Hi everyone - just caught up on old thread, sorry to hear about all the tonsillitis and other bits of bad news.
Forgotten who asked about bread machine recipes, you can get books, they have a couple in our local library - might be worth a look?
Didn't quite manage my NSD as there was a really good veggie recipe book in the Book People box at work for £4. I bought one for me and one for a friend's birthday present. I think recipe books are my weakness, I can't resist them!

babsmam · 13/07/2015 18:14

Sorry about your dad Electrolux. Black trousers and a smart top or black dress if you prefer dresses. Yy to supermarket clothes they will be fine. If the black is a bit cheap looking gray or navy work well too.

My first NSD since ever joining the thread.

However, tonight I'll have to run the dishwasher.

Myturnnow4 · 13/07/2015 18:57

[Flowers] so sorry to hear of those having sad times.

Pointlessfan · 13/07/2015 18:59

Well done, *Myturn"!

NK5BM3 · 13/07/2015 19:06

Hello and thanks fluffy for setting up new thread. Tonsillitis, don't you have to go to the doctors? I'd not had it ever until one recently and omg it was the most painful thing ever... They gave me antibiotics and it was much better.

Nsd today!

northender · 13/07/2015 19:12

Thanks for the new thread fluffy I'll catch up later. Have had quite a few days away from the thread and been terribly unfrugal so need to redeem myself!

wheelycote · 13/07/2015 19:16

Electrolux so sorry about your Dad, much love and hugs xxx

I bought a plain black dress from Tesco for my Dads funeral. If none of the supermarkets have anything plain and black, try matalan aswellThanks Thanks

NK5BM3 · 13/07/2015 19:27

Just marking my place Smile.

Outwith · 13/07/2015 19:50

Sorry, I was marking my place during a complicated app to web browser to app manoeuvre Grin.

Does anyone have any good birthday present ideas for 5 year olds for £5? I try to stick to a £5 limit for classmate parties (is this too frugal Blush?), and I generally think I get something good / nice. Does anyone have any good ideas though? I've found small £5 LEGO sets to be pretty good, and some books too (usually from the Book People).

I also object to the cost of birthday cards Grin, so I've been buying kids multipacks (£3 for 6 I think) and single cards (£1 each) from M&S.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2015 19:53

Happy Birthday NK Flowers

electrolux I am so sorry your dad passed away, I would try Primark for a basic black dress. I've been to funerals in our family and the dress code has certainly declined or relaxed. Dh is older than me so I have two funeral dresses. www.riverisland.com/girls/dresses/day-dresses/girls-black-ribbed-skater-dress-dress-812715 If you are short this would fit you in age 11-12. Just need a cardi. I'm bigger than you and fit age 12.

£14 on work supplies.
