Well, it's only 7.15 and I've spent £250 - paid the gas and electricity bills online just now. Gah. Hope we don't have a cold winter.

lilacclery · 07/11/2014 09:37

nocuts you're making me feel really bad about ds 1st birthday on Sunday, I'm making a farm cake, have loads of paper plates etc with 1 on them from his nephew's failed party last year(poor thing was ill) and there'll be about 5 extra people along with ourselves!

Yesterday €40 on diesel. Plus paid dd's playschool, put savings right left and centre for wood pellets, christmas, school next year etc, and paid credit card bill eek!

Really need to get those two credit cards cleared! Watch this space.

Battenburg1978 · 07/11/2014 09:58

Hi everyone - newbie signing up here to stop spending and start saving!

2 NSD and 1 LSD in a row. Resumed cycling to work and bringing lunch and snacks.

The weekend will be more spendy as starting CHristmas shopping. It seems like there are a lot of offers on right now. Just have to stick to items that are needed and not get swayed by "bargains".

ItalianWiking84 · 07/11/2014 10:00

Congratulations on the job Smile
DD is sick Sad have a high fewer so mostly spending time cuddling and making her feel comfortable. Also getting 2 tooths atm...
Spent 25£ yesterday on groceries but should last until next week.

ItalianWiking84 · 07/11/2014 10:02

Haven't started on Christmas shopping yet except for a advent gift Shock
Have to both shop for 3 more advent gifts, Christmas gifts and sinterklaas gift... And of course the rest of the gifts for all the other people Confused

girliefriend · 07/11/2014 12:22

Hope your dd feels better soon italian my dd is also poorly, kept her off school as has a sore throat and is looking a bit peaky. Was hoping to go and see some more fireworks tonight if she picks up, otherwise Nsd.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 07/11/2014 12:47

£7 on new medication (cheaper to buy than pay prescription charges) and £4.19 on milk, ribena and 2 x bags of haribo for pupil prizes.

Gastro-enterologist was lovely, very concerned and supportive but doesn't think this is gallbladder or ulcers. She has given me ulcer meds to try, and says if it is an ulcer I should know very soon as meds will make a huge difference. She wants to wait for the results of the MRI scan on Tuesday and is adding some more things for the radiologist to look for, then she will phone me on Tuesday afternoon to discuss. She's booked me in for an endoscopy on Friday next week which she says we will probably cancel as she's sure MRI will solve the mystery, but if not the endosocopy will go ahead.

So ... in the meantime I have to get to Tuesday. I have decided to try to eat as normal to today and see if I can stick the pain as I am so hungry and have lost loads of weight.

LSD today. Bought box of chocolates for teacher who was looking after DS2 at camp he can be a handful and she obviously worked really hard as he had no real issues. She is jut such a gem. I wish we could have her next year.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/11/2014 14:33

lilac my dd is going to be 6 neither of my girls had 1st or 2nd bday parties so dont feel bad they just love cake and having fun with family/friends, best party I did was bring a scoot or ride on party for dd1 3rd cost next to nothing and very little organisation just food and a hall Grin its a frozen party on the cheap this year, been scouring pinterest for ideas.

spent £1 on tea at family centre before I did my volunteering and not looked at bargain thread or amazon so no temptation Smile

OhForFoxSakeYourPullingMyChain · 07/11/2014 15:37

£22.00 on damp proof paint, because my landlord appears to be deaf, decided to tackle the awful mould on the bathroom ceiling myself... arghhhh!!!

£2.60 in Jack Fultons, not going out tomorrow or Sunday, 2 nsd's right there...

MyGhostIsFlummoxed · 07/11/2014 15:48

Managed a NSD today, first time this month. Though not been reckless spending:
Saturday-food shop
Sunday-Christmas presents/DH birthday presents
Monday-bus fair for interview (didn't get the job)
Tuesday-bus fair+therapy session
Wednesday-hygienist
Thursday-Slimming World subs + cereal bars (less than £10 so does this count as a LSD?)
Friday-NSD so far

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/11/2014 15:55

Hello,

Can I join please.
I'm a complete novice at this really, but I need to tighten the belt even more.

HearMyRoar · 07/11/2014 16:15

Just had buy dd some paracetamol for £4.90 as everyone has a has a wretched cold and she barely slept for sniffling and coughing last night.

We are of to dh's mum's tomorrow for the weekend. We have got biscuits to take as offering but hoping it will be pretty cheap.

A quick question. Has anyone sold any jewellery before and if so how did you do it? I have a ring I inherited that is worth about £1000. I will never wear it so want to sell it but have no idea where to start. Wondering whether it would be mad to just stick it on eBay.

fuzzpig · 07/11/2014 16:25

£2 DD pocket money
20p fruit money
£2 bus fare
£5.19 breakfast (heaven!)

Karbea · 07/11/2014 16:30

hearmyroar I'd be tempted to take it to a few jewellery shops and see what they'll offer you.

Sixforgold · 07/11/2014 18:27

NSD! 4/15. No plans to set foot outside again this evening either.

I am tomorrow, however, having my hair cut, buying my mum's birthday present and buying a few bits to take out to a friend's house for lunch on Sunday.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/11/2014 18:44

Tesco messed up my delivery (chicken wings instead of mini fillets(?!)) so all that we can have for dinner is rice, curry sauce and popadoms. Dp is in a strop because apparently this isn't a proper meal. He can do the bloody food shopping from now on see how he manages.

MissA your consultant sounded pretty optimistic which must be nice. Hope the tablets work for you.

My dc are almost two and four and neither have had a party yet. Dd's already asked for one for next year argh!

AuditAngel · 07/11/2014 19:34

£15.30 in Matalan buying 2 packs of school tights plus a black polo neck DD needs for tomorrow, could only get plain black in an adult, so it is huge and I need to turn up the sleeves. Used a 10% off voucher saving £1.70, but was disappointed to get home and find a 25% off one at home. ??

£1 on parking and £4.59 on a McDonalds as I dashed to Staines in my lunch hour.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/11/2014 21:40

£13 fish and chips and cava

£84.50 Barbour jacket. But it was half price.

£8 at a fireworks display - was good though Grin

Had to put a £15 deposit down for the work Christmas do, wasn't going to go but hardly ever go out and will be the only Christmas do I go to.

Must go to bed - am working tomos!

AdoraBell · 08/11/2014 03:33

Spotty my DH lives in fear of enforced vegetaríanism after his first wife decided that they would be veggie without consulting him. Last week I did a lentil bake and after eating he asked "what was that?" I told him it was deliciosoGrin. I cannot stand people who strop when something has been cooked for them FIL .

Everyone is welcome Karbea

Italian hope DD gets better very soon.

Good To hear that the consultant is optomistic and being pro active booking the second test now MissA and I hope the meds help.

I'm not doing very Well with spending Blush and I Failed To notice I'm extremley low on petróleo, like there might be enough fumes To Get To the petróleo station Tomorrow.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/11/2014 06:59

He made himself an omelette in the end. Nob.

My neighbours have really pissed me off! The other morning we got woken up at 1:30am by their washing machine spinning and this morning it was 5:30! It's ridiculous. She either doesn't work or works from home so it's not like she isn't in during the day Angry
