feel like going back to bed rather then trying to work
£12 at Asda and £12 at Griggs for chicken food and dog brush
Had no power this morning so had to use torch to wake dc up and candles in the kitchen, came back on after 10. It's very windy and raining, hopefully we won't loose it again.

Whataboutnodetox · 26/02/2016 13:55

Em that sounds amazing I'm drooling.

£2.08 sending off my passport declaration

£45 on Amazon on new baby bottles and tests and some other bits.

£45 sainsvury shop.

£145 on half term of preschool

Must be payday!

colliepirate · 26/02/2016 14:04

Awww our payday is on Monday

Em that sounds beautiful! I'm just at Trago Mills looking out at sea and drizzle. Drooling over Dick Stein fish n chips! But had lunch at home.

Trago is shit! Ha!! But its shelter from the rain. Grin

Whataboutnodetox · 26/02/2016 14:07

Is dick related to Rick 😅😅

Girlfriend36 · 26/02/2016 14:15

Been into town this morning.

Spends
£2 parking
£5 in Greggs on lunch for dd and cup of tea for me.
£34.99 - new boots! These are my bargain of the year so far Grin so pleased with them, they were reduced from £90. Will try and get a picture to show you later.
£9 in Primark, got dd a black top for WBD (£2.50) several new pairs of thick socks and some hair clips for dd.
Also picked up the clothes I ordered online for dd in Mountain WareHouse, she liked them all so thats good. I really rate their kids clothes for value and quality.

Not too bad all in all, dd flagging now and having a lie down.
