It's horrendous isn't it? Could do with a Covid buddy so I feel less alone!

Thank you @Chedderbites2
I tested positive on the 8th October so just over 2 weeks now. But my symptoms started on the 4th October.
I didn't really have sore throat it was just a really dry throat with lots of post nasal drip. I ended up with oral thrush because of it . Doctor has given me nystatin tand that's helped a lot.
Maybe try some salt water gargling to help relieve it. But yes whatever this variant is its having a huge mixture of symptoms .

Daz2424 · 24/10/2023 18:40

Hi @Crikeyalmighty
I experienced similar . But dry cough and awful mucus which I still have.
As for the feeling like you can't get enough air. I've had that the past week especially when waking up. Its like your air Hungry. Sends me into a bit of panic . But it must just be part of the virus .

Bellabluea · 24/10/2023 20:05

Ok so I posted yesterday that I felt better.
Today day 6 I woke up with a coldsore - I’ve never had a coldsore in my life and I’ve slept all day.
I went to the supermarket and felt like I’d run a marathon.

Daz2424 · 24/10/2023 21:19

@Bellabluea I was the same day 8 mine appeared . I think it's caused by the virus or dry lips . Mines almost gone now. And I do get them once in a while when am sick or rundown . Oh i know that feeing like you've ran a marathon. I went out today and was just slow pacing around the local store my fitbit heart rate was at 142 😰

I tested positive on 29th September but it had been coming on for a few days. Nearly 4 weeks on from that test I'm almost certain my sinuses are infected. So fed up 😞

Daz2424 · 24/10/2023 23:15

Hi @baroqueandblue do your sinuses feel dried out . Mine have felt like someone has poured cement in mine since day 1. Ive tried Nasal rinses and everything, just won't clear . I think this is the cause of my blocked hissing ear and dizziness.
My doctor won't give anything as there's no mucus . Even though there's pressure.
I have read that a lot of people get sinus infections post covid.
Hope you feel better soon

baroqueandblue · 24/10/2023 23:29

Hi @Daz2424 sorry to hear your sinuses have felt so dry and blocked. Sounds like you've tried everything to get things moving, but no luck yet. No wonder your ears are affected, which might explain the dizziness too 🙁 I feel for you and hope you get some relief very soon. And thanks for asking but I guess I've had the opposite problem - plenty of mucus and sneezing and nose-blowing, which has started to make my sinuses throb and ache and feel very much like previous sinus infections. Unfortunately they've been increasingly hard to shift in the past 🙄. Only a few months ago I had to take high strength antibiotics to get rid of one, as first line antibiotics were useless. Anyway, if this gets worse in the next few days I'll have to ask my GP to step in. I'm due to go for a sauna/steam room on Friday so I'm hoping that helps🤞Take care!

My sinuses are sooo sore and blocked despite being careful to blow and not sniff. Hoping desperately it clears on its own as it’s grim.

Daz2424 · 25/10/2023 00:19

@baroqueandblue thank you I hope I get some relief soon too. Really can't wait for all of this to pass. Each day has its ups and downs still.
Hopefully the steam and sauna helps for you. Good luck 🤞

Daz2424 · 25/10/2023 00:27

@Bellabluea i feel your pain and praying for some relief soon . I'm having some post nasal drip but nothing else.
Maybe we both need a course of antibiotics to try and help shift it 🙏

Crikeyalmighty · 25/10/2023 00:32

@Daz2424 first time I had it back in 2022 I got a ton of neuro stuff for a year, they were finally easing off (migraines and chronic pins and needles , a weak wobbly leg and stiff neck , weird internal vibrations etc) and bugger me this time it's the lack of air thing- feels like how I imagine asthma feels. I think you cough to try and get more air in- a kind of habit. I agree about first thing , I panic a bit too . - I do find the air con in the rooms here helps a bit. Bloody rotten feeling below par on a big holiday - I'm dreading the flight back as you almost sense what people are thinking if you cough .

Daz2424 · 25/10/2023 09:35

@Crikeyalmighty how awful to be on holiday and feel so down. I wouldn't worry about what people think tbh . I went out yesterday to a store and also to see my gp to get bloods done , i wore my mask I got some very strange looks. But I'm not risking catching anything else whilst my immune systems low .
As for some of your past and recent symptoms I'm having a lot of them now still. Especially the weakness and strange vibrations. last night was weird kept waking up with nausea and anxiety thinking I was getting really sick again .
