If you didn't get the jab, would you consider having it now?

You'd better be quick if you're healthy and under 50...

"The Telegraph understands the Government is also preparing to wind down the open offer of the first two doses over the coming months. The move will mean unvaccinated healthy under-50s will soon not be able to get a Covid jab unless one is recommended by a medical professional."

@sunglassesonthetable @Blueflag22
i wonder what compels you to take time out of your day only to add an eye roll or a personal sarcastic jab? seems like such an unproductive way to spend time. i personally am very happy to read that someone fared very well with covid vaxed or unvaxed.

I wonder what persuades someone to take time out of their day to leave a pompous and thoughtless comment like that. As if an immune system is a skill.

Maybe it effects me very directly.

I've been following this thread for a few weeks and I'll waste as much time on it as I want, cheers.

You clearly feel free to post reams regardless.

CrunchyCarrot · 06/03/2023 11:56

Natural immunity responses vary tremendously across any population. Some people will be able to mount a robust response whereas others will not. Their apparent 'healthiness' or 'fitness' or 'outward appearance' is no indicator of how they will fare. So it's a lottery!

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 12:02

exactly

*Meanwhile I'm very proud to be covid vaccine free and completely healthy even with covid, had worse flu
*

And being 'proud' that you're healthy and didn't get Covid. Even without the vax. And stating that as achievement is really really distasteful to people in the recent past who have suffered with it.

Imagine saying that about another disease! Really, just think how vile it sounds.

I'm as delighted as you are @peppathe3rd when people have dodged suffering Covid in any shape or form. But saying how 'proud' you are for not getting it. Please.

CrunchyCarrot · 06/03/2023 12:24

@Blueflag22 Meanwhile I'm very proud to be covid vaccine free

I'm curious as to why you are 'proud'? I am also 'covid vaccine free' but I'm not proud of it, it's because I have a needle phobia, which is a debilitating phobia to have during a pandemic! Fortunately I did not suffer badly with Covid, but that's just the luck of the draw. I could have had a really bad dose or even died.

I am proud of having achieved a biochemistry degree. I am proud of myself for extricating myself from an abusive marriage. I am not proud that I am too scared to be jabbed, I am embarrassed. So I don't get the being proud of not having the vaccine? Please tell me you're not one of the self-proclaimed 'Purebloods'. 🙄

MinkyGreen · 06/03/2023 12:26

Yes @sunglassesonthetable

I’m just imagining my DM hearing a comment like that when she was in agony after surgery because her hospital was so short staffed due to being overwhelmed by Covid patients.

Or my sister with her terrified DD on a Covid ward with an incredibly high temperature.

Or my DN who has balance problems since Covid and can’t concentrate on her exams.

Or a friend of my DS who lost her husband to Covid and has two young children.

peppathe3rd · 06/03/2023 13:07

@sunglassesonthetable
looks like your posts are getting deleted. i guess others don't appreciate your attitude either. @CrunchyCarrot i agree with you regarding being vaccine free. i am not proud, more relieved i guess that covid didn't hit me badly (knock on wood). i was extremely worried before contracting covid about how my immune system would react. that worry is still present as new variants emerge. however, i do find the people on here that are very pro vaccine to be difficult to communicate with. perhaps @Blueflag22 was just expressing a feeling of pride as a reaction to the onslaught?

statementstate · 06/03/2023 13:12

@peppathe3rd for your own sanity, perhaps avoid engaging in discourse with that Sunglasses individual. Whether I align with what most of the folks say on here, at least they attempt to put their points across without belittling, insulting, and adding ZERO input into the conversation. Sunglasses seems to crave attention, and thrives off the back and forth. Don't feed into it, it is time consuming and draining.

oh give over.

I'm not affecting anyone's sanity.

My 'posts aren't getting deleted' though that particular one was. At least there's two of you that agree then @peppathe3rd

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 13:26

So tedious that any push back is "attitude".

CriticalAlert · 06/03/2023 13:35

I find it astonishing that some people are anti vaccine! Do they also believe in a flat earth and leprechauns. I can't understand this level of stupidity. Shouldn't be allowed to vote!!!

thank you @statementstate. i agree and will attempt to heed your advice. i find it more difficult to ignore when it's aimed at others. i remember how i felt the first time i was on the receiving end. but, your message is very appreciated and wise. thanks very much!!

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 14:08

Don't make me laugh.

Are you the pair being deleted earlier in the thread. 😁

I have very good reason to question @Blueflag22.

peppathe3rd · 06/03/2023 14:09

maybe you're thinking of @MinkyGreen

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 14:12

There's a very superior and policing tone being taken here by posters in lieu of a decent reply.

statementstate · 06/03/2023 14:49

@peppathe3rd MinkeyGreen and I do not share the same stance on this AT ALL, but at least Minkey tries to prove their point and seems to be very dedicated to explaining where their angle comes from. Sunglasses just rides on the coat tails of others, but adds little to the discussion and instead revels in bringing forth nothing but headache inducing energy.

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 15:03

Thanks @statementstate

That's the 2nd personal tirade against me.

I thought this was about taking the Covid vaccine ?

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 15:04

Do you always do this? @statementstate

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 15:04

Is that why you were deleted before ?

MinkyGreen · 06/03/2023 15:09

Think there was a warning about derailment before, so maybe best to get back on track.

peppathe3rd · 06/03/2023 15:11

@statementstate

i totally agree with you regarding sunglasses. you've described their posts perfectly. i respect that we differ ideologically (what i gathered from your post), but that hasn't prevented you from remaining polite and civil and for that i thank you!

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 15:21

@peppathe3rd @statementstate Honestly you two, you're hilarious.

My point remains.

You don't win prizes for your immune system. It is insensitive to self congratulate on a public board and despite the many, many who have suffered as a result of Covid.

It is the same attitude really that says " well it was only a mild cold for me " so that's all it actually is.

sunglassesonthetable · 06/03/2023 15:27

but that hasn't prevented you from remaining polite and civil and for that i thank you!

Not to me! 😄

I will tell you why I'm proud. I'm proud because in the face of propaganda and taking away my right to have a say of what I put in my body I stood my ground. My chances of dying if covid is no more than me dying suddenly, in a car crash and or any other disease as life shown me, sadly seen people pass in the last 2 years and not one was covid. I took some abuse, couldn't apply to a certain job but was told that I mm brave and hopefully the whole mandatory vaccine will be dropped, as they also had people leave. I'm proud because I DECIDE what I put in my body and yes there are doctors and medical professional saying that this vaccine was no where need tested long term, vaccines take a minimum of 7 years. I respect anyone that wanted to take as it's their decision but don't anyone dare take my right to me saying no. I've taken plenty of others for travel etc but they've been through such rigorous safety checks. I am not taking away anyone's right time their decision on taking it but I'm allowed to be proud considering they wanted no one to have a choice.
