Gravy
Nice bread

lilacclery · 09/11/2014 11:46

sixforgold I also want to have everything ready for Dec 1st but the only present I've purchased yet are for my brother who's now going to be still travelling so will have no address to post it to & dh! Will get there.

Ds loves his birthday present of a Fisher price garage (bought 2nd hand for €15) and 3 cars to go with it.

My mother bought a dress in an auction for €5 which has a price tag of €208 for me to either get taken in to fit me or to sell for profit. I haven't tried it on yet but don't love it so I think sale for profit.

Today is a nsd.

Mojito100 · 09/11/2014 11:48

Spendy day today but I have just about finished all the Christmas shopping for family and the money came out of my Christmas fund. Still aiming for 4 NSD's this week coming. Only had 3 this week.

babsmam · 09/11/2014 11:54

NSD today. DS has chicken pox and housebound. DD has gone out with her pal and they would not let me give them anything towards it.
£66 in sainsburys yesterday and not even for the full week. Just couldn't make the extra time for aldi. Sigh
Oh an show fees for DD £45

£37 at Aldi, of which at least about £10 was 2 bottles of wine and a magazine (it came with a free nails inc nail polish and I've not bought any mag or nail polish for years. Really). So amazingly, the weeks shop has come in at about £27!!!! Let's see if it lasts...

£2 for cupcakes at church for charity.

Baking cupcakes now for ds school cake sale. Doh.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 09/11/2014 14:25

£54 on boots, skirt and jumper in online sale - but most/all of it will probably go back anyway. Have been doing the Marie Kondo de-cluttering thing and ended up with 2 jumpers, so I do genuinely need jumpers. The boots and skirt Blush

tomorrow + tues will be NSD as I work 0845am-11.30pm on Mondays and then Tues I am up in hospital from 11.30 for scan.

LS weekend on the whole. Bought a family organiser, but have eaten at home.

Love my soup maker, just made spicy butternut squash and parsnip soup for DD and myself using a few remnants from the fridge. 20 minutes, whizzed up, all in one pot!1

Pony training later, which will be about a tenner. The pony cost me a fortune this Friday, new saddle £500, aaarrgghh. However, the accountant had finished our tax return figures, for which I had budgeted X amount for, and it's less than this, which I sort of expected, as I usually budget a bit more for tax than I think it will be.

needastrongone · 09/11/2014 14:55

missA glad your consultant is taking things seriously, keep us posted.

needastrongone · 09/11/2014 14:56

I find Boots insanely expensive!! Not sure how they survive charging the prices they do.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/11/2014 15:00

I only shop in boots because I get a discount.

needastrongone · 09/11/2014 15:02

nocuts - good savings!!

RobinEllacott · 09/11/2014 15:44

I was hoping for a LSD (Tube and bus fares only) but we were running late on our way back from something this morning: DD was starving and we were miles from home, so we had lunch at Wagamama. £22 plus service for the two of us - could be worse. Food out is definitely my downfall: I spend a small fortune on it every month.

Tomorrow should be a NSD: cycling to work and have organised myself to make packed lunch.

MissA, I'm also doing the Marie Kondo thing and I have no T-shirts at all now! I need to get my act together to go and buy some.

lilacclery · 09/11/2014 15:55

Off to Google Marie kondo!
Started my Christmas shopping well added stuff to shopping cart online, haven't ffinalised purchase yet, feels good to be getting it started

574ejones · 09/11/2014 15:57

Spent £164 in Go Outdoors on presents but about half of that I will recoup from my sisters.

Have been preparing the house for winter - insulated my outside tap and washed all the windows. Have also blanched and frozen a load of veg to make it easier for when I start work.

Hoping for NSD tomorrow.

NK5BM3 · 09/11/2014 16:35

Ladies, help!

I bought a stew pack last week (the usual, onions, parsnip or 2, carrots...) but didn't use it with the beef stew I was intending to use it with.

Should I just make some sort of parsnip/carrot soup with it? (Ie, peel everything, boil it, stock, blend)??? Any thoughts? Thanks.

girliefriend · 09/11/2014 16:59

£1 on parking and 89p on milk!

Not too bad Smile

Thinking about having day out with dd tomos as she has a random inset day, no where too expensive and will take own food obv Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2014 17:01

Roast the veg & serve with roast chicken. I love roast carrots & the fat makes the beta carotene easier to convert in the body. Or peel, blanch & freeze for stew another a day.

I got £50 cashback off the home insurance, feck knows where the other £50 off quidco is BASTARDS, & I had £50 leftover from my lloyds compo so I bought some ugg boots. I got £10 cashback for buying them so it's only £30 of my own money spent.

If one of you can come round and take my bank cards off me that'd be great.

I've found some heel tips for my leather boots so I'm going to get dh to fit them when he's better.

I've ended up making a carrot/parsnip soup. Smells quite good! With curry powder, ginger.. Yums.

On a separate note, I bought frozen mash from Aldi...on the recommendation of a thread here...and it was yums. Grin Will buy again. Add some butter, milk and really v good.

fuzzpig · 09/11/2014 18:31

£110.18 Tesco delivery - £21 of that was stocking up on persil, loo roll and kitchen roll, and there's some toiletries which we'd run out of, but still that's a massive amount. Continuing to stock up the freezer with bulk cooking (more due to my health than for budgeting reasons although that's an other advantage in the long run) - will be making extra cheese sauce when I do cauli cheese, and I'm just going to wrap and freeze portions of pesto we made.

£9 family bus pass
£3 tip

MazzleDazzle · 09/11/2014 18:36

Hi folks,

Can I join you? (waves)

I'm Mrs Scattercash! Money means nothing to me. I can take £100 from a cash machine, but the next day my purse is empty and I've nothing to show for it. It's embarrassing how often I find money in pockets/handbags...Blush. I don't read price tags either. I've had some real shockers at the till! Although I'm a spender, it was drummed into be never to get into debt. Thank God! Even with my DH and I both having fairly decent jobs, we're skint! Our house is a renovation project and our funds have run out. And I've nothing saved for Christmas. And every month we're creeping into our overdraft!

I'm determined to be in the black at the end of the month, or as near to it as possible!

I started THE BIG SAVE on Monday. I had a budget of £150 to last the week and I've still got £70 left! Grin Every day has been a LSD, if not a NSD!

And now I've found this thread there'll be no stopping me!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/11/2014 19:22

Does anyone know the best way to book airport parking? We usually fly from Gatwick so get a lift or the train but flying from Heathrow next month. I know you can go through topcashback for some. There's so much to choose from Confused

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2014 19:32

I think mse will know the answer, I think sometimes its cheaper to book a hotel overnight and get a weeks free parking or something like that.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/11/2014 19:40

Thanks fluffy. I like the sound of that Grin
