Still haven't read back on the thread but should get chance later on tonight. The pil have been here since Friday but left this morning so the house feels a bit more manageable again tonight. The last couple of weeks have been completely manic in the northend house mainly due to dc's cricket matches and the associated catering I do which raises money for the club. Anyway this weekend just gone was the most frantic and I had begun to feel on the edge of sanity so I put frugality to one side for a few days and bought foods at the supermarket that I would normally make (ie ready meals, cakes, picnic food) and we even had a meal out and a takeaway
. Anyway, it felt strange to do after such relentless frugality but it served a purpose and reduced my stress levels.
So now it's back to normality, I'm using up leftovers etc and really watching the pennies. Three and a half weeks until we go to France, can't wait!
Frugal win, ds' chest brace fitting date has been changed by the clinic so instead of a weekend in London for the 4 of us, it's just going to be a night for 2 of us
