NK5BM3 · 09/11/2014 19:41

lilacclery · 09/11/2014 21:07

Birds eye frozen pasta is free on the checkout smart app today, if two of you have a checkout smart account you can get two free each.

The mysupermarket app is offering 20% cashback on them so you'd be 80p in profit & have a quick meal in the freezer for nights when you cba to cook.

girlie try the aldi chips in the green bag Wink, own brand supermarket chips are vile but these are very nice.

Adora that bill would make me cross too, Solars meant to save money.

HolgerDanske · 10/11/2014 08:09

Hello everyone,

Is it ok to join this thread with a view to starting a focused saving plan but not quite yet? Am working up to it and hope that I will get myself sorted out over the next few weeks so that I can fully embrace it.

AdoraBell · 10/11/2014 10:58

Yes Fluffy that's what I thought tooConfused The problem is DH went for a fancy pants complex system imported from Europe because at the time local products where not very good and when it goes wrong it goes very wrong. It's taken them 3 weeks To sort it this time and various parts needed replacing.

Holger you've come To right place, welcome.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2014 11:19

Welcome Holger, everyone's welcome here.

My jackets not coming, so they are refunding me. Bit gutted.

I suppose if you'd had a cheaper system & I broke down frequently you could have easily wracked up that much in repairs by now Adora.

HolgerDanske · 10/11/2014 11:33

Thanks Flowers

I realised I made a mistake in my comment - I'm not looking to save. Not yet. First I've got to clear debt [ sad]

lilacclery · 10/11/2014 11:43

Holger most of us are in that same boat as you!
I call it savings but it's actually just putting money aside for expected bills etc and trying to focus on clearing debt as much as possible.

574ejones · 10/11/2014 12:02

Not the NSD I had planned but a LSD. £3 Xmas wrapping paper, £3.80 baking stuff in Waitrose.

Frugal wins: free tea in Waitrose and used half a bag of spinach that was on its way out in a saag aloo to go with tonight's curry which consists of yesterday's leftovers!

HearMyRoar · 10/11/2014 12:50

We were visiting dmil this weekend. Train tickets were paid for last weekend so just some pastries for the journey there and some for the way back. Also treated us to a taxi home from the station as I was I'll with awful stomach ache last night so feel rubbish and it was raining. All in all I think it cost about £15.

We have a bit of shopping to do today as there in no food in the house. Should be about £15 today and then another £20 tomorrow on the rest of the weeks shopping.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2014 13:13

I've made fudge for my wedding favours. I want to eat it all Blushwouldn't be very frugal if I had to do it all over again would it?

AdoraBell · 10/11/2014 13:20

Fluffy we have already saved money on winter bills, it just feels like a bit of a piss take when something needs doing. It took 4 call outs and 3 replacements parts To find the cause of the problem. Then they came back To fix that.

Roar hope you feel better.

Should be able to manage an NSD Today as I have enough veg for a day or Two. We need shampoo but it can wait úntil Tomorrow.

Well done Jones

Mojito100 · 10/11/2014 14:00

LSD instead of NSD but a good day overall. Topped up with petrol as did extra driving last week in support of DS2 and his needs. Also bought DS2 treat today as we had planned appointments for him. Not too spendy and the extra petrol I paid for today came out of petrol money I had saved in previous weeks.

I'm finding separating out my money is helping me stay on top of things and generally not overspend or at least do it consciously.

OhForFoxSakeYourPullingMyChain · 10/11/2014 15:39

£3.39 in Jack Fultons
But... Did a full day over time today, so happy days :)

needastrongone · 10/11/2014 16:02

£9 in Morrisons on salad, wraps and toilet roll.

£23 on two new girths for the pony.

However, my quarterly M&S vouchers arrived today, totalling £63, nice for Christmas. Smile
