Spend spend spend. ...

£45 on a lego fire station, down £65 (finally! Been waiting aaaaaages), £13ish on a baby doll with hair and £40 on bras (25% fig leaves one day only)

Add that to the new swimming costume, jeans and long sleeve tops and 2 jumpers I've splurged on lately....but I should be done for casual wear now until summer.

Had final restructure paper out yesterday, they have increased the jobs at my level from 6 to 8 out of 11. Phew.....I have a much better chance now as there are 9 decent ones in the running (incl me I hope! )

Inset day today, currently at a soft play, £9 entry and £5 junk food (for me). So bored!

Passthecake30 · 28/11/2014 15:06

Thanks fluffy. If I do keep my job it'll mean going full time so the kids won't be impressed. ..but the bank balance will appreciate it! Thou I don't have many work clothes so I might have to invest as I currently go to the the office 3 days a week and rotate the same 3 outfits. ...

Passthecake30 · 28/11/2014 15:29

Yuk wet dog collie. That's what I say dp smells of sometimes Blush

Interviews are 5 or 6th of jan and I'll know that evening. No job means "gardening leave" for 3 months (unpaid notice) and lots of time ebaying and shopping at Aldi? ?

£50 tesco delivery.

sportinguista · 28/11/2014 16:59

Not too low spend day but not too bad either:

£8.98 in Aldi
£4.50 in Tesco

All on essentials to keep us going for a bit. Will draw a tenner tomorrow as I tend to be better if I have actual cash to conserve rather than putting on card. Going to do large Aldi shop on Sunday with DH to use our vouchers, first time we've shopped together for years, it will be very interesting I think as he'll finally twig what costs what!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 28/11/2014 18:03

Think Sainsbury 25% off TU starts tues it usually runs Tue to Mon

needastrongone · 28/11/2014 18:17

It would shock DH to the core to be aware of how much 'life' costs, let alone just the food shop. He hasn't had a clue for 17 years Smile

Puppies do have a very particular smell, which I love, but is very particular. Damp dog is not pleasant, mine get squirted with dog perfume, which they HATE!

Two types of curry in the slow cookers, and rice in the rice cooker. DH is bringing a few starters in from Asda, which is a lot cheaper than a takeaway.

DD is on her knees with fatigue, trying to manage school and the pony. I was so proud of her tonight, walking down to the farm, in the rain, immediately after school to feed her. Gave her a tenner for dedication and non-complaint.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 28/11/2014 18:44

I am Angry as a carton of soup I bought in supermarket is actually off, I know I should check these things but they're always fine these days and I just didn't think. Now will have to trek back and ask for refund, ffs.

Sorry to hear that collie hope everything turns out ok

Aldi & Lidl have €10 off €50 shop vouchers every sun from now to Christmas in Ireland. Tempted to use it as a chance to stock presses for January rather than save €10 a go, is that still frugal?

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/11/2014 20:03

Saving money is always frugal.

Sorry to hear about your cousin, I hope he's ok.

collie sorry to hear that, I hope he gets the treatment he needs asap.

That's a great gift idea, I'll be stealing that. Flowers

I walked into town slowly today and banked some cash DH had left lying on his desk (£300!!) and bought myself a chocolate advent calendar as a treat and a fair trade one for DH (I need a dairy free one so quite specific!)

Am feeling sleepy now though. Have almost sorted DH for Christmas and begun thinking about the rest, I'll be almost done by Sunday.

Fingers crossed they can deal with it easily Collie.

Spent £6.68 on chicken, almonds and a big pot of yoghurt in the supermarket and £9.50 on seeds, oats and snacks in the health food shop. Their almonds were too expensive.

Good luck Pass

My DH gets a periodic reminder, I send him off to get the groceries whenever I think he's losing touch. He is currently fully up to dateXmas Grin

lilacclery · 29/11/2014 00:27

Dh did family grocery shopping for a long time before we met so knows value of it, he admires my thrifty ways & never questions the grocery bill IF he ever does he can go back to doing it himself!!

Hope tumour can be dealt with seamlessly & without harming his sight.

Peonies will you take it easy please youre not long after operation.

sportinguista · 29/11/2014 06:12

I'm waiting for the shock to hit him on Sunday Grin. We will be going round using the calculator on my phone so no nasty shocks at the till. I have been conservative with the list this time as although we are getting a few Christmas bits I don't need a huge amount as we are going again in around 2 weeks for all that stuff.

Wine will be in boxes imported by a good friend from Portugal at £15 for 5L, and it's nice stuff too.

collie hope all goes well for your cousin and it's all sorted soon.

I'm currently working my way through the freezer to try and find frugal uses for many items that have been there for a while. I've got some filo pastry which I think might be a useful pie topping.

lilacclery · 29/11/2014 07:57

€200 online on Christmas presents last night but that's 7 children done & dusted. Happy with my nights work. Used www.childrens-room.co.UK and &matalan.co.uk & found voucher code for 10 off £50 spend on matalan. Love getting clothes there because no one else will have them in Ireland.

sportinguista when money is really tight I tally trolley in my head by rounding up or down to nearest €
