Welcome Mary!

Collie that's ridiculous Angry I would cancel the direct debit too.

colliepirate · 25/02/2016 20:23

I just refreshed "my account" in the desktop mode on the browser and it shows a grap (not available on the mobile site). the new direct debit is based on "likely usage". It even says my monthly direct debit would be around £60 per month based on actual usage
Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2016 20:28

Right, so they're basing it on last years figures.

Need your ring is gorgeous. I think it's easier to spend on loved ones. Dhs birthday whiskey will be £60, there is no way on gods green earth I'd spend that on alcohol for myself.

needastrongone · 25/02/2016 20:32

Scottish Power are on my 'twat register', from previous experience, along with BT.

Thanks Fluffy, it was the level of thought and detail he put into choosing the stones and the actual designs and secret meetings and all that touched me the most. I need it insuring to be fair and my hands need a bloody good cream Smile

I am such a cantankerous old cow too Grin

shutupandshop · 25/02/2016 20:38

Can I join? Really need to get my act together with finances.

Its been a very spendy day today as paid deposit on new ensuites, nearly £3k. Worth it as currently have ni useable showers in a 1 bathroom, 2 ensuite house.Hmm

CremeEggThief · 25/02/2016 20:44

Beautiful ring, Need.

Oh dear, more poorly Frugaleers Sad. Hope you feel better soon.Chocolate

Welcome to more newbies. We're very pleased to have youSmile.

Collie, could you ring for clarification first? I know you shouldn't have to chase them up, but it might put your mind more at ease.

need the ring is gorgeous

needastrongone · 25/02/2016 20:59

Thank you. I think DH might also have done some consultancy work, as I know the cost of the ring but it's not come out of our accounts. This is the man who usually does all his shopping on Christmas Eve...

Welcome shutup.

Girlfriend36 · 25/02/2016 21:04

Hi all blimey I miss a day and you are 4 pages into a new thread Shock

We have decamped to my mums due to all the work on the bathroom, its looking good though so hopefully home tomorrow.

Dd had a nasty incident involving her head and a brick wall at school today, they rang me at work and I was quite shocked when I saw her - huge egg on her forehead and laceration above her nose. Spent 3 hours in a&e to be told they think she is fine and they can't do much with the laceration as there is too much skin loss. Just need to keep an eye on her for next day or two as risk of delayed concussion.

Anyhow spends have been minimal although todays incident cost £5.90 parking (Angry) and a couple of quid on a cup of tea and emergency chocolate!

colliepirate · 25/02/2016 21:05

Yeah will definitely call them tomorrow. We're in a new build and we have less than 9 months history on the account so its easy to see that we've never consumed that much energy before.

I think seeing a 3 figure Direct Debit amount was truly scary. Grin

Chocolate stuffing my face with chocolate now Chocolate

colliepirate · 25/02/2016 21:07

Oh my goodness girlie. Poor little lady. Hope she's going to be OK Flowers x

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2016 21:08

Will it scar Girlie? Poor girl.

needastrongone · 25/02/2016 21:08

Oh Girlie I hope DD is ok. Better to safe than sorry though re A&E with bump to the head.

Girlfriend36 · 25/02/2016 21:11

The Dr mentioned it might scar fluffy Sad right in the middle if her face so not great but will have to wait and see.

Thanks Collie have just seen your post about SP, I am with them as well - they have done that to me as well! My DD has gone from £64 a month to £94 a month! I would ring then as generally if you threaten to leave they quickly do some recalculating and they miraculously drop the DD.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2016 21:19

Oh no girlie poor dd at least you're skilled in dressings Smile

I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. Humph.

AdoraBell · 25/02/2016 21:21

Lovely ring need

Babs hope your eye improves.

Welcome to all newbies

Can't catch up ATM, DH and DD are ranting going on about cars across me.

Spent £6.40-ish, of DH's money so hardly counts Wink on fish and chips while DH was in B&Q. He now gets their special over 60's discount on Wednesday's but couldn't get there yesterday. He is rather chuffed about getting a special discount card Grin

On my MSE email there is a link to a freebie No7 without spending a fortune, I'll see if they have a navy nail varnish Grin

Thanks for the new thread Thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2016 21:43

What does he want? Porsche?

Pointlessfan · 25/02/2016 22:01

Oh no, girlie hope she's ok. DD did something similar. The doctor got us massaging plain moisturizer into it once it had scabbed over, twice a day. The scar has faded loads already.
Welcome shutup and mary and welcome back fuzz, great news about your new pupil.

needastrongone · 25/02/2016 22:09

Girlie, I know it's a bit different on the face but when DH had the skin cancer thing, the scar on his hand was massive. Consultant said, plain Vaseline, twice a day, massaged in would be best thing you can do.

Ipsos · 25/02/2016 22:17

Hello! I've been running around madly here trying to be super-Mum and have finally ground to a halt as I've picked up the high temperature virus that's going around here. So I'm banished to the spare bed now and stopping for a bit.

I've been trying very hard money wise all this last while. Not buying things when I'm tempted and working a bit too hard probably at my writing. I've managed to earn £384 from writing in the last fortnight, which honestly feels like miracle. I didn't think I could ever get that kind of job again.

I went and got my hair cut today because having cut hair seems to be really important in making a good impression at the school gate. It was £41 which made my eyes water, but good to be presentable for the school teachers.

Also £13 on writing practise books for ds in The Works. Smile He likes those.

I hope all is going well there. The ring is lovely Need. Well done your dh. :-)

Hope things are okay Fuzz. Brew

Ipsos · 25/02/2016 22:19

Ooo! And I moved some money to a fixed rate savings account which was good, and gets it a bit of interest. The man said that we no longer need to notify the building society if we are not tax payers He says that soon everyone will receive their interest gross anyway, and it is then our responsibility to then report those earning to the HMRC. Yay!

Whataboutnodetox · 25/02/2016 22:36

NSD today, pay day tomorrow thankfully. I have got to go and post my letter to the passport office recorded so that will be a few pounds. Off to mse to look at the boots offer..

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 26/02/2016 00:05

need that ring is beautiful. What is it with all these bugs going around, they just don't seem to clear up. Hope your dd's bump goes down overnight girlie.

Spendy, like I was before, today - don't know what comes over me.
Asda was £52, of which I needed about £15 of. Branded stuff called (50p soup and ambrosia, and all the dc's favourite crisps were on offer) - but who am I kidding, I didn't need to spend all that.
£32 in pets at home, £6 on bugs - needed, new lead for small dog and a cool led collar light for big dog, not needed really.
£37 in b&q on led lights. We are slowly replacing all the lights in the house, these were for the shower and dd2&3 room, so thats 5 halogen bulbs gone.

Need to sleep as ds nodded off at 5pm and is still asleep. He will be up by about 3 I'm guessing, as he only sleeps a max of 10hrs, and he had no tea.

GreenGoth89 · 26/02/2016 00:33

Spent £90 for 2 weeks shopping online today, not happy but £30 was fruit and veg. No brands, mostly basics but we have run down everything. Need to save up so I can pay 3 more months of my uni fees and hope we can have enough for a moving van and a bit of paint for our new place!

Ememem84 · 26/02/2016 06:53

Should be a LSD today. We are being treated to dinner out tonight by parents as they are going away for a few weeks.

I may have worked out too hard last night. My ab just a one pack at the moment is hurting.
