I've got Covid and feel horrendous and it's only day 2!

I'm 53, no health issues and tested positive on Tuesday for the 1st time. I'm triple vaccinated and I feel absolutely awful, I can't stop coughing, I ache, I'm tired, no appetite and just want it to be over. Paracetamol does nothing, I feel panicked when I'm coughing to. I can breathe OK without tightness or wheezing which is a relief. I really hope its not worse tomorrow as its grim now. My 15 year old DD is on day 6 and she was really poorly to, it knocked her off her feet and she's very fit and healthy. I just need a handhold I think to see me through 😊

@Furcoatandnoknickerz I was still testing positive at that point too, and feeling pretty rotten. Definitely felt like I turned a corner a few days after that, so hang in there!

I still feel awful and its day 9 since I tested and day 11 since I first felt crappy. Was supposed to go on holiday today so now wasting my annual leave. Have been working from home last 3 days rather than off sick as can't take more sick days as already on official warning for exceeding allowed days this year.

@RaininSummer I was supposed to coming back off holiday today, but we didn’t even get there, lost all our money. The holiday village refused to move to another date , gave us three very recent options ( like today! ) at an extra £300. No kind of refund at all , they were happy for us to turn up with Covid ! Should have taken holiday insurance, never expected to be blatantly robbed.
I have Covid, feel rotten, lost my holiday and money and managers being an arse…..things can only get better……you’d think! 🙂

Oh no Furcoat. That sucks. I am still hoping we might be able to go for a few days but too dizzy to drive right now.

I returned to work after four days off (WFH) but wish I’d rested more TBH. Not felt terrible - I’d say worse than a cold but not as bad as flu. Having thought I was in the mend after 9/10 days last night was like day two - very congested and limited lung capacity plus very anxious and found it difficult to get to sleep.

I'm back at work and I suppose on day 10 since starting to feel rough. I feel ok until about this time every day and then all my limbs start to feel like lead, and I get hot and headachey til bedtime. It can do one. I hope this part clears off soon as I can't get anything done past 3pm

I just had the new spikevax booster and am feeling similar to a lot of you! Headache, joint pain - especially hips and pelvis, fatigue, nausea, racing heart.

Anyone else had skin peeling from their hands?!

I'm now testing negative and feeling better than I have for 10 days.
Still coughing a lot. Tired but completely exhausted.

Day 4 or 5 and I’m feeling worse than I was at the start today ☹️. Frustrated as I’ve heard people are shifting it quicker now so I feel I should be starting to feel better !

Tested positive today very faint line . Just tested again and it showed nothing . I have all the symptoms cough , tight chest , pain in back and shivers now . Was in close contact on Tuesday and symptoms started yesterday. Is it normal to have a positive then a negative hours later . Feel rotten

Can I join? First timer, day 4. Headache and cough largely gone today. Had shivers and fever the first night but not since. What's still very much there is a jet-lag type wooziness, like a wave of fatigue, if I try to do anything, even go to the bathroom. I also can't sleep - it's like I've had 3 coffees... eyes jerking open, spasms of movement like legs twitching violently, butterflies in stomach. Tea, coffee and certain foods taste revolting. Can't eat more than half a portion of anything. I'm self employed freelance and clients are understanding to an extent but dreading the piling up of work and of domestic stuff. DH has Covid too but 5 days ahead of me so starting to feel better. I'm staying away from the DC which is sad - DS is only 7 and likes mummy hugs.

COVID virgin 👋 I thought I was immune and had COVID superpowers!
D 1-3 really high temp. Bastard headache. Insomnia. Exhaustion. Body aches. Weird twang in my mouth. Very limited smell/taste. Limited appetite in morning then zero appetite. Listless.
D 4 Coughing. Slightly lower temp. No appetite except for morning. Body aches. Limited taste/smell. Weird twang in mouth getting weirder. No interest in tv/entertainment etc.

Have had to work through it. Thought I was going to die at my laptop. Kids seemed to have escaped any symptoms.

Also a Covid virgin and also thought I might have super immunity. Everyone in the house has had it at various points and everyone I work with (school). I feel like I’ve got the flu (day one). Hot one minute, shivering the next, achy. I feel like someone’s taken a sledge hammer to my face and have random stabbing pains in one ear and under my ribs. Feeling sorry for myself and frustrated that I can’t organise my rabble!

Oh, and a jowly feeling and manky throat!

its My first time too . Cough is horrible and harsh . Fatigue is unreal . Did have a shower and hair wash just while I aired my bed . No real appetite either which is just aswell as nobody has actually offered me even a cup of tea . I shouted to DH earlier what was he getting for dinner and he told me he had a bar meal of roast pork when he went shopping ! I make a trip to the kitchen occasionally and wipe after me whatever I touch.

Dh just tested positive today
Yesterday had allergiy symptoms as near a dog and he is allergic ,he thought ok this morning then pm , runny nose and cough , did a test and instant positive, 2nd time
I am now sneezing but we only had the one test , which was left over in the car
On holiday as well and have to tell them tomorrow and policy seems to be we are expected to leave but no money back
Lots of walks here and easy to keep away from others and we also have masks etc

Started to feel better today. I woke up and could tell immediately that the head fuzziness had gone. Still coughing and tired but feel much more normal. This is day 12. Our holiday is dead in the water though as OH is still poorly.

Day 7 or 8 here. No fever since Friday morning. Less congested, but still unpleasant. Cough is intermittent. Sense of taste might be slightly better than it was. However still getting headaches, dizziness and feel absolutely exhausted.

I'm managing to potter about the house a bit, and have been for a short walk (very quiet, semi rural, no people) but have no idea how I will manage a full day's work tomorrow. I'm fortunate enough to be able to take another day's self-cert if I need to but would prefer not to have to.

Day 5 - feeling considerably better physically but mentally overwhelmed and stressed out. We're having building work done so the house is a total and utter state, usual weekly clean didn't happen, kids getting narky with each other. It's unpleasant, though I know the whole thing will get better with time. We've just got to wait.

I am on day 12 and I am still coughing with a tight chest and with no energy. Everything is taking ages as I can't hurtle about as I normally do.

I tested positive this morning, but this is day 6 of symptoms for me. I’m wondering if it’s because we broke out the newer nasal only test kit, whereas when I tested yesterday it was the old throat and nose swab which was -ve. I only bothered testing at all because it felt like I was getting a bad cold (and I suffer quite badly with colds), but with my usual cold pattern, the sore throat eases as the cold symptoms come out, but in this case, the sore throat has stayed, despite sneezing and runny nose.

I had one day (Thursday), where out of nowhere, all my muscles started aching, particularly pelvis, hips and neck) and my hands and feet went white with cold and I sat holding a hot water bottle and they didn’t warm up. I also had shooting pains in my head and stinging eyes. Thursday evening, I went to bed and sweated without the covers on for two hours, then when I woke up in the morning, hands and feet had warmed up and the aches had gone. I have a bit of a cough now and normal cold symptoms.

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? I just can't get comfortable and keep getting a rushing, bubbling, butterfly feeling in my tummy and down my legs and arms. Anyone else have this?

On day 14, two negative tests, but I’m starting to feel worse, no sign of getting better at all . Tired, dizzy, shaky, can’t function unless sat down watching tv, stand up and feel like I could pass out. Heart rate and breathing not right.
Has anyone called 111 and what’s the outcome?

@33goingon64 i was but a friend recommended to me a piriton last night and I slept like a log for once . I’m taking lempsip every 4 hours and using vick rub on chest and throat . All my symptoms have improved except for energy levels which are non existent. I will be working from home for the week as I can’t afford to take time off now .

@Furcoatandnoknickerz that sounds like it’s dragging on a lot . Maybe a call to your doc is in order
