Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

The lethargy along with the covid head are probably the worst for me, I literally feel like s zombie. Found myself just staring into space with my mouth open for a bit haha, attractive.
I just purchased NAC, took one... probs take another later, fingers crossed they help. Other than that I'm on the vit c and zinc capsules, and just got some vit d along with the multivitamin xxx

I think I found the nausea the worst symptom for me. Or maybe the headache. Fortunately they were both short-lived, and nothing compared with the horrors some of you have been enduring (some posts from various posters actually made me cry, as it's sounded so terrible)
I hope your new supplement regime helps. I increased my vitamin D over the last few days, as generally I'm getting loads from the sun in summer, which I've been denied since the positive test, as I've been isolating at home, and I live in a flat. I was longing for fresh air, so when I woke up at around 2am for the loo, I went out and looked at the sea. I live opposite the beach, and the coast in the middle of the night (nobody around) is possibly as safe an adventure as any, Covid-wise!
I'm desperately hoping to test negative tomorrow 🙏
Hoping for a better day for all of you tomorrow ❤️

So sorry to hear this 😔 I hope you all recover fully very soon

Madhairday · 16/07/2022 10:10

Oh I hope your baby recovers quickly OP 😢 so sad to see little ones suffer.

I'm day 10 now, still positive. Still feel like an elephant on my chest - it turned into a full blown infection so now on antibiotics. Just feel like a wind could blow me over. Trying to get up the stairs yesterday I had to go up on at a time on my bum. This is just crazy and so exhausting, I just want to feel a bit normal.

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 16/07/2022 10:19

I'm say 8 and it's the first negative test I've had. I feel absolutely fine now.
DS has an awful cough. He is on day 6 and still testing positive. Hope he has a good day today 🤞

Get well soon everyone Flowers

How is everyone today? Brew (Could just about smell the coffee!!)

I feel a bit more lively! I’m really tired as I felt a bit nervous to drift off due to sore chest and the constant smell of cigarettes up my nose making me feel sick!

Today still have the weird flashes in my vision, aches and shooting pains have subsided a fair bit, nose feels dry and blocked but not blocked; very odd. Sore chest, dry throat woke me up through night.

Feeling ok today, although struggling with achy joints again. My hips/thighs are killing me. I still don't have a lot of energy but am just grateful I'm coming out the other side of it. Just hope I never get it again, worries me when I hear of people getting it 2 or 3 times.

How far are you into your infection?

I got symptoms on July the 4th and tested positive on the 6th. I probably wou9have tested positive from the 4th but I never considered covid as a possibility.

I am at the end of the second week. The infectious period should be over now. I think I am on the mend but my god, my body aches so much. My lower back is the main pain area. My hips and my knees too.

I'm on day 7 (tested positive last Sunday). The only way I can get Comfy is to lay flat on my back. Is so frustrating as I don't feel too bad other than that.

Someone I work with his wife is a paramedic and she's on her 5th bout of covid it's like she's caught every strain going!

Day 6 and starting to feel better, cold symptoms are on the way out but still exhausted but have been able to eat more. I really think the government need to bring mask wearing on public transport and crowded places for a while just to damp down the spread, not good for the economy if everyone’s off sick every few months.

Fantasticday74 · 16/07/2022 14:32

@TinaWeymouthsBass yes. I am on day 8 now and feeling better so I have been out as allowed but I wore a mask. People looked at me as if I was a nutter.

@TinaWeymouthsBass in my job I have to travel a lot and I normally drive but with the fuel cost increases I thought for the longer journeys I'd start getting the train now and then. I got the train for the first time to Manchester on 5th July then tested positive just before midnight on 8th I am putting my money on that's where I caught it from, on the trains!
Lesson learned. I will go back to driving everywhere now

I’m on day 8 and still testing positive.
Symptoms have been cough, headache, stuffy nose, diarrhoea and temperature. The temperature has gone and everything else is a bit better but still there but the lethargy OMG! I woke up this morning at 10.30am (unheard of) staggered downstairs, dh made me some weetabix which I ate and then went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Then dh (superstar) made me some lunch. Ate that, dozed some more and now I’m sitting in the shade in the garden which is about all I can manage. I’m SO BORED and tired and fed up!

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 16/07/2022 16:17

@Kaileighohkaileigh can you send your DH to spend some time with mine please to teach him a thing or two... 😳

Day 4 here. Triple vaxxed, woke up with a cough on Tuesday, negative lft, felt progressively worse ( blocked up, exhausted, runny nose, headache) and had a big fat positive on Thursday, within seconds of taking the test.

Lost almost all sense of taste and smell today, tired, headachey and - like a lot of other posters - really weepy and getting emotional at the slightest thing. Interesting new symptom. Also loss of appetite, lethargy and achey joints. Covid bingo!

Hope everybody starts to feel better soon.

Kaileighohkaileigh · 16/07/2022 17:44

@ijustcouldntthinkofausername He has been really kind I have to say! Much more gracious than I was when I was cooking etc for him and ds when they had it last year, I may have mentioned I felt like a slave Grin

RestingMurderousFace · 16/07/2022 18:06

I’ve had it for the first time too, reckon I picked it up last week in the local chemist. Just done a test to confirm. Feeling a bit tired but pretty okayish now considering. Seemed to cycle through a fair few unpleasant symptoms pretty quickly, odd but nothing unmanageable. Double vaccinated.

AhaLyn · 16/07/2022 18:40

The complete loss of smell and taste is more depressing than I could have imagined. Trying to breath in fresh air in the garden which is usually uplifting and smells lovely but it smells of nothing/chemically. I’m sure some of the emotional feeling is the brain processing a big input to the world suddenly being missing.

Madhairday · 16/07/2022 20:20

I'm on day 10, still positive. But for the first time I've felt like I might be improving today. It's been hideous, every minute of it.

AhaLyn · 16/07/2022 20:22

@Madhairday Oh that’s good to hear Smile

thiskiwicanfly · 16/07/2022 21:10

I thought I was just sero-converting from my 4th vaccine on Thursday, then feeling miserable but negative on Friday. Saturday I tested positive. So now it’s Sunday and I have a banging headache that won’t go away and a hacking cough that makes my throat sore. And alternating between freezing and burning up. And only on Friday I was saying how lucky I was to never have had it despite being frontline medical staff - that’ll teach me!
