It's horrendous isn't it? Could do with a Covid buddy so I feel less alone!

I'm just taking it gradually. DH went down with it as well (but then he gets every cough/cold going,) after a week of no housework, the place was a top. I was so agitated and uncomfortable I couldn't stay in bed or even on the sofa, our kitchen is open plan at the end of the living room, the mess made me feel MUCH worse! I had stomach problems last year, and could turn a blind eye to the mess, this anxiety/agitation was weird. Had booster Monday, felt pretty good Tuesday, and 'off' again yesterday

Smiley444 · 12/10/2023 08:53

Did you have the booster straight after having covid @Nannyfannybanny ?

FallingFeathers · 12/10/2023 09:01

I have a cold, it's worse than the first strain of covid I had, milder than the second. Don't have tests anymore so no idea if this or the numerous other colds the DC bring home are covid or not.

Longlive · 12/10/2023 09:21

Yep, both DH and I. I had a booster on the Monday and came down with it the following Sunday.

Feel lousy and have spent most if the time in bed. Luckily we have no children at home.

ChocChip01 · 12/10/2023 09:57

Day 4 here started with the usual COVID symptoms of sore throat, headache and high temp then started to have loose stools on day 2 (didn’t have any gastro symptoms last time so an unwelcome surprise). Hoping that side of it eases soon. Temp is back to normal, still feel tired and nose feels congested (but without the snot like with a normal cold which is weird!). Hope everyone feels better soon!

Nannyfannybanny · 12/10/2023 09:59

Smiley444, I was a week asymptomatic, and told, yes to have the booster.

MuggleMe · 12/10/2023 12:04

This is my second week off work. Still coldy but the fatigue is really getting me down.

I want to be well enough to work, but just getting the children to school is enough to need a huge nap.

HashBrownandBeans · 13/10/2023 15:13

I’m on day 4, have had to take the last three days off work unpaid so that’s fucked us now. 😫 I can only get out of bed in short bursts, just putting the washing on wiped me out. Had nausea and diarrhoea earlier today so that was nice. Felt so sick I couldn’t even open my eyes

BlastedPimples · 13/10/2023 16:42

I cannot imagine ever having energy again. I'm now negative after a week but wiped out.

Nannyfannybanny · 13/10/2023 16:48

Just read on another thread on here,"it's, NOTHING now,it's only like a cold"😡😡

Maybe describing it as 'flu is better but it isn't the same as 2020. Yes people are sick and it is crap but, currently at least, there isn't the hospitalisation or death as 2020. It isn't reasonable or realistic to ask people to isolate as suggested on that thread.

As for my symptoms, still wired, lungs which were knackered anyway are taking a beating but not as ill as last time. Do feel slightly removed from reality.

Spottywombat · 13/10/2023 21:41

I had the sore throat, chills, fever etc over the last week. But I'm very unhappy about losing my sense of taste and smell. DH very poorly.

WLAH · 14/10/2023 08:54

Tested positive this morning. Sore/tickly throat yesterday and now a cough

SafetyCar · 15/10/2023 16:55

Checking in. Tested positive 2 days ago - first ever time!

So far, it started off as a sore throat then the cough - very dry. So that was Thursday morning. Tested Friday which was positive and by this time, I had a stuffy nose. Saturday, sore throat was away but still a dry cough and blocked/ runny nose. Noticed last night at dinner I had lost my sense of smell and taste which is still gone. Still positive today and cough is now a barking cough. Still blocked and runny nose.

Oh and throughout all this, sound like I've been chain smoking lol. Poor cat just jumped out of her skin when I coughed there....

TLDRfuckers · 15/10/2023 16:58

No.

But I do have a slight headache and could do with a buddy so I feel less alone. Apologies for hi-jacking your thread.

Wonderwife · 16/10/2023 08:44

I was off work for 2 weeks, a very scarey experience where i felt was never going to get better. Glad to say i am back at work but energy levels are low. Anyone whi has it I suggest rest as much as possible, keep drinking and stay hydrated. Very little else you can do. It will pass although it's hard to feel like that when you have it.

Latethirtieslondon · 16/10/2023 10:53

I’m on day 4 of COVID, it’s worse than when I had it in 2021. Started with hot throat, tiredness and upset stomach (1 day), then moved to coughing and sneezing with streaming nose (2 days), and now intense tiredness and muscle aches (limbs feel like they weigh a ton), tight chest, headache, foggy mind (I keep misspelling things, can’t focus much), and difficulty sleeping with weird intense dreams. Not had a fever and can still taste things. Last time it took 10 days to not feel terrible, 3 weeks to be back up to speed. Hoping it’s quicker this time! It’s definitely not the mild cold everyone says it is. Wishing everyone on here a speedy recovery, and it’s helpful hearing from those who’ve recently recovered - you feel like it’ll never go when you’re in it!

WLAH · 17/10/2023 05:28

Day 4 ish here.. nose stuffed and still coughing a bit

ItsFunToBeAVampire · 17/10/2023 09:57

Just tested positive for the second time ever.

I only tested because I tried eating something strongly flavoured and couldn't taste it. I think I've had it for a few days at least and assumed it was just a cold.

Symptoms are a simultaneous blocked and runny nose, lack of taste and smell, feeling achy a couple of days ago, being shivery and cold for a day or so, head feels like it's full of cotton wool, although not painful as yet, shortness of breath, coughing.

I haven't actively had a temperature but I've just checked my Fitbit that takes my skin temp and it's been going wacky since Thursday last week, but weirdly my temp has been lower than normal instead of higher like last time.

It's a strange illness. I just hope it doesn't affect my hearing this time as I've had some permanent hearing loss since my first bout of it.

Exactly how I'm feeling - I'm on Day 5 today with a faint positive

Anyone have Covid right now?
minmooch · 17/10/2023 13:14

Day 5 for me. Was in bed all weekend. Did not work yesterday. Only managed 2 hours work today and can't manage any more.

Short of breath, lightheaded. Teeth hurt. Exhausted. Constant nausea.

Feeling very tearful.

Bassetlover · 17/10/2023 17:41

I'm so glad I've read this thread. I tested positive on Sun the 8th and had all the usual symptoms including fatigue. Was lucky to be able to take the week off and rest completely, I went back to work on Monday and I have never felt so tired, can barely keep my eyes open by 2pm despite having a good night's sleep both nights.

I previously had Covid in 2021 and bounced back pretty quickly but was shocked by how wiped out I feel this time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with extreme tiredness.

FormationLap · 17/10/2023 20:12

I'm craving chocolate so bad, it's all I can think about, but there's no point as I can't taste anything :(

BonjourPetitPois · 18/10/2023 11:09

Also glad I found this thread. Tested positive yesterday. Symptoms started like a normal cold on Sunday night/Monday with a scratchy throat. Yesterday it was a thick sore head. Then sweated through the night last night, and today the cough and runny nose has started. It's like a new symptom every day! Feel rotten and have signed off work for the rest of the week. This feels much worse than "just a cold" 🤒

WLAH · 18/10/2023 16:12

Have a weird pressure or heaviness back my head today but wouldn't call it a headache
