Hello :)

Although there is the encouragement of wearing masks again. Currently in this season we have flu, strep A, various viruses and now, Kraken Covid...

Am I being unreasonable to think that those, like me who were shielding will need to WFH rather than be hybrid? or do you think that Hybrid will continue?

TIA

I hope not - going into the office and seeing other people twice a week keeps me relatively sane! No way do I want to go back to WFH home full time

It’s ok. Godzilla Covid will defeat it.

I'd pay good money to see that movie 🤣

I need to commue to office 2 days a week, which takes me 5 hours daily by train and bus. I hope it does come in, as sitting on public transport isnt exactly ideal when so much covid/flu around.

The Kraken ? Really?

Must be this guy's fault!

I work in a school. We should never, ever, close schools again. The damage to kids will take years to fix.

@Mrsjayy

I am not sure for those who cannot work from home. I cannot remember last time, but those who were clinically vulnerable in front line jobs, were they sent home on sick or holiday pay?

Furthermore, many councils have organisations have sold off buildings due to wfh and introduced hotdesking/hybrid.

Our local council have closed their fucking offices over holiday periods - and sent all THEIR staff to use the NHS bases to save on their fucking utility bills.

Would also help if the government sorted out the train strikes, people having to pile on overcrowded buses is just going to exacerbate the situation.

Dh just retired from outsourcing.

If you can do your job working from home then anyone comparable can do your job for far less money and benefits in Asia and India etc. be careful what you wish for. They are often better qualified with a better work ethic too.

Prefer Bacardi myself. Probably a good idea to WFH after a heavy session rather than drive if the trains are on strike.

Wfh is looking likely in my office for the forseeable. Cant say I mind as the commute was a killer.
