It's horrendous isn't it? Could do with a Covid buddy so I feel less alone!

Sorry to hear it - me too, I've been testing positive since Friday. What are your symptoms?

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 13:11

Yesterday for me. Chesty coughing, runny nose and fever to start. Now still fever, aching everywhere, nausea, low appetite, sweating, shakes. You?

LadyHag · 09/10/2023 13:18

Yep me too. Never had it before, like flu symptoms.

Dh has it too and he's holed up in bed.

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 13:20

I just feel all kinds of wrong. Really uneasy.

Yes I’ve got it. I feel dreadful .

mildlydispeptic · 09/10/2023 13:24

No digestive issues, luckily, but yes to the other symptoms. And just massive fatigue. Anybody else feeling weirdly thirsty?

TeaandHobnobs · 09/10/2023 13:24

I don’t (currently) have it, but DH does, we are pretty sure (the test he took on Sunday was a bit faint). All the same symptoms as you @Smiley444, he feels like utter crap. Keeps randomly falling asleep after a lemsip.

Really wish we were eligible for boosters this year 😬 DM is meant to have hers on Wednesday - trying to keep her and DH separate as much as possible (we all live together)

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 13:31

Thirsty but not weeing much! Must be dehydrated from all the sweating. I was due a booster but had not had it yet. Regret that!

I think I've had it last week

No cold symptoms

Tired: achy muscles
Loss of smell

Cough comes and goes

Yogagrandmum · 09/10/2023 13:58

I agree, DH had it, with his very high temperature and blinding headache I looked up when I should take him to hospital… he still has a nasty cough.

campocaro · 09/10/2023 14:00

Positive on Saturday after 2 nights of intermittent slight cough - hardly sleeping and weird dreams. Sleeping better now but feel exhausted and dizzy so mainly resting. Metallic taste in mouth and v sensitive nostrils! No temperature or chills. Not much appetite. First time with covid.

YouReallyAre · 09/10/2023 16:45

I've got it, feels just like a mild cold so far which is the same as the first time I had it. Slight headache and runny nose but nothing else fortunately - maybe it's to come!
Hope everyone feels better soon.

MuggleMe · 09/10/2023 17:13

I've had it a week and I've been totally floored. Cough and cold symptoms but then one day I couldn't get out of bed, could hardly move my head from my pillow. Getting youngest from school I felt like I was 98, holding onto the railings and stopping every 2 minutes. It was then that I realised and tested.

I think I'm on day 8, cough much better, appetite gone, trying to fight off sinus infection and fatigue unreal.

Looking after my 6yo on Thur Fri then her and her sister over the weekend with minimal help from DH who also has COVID was the hardest thing I've done in a long time.

baroqueandblue · 09/10/2023 19:26

Just getting over it, except... well... as usual (in my experience of covid) it's the gift that keeps on giving 🙄 Today, apart from the lingering cough and sinuses that feel like they could tip into infection, I've got this really weird deep pain in my left thigh bone and my pelvis. Not impressed!

Sorry to hear you're (mostly) all suffering, hope things improve very soon 💐

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 19:40

Anyone have thick mucous that they can't cough up? And it blocks your airway temporarily as you're trying to cough it up?

Yes. And awful crackling when I breathe, like I'm holding Space Dust in my mouth. I've hurt my ribs from coughing so hard. I feel awful.

Wonderwife · 09/10/2023 21:23

8th day of covid. Still positive and feeling horrid.

Applerumleandcustard · 09/10/2023 21:30

I had it about 10 days ago , just felt a bit tired and coldy …. Then I lost my sense of smell , completely
I didn’t even realise my DH had made himself a bacon sandwich ,I’d been out for the day with DSis , which was when I realised it was Covid
I couldn’t smell anything , sniffed the coffee jar , the spiced rum , even bleach , nothing
I still don’t have the taste or smell completely back , DH must have caught it from me , he had to have a couple of days in bed and still sleeps in the afternoon ( luckily we’re retired )
Even more luckily , DSIS didn’t catch it at all

Wonderwife · 09/10/2023 21:35

I've had a metallic taste in my mouth and keep feeling nauseous. Just wish the symptoms would disappear. Starting to get me down.

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 22:05

What day is suitable for going back to work would you say? I mean, when you feel better... but I was still testing positive on day 14 last year...

QuitChewingMyPlectrum · 09/10/2023 22:33

Testing negative now (2 weeks since tested pos) and still feeling very woozy, dizzy, and exhausted. Feel like I've been hit by a bus. I'm ok for maybe 2 hours in the morning but after that I have to rest. Tried walking around the living room for a bit of exercise today and ended up completely out of it

Smiley444 · 09/10/2023 23:23

Oh no, 2 weeks out and still bad? So you couldn't go back to work?

OP posts:
lingmerth · 09/10/2023 23:40

Just getting over it. Felt like I'd been hit by a bus. Couldn't sleep, felt a bit panicky. Very thirsty. Tea tasted horrible. Lost taste and smell. Very tired, couldn't concentrate on anything on tv, ended up just having the radio on. Sore throat, temperature. Last time I had Covid it was just like a cold. This time far worse.

BlueKaftan · 09/10/2023 23:44

I’m on day 3. On and off fever, dry cough, fatigue and muscle aches, nonstop headache. And tonight I have insomnia.

rainbowlou · 09/10/2023 23:46

I’ve just had it for the fifth time! Floored me for about 5 days.
I hope you feel better soon
