Hi everyone,

Nsd today Grin. Might have to put a £1 in a charity collection later, but I'm ok with that. I'm going to the cathedral later on to see a friend get an award presented so I'm looking forward to that.

Also hoping for nsd tomorrow and Friday.

Just wondering if anyone uses tesco value dishwasher tabs? I've ordered them but now wondering if it's a false economy.

Hi everyone I am joining you all

We have has a reality check lately & it's time to stop spending & start paying the debt off, if we want to save for a deposit!

First step, paying of those retched CC, I will try & get my head around how to do that.

On the plus I finically got my tax rebate of £550! Which will go into savings until I know where best to put it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 16:04

Welcome Yoga

Candy I bought those tabs and they work well. I break them in half & only put the Dw on every other day if I can help it.

ipsos Brilliant result on the pans & Amazon France.

Another £70 on tyres.

Peppapissinpig · 15/07/2015 16:09

Great tip Ipsos re breaking dw tabs in half. Do they not crumble?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 16:15

No, not usually.

Leccy bill now £30 in debit. Makes no sense. I'll switch to a different provider middle of dec, and go through my usage with a fine tooth comb to check my bills are accurate.

I'm 6kg less than I was last time I went to the hospital six months ago Grin

I always do dh's credit card switches. At the grand old age of 29 he is shit on computers and scared of using the phone Hmm so I just do it all instead

Forgot I returned those trousers to fat face, I've got £34 on its way to me.

I've also got that £20 gift card from the garden centre, I want to use it for fun in the summer holidays, so far all I can think of is painting pots. I do not have green fingers, any ideas?

£5 gas meter. That's lasting me 8 days so far, so not bad.
£2.47, posting a birthday card and a recorded letter. DS could have saved me the cost of the 63p stamp for the card and given it to my friend's son in school, but of course he forgot.
£2.39 on biscuits, crisps, scampi fries and Tunnocks tea cakes. I haven't seen those for years, so I was tempted!
£3.10 DS bus fare to school.

northender · 15/07/2015 17:12

Still haven't read back on the thread but should get chance later on tonight. The pil have been here since Friday but left this morning so the house feels a bit more manageable again tonight. The last couple of weeks have been completely manic in the northend house mainly due to dc's cricket matches and the associated catering I do which raises money for the club. Anyway this weekend just gone was the most frantic and I had begun to feel on the edge of sanity so I put frugality to one side for a few days and bought foods at the supermarket that I would normally make (ie ready meals, cakes, picnic food) and we even had a meal out and a takeaway Shock. Anyway, it felt strange to do after such relentless frugality but it served a purpose and reduced my stress levels.

So now it's back to normality, I'm using up leftovers etc and really watching the pennies. Three and a half weeks until we go to France, can't wait!

Frugal win, ds' chest brace fitting date has been changed by the clinic so instead of a weekend in London for the 4 of us, it's just going to be a night for 2 of us

Need I move every year and always use comparison sites. I'd be interested in who your insurance is with and who you bought via, as it will renew in October and I'd love to save money there.

ipsos I don't think they sell sandpit sand? Good idea though, ds doesn't like sand Confused

AuditAngel · 15/07/2015 18:28

Lovetoknit my DS is 11 next month too so we also gave high school uniform to buy (plus shoes and trainers). DD2 starts primary and needs some stuff, although I have got DD1's hand me downs. DD1 skipped a cardigan size, and that is the size DD2 needs, need shoes and plimsolls.

Today NSD.

girliefriend · 15/07/2015 18:32

Thanks guys, hate feeling sick!!

Can any of you recommend a tablet/ipad thingy for dd? I am not into technology at all but she has been asking for one for about 2 years so thinking this Christmas I may finally relent and get her one!! Also id it fairly straight forward to put games onto them? i seriously have no clue how it all works Confused poor dd!!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2015 18:37
