AIBU to wonder if WFH will return due to Kraken?

Hello :)

Although there is the encouragement of wearing masks again. Currently in this season we have flu, strep A, various viruses and now, Kraken Covid...

Am I being unreasonable to think that those, like me who were shielding will need to WFH rather than be hybrid? or do you think that Hybrid will continue?

TIA

Not everyone can WFH.

tiredmama23 · 05/01/2023 15:23

I thought this was going to be about drinking rum when WFH 😂

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 05/01/2023 15:26

Pennyforthezombies · 05/01/2023 15:28

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/01/2023 15:28

Kraken covid?

PeekAtYou · 05/01/2023 15:28

Only half of jobs in the UK can be done at home so I suspect that it will be employee dependent.

FrogChorusSoprano · 05/01/2023 15:28

Our work are being pretty short sighted about this, get everyone in, five days a week, coughing and spluttering all over eachother. We also work alongside doctors who need to be in work, so if I give my cough or cold to one of them, that's another strain on the NHS.
I think in the winter months, those with jobs that don't need to be done in the workplace should minimise time in the office, for the good of the nhs, climate change and air pollution.

Do we get free rum or do we have to pay for it? 🤔 Ooh, we could be like sailors and get a half pint each morning.

CountZacular · 05/01/2023 15:29

I assumed it's all doom and gloom, so you meant an actual kraken. I'd remain at home too!

Worldgonecrazy · 05/01/2023 15:30

Kraken covid??? 0/10 to whoever was given the job of coming up with a suitable name to scare the public.

Saucery · 05/01/2023 15:31

It’s ok. Godzilla Covid will defeat it.

DIceDaisy · 05/01/2023 15:33

Why has the covid subvariant XBB.1.5 been nicknamed 'the Kraken'?

The Kraken is a legendary octopus-like sea monster.

When Omicron first emerged in 2021, experts compared it to a monster, Professor Woolhouse noted.

Brilliant, 🤣

Greatly · 05/01/2023 15:35

The name Kraken Covid just makes me so annoyed. Just go away.

Giveaschitt · 05/01/2023 15:36

Attacked by sea monsters? Yes, maybe.
A variant of covid that is apparently no more likely to cause serious illness than previous variants? Nah, I think you're ok...

DalmationStation · 05/01/2023 15:36

Does Kraken show on lateral flows?

x2boys · 05/01/2023 15:38

My dh,was put on the shielding list in 2021,he works in a ware house as an operative ,how can be work from home?

HermioneWeasley · 05/01/2023 15:40

Those who are CEV have all had 4 jabs. Shielding is over but if you want to WFH you should speak to your employer not ask MN for permission

It seems quite highly pressured in your role. With those in similar situations to yourself having a knock on effect is difficult to deal with especially with mental health, targets and sickness.

Your solution is good.
