Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

WanderingFruitWonderer · 14/07/2022 17:43

Yes, I've seen your posts too @Madhairday and it looks like you've been through hell with this. I'm so sorry 😔
When I read some of your posts, it really put my relatively mild case in perspective, and I'm trying not to grumble so much. I sincerely hope you make a full recovery very soon Flowers

Madhairday · 14/07/2022 18:41

Thank you both for your kind words. Hope you feel better soon too.
It has been really hideous. Not looking forward to the heat next week!

AhaLyn · 14/07/2022 21:32

I must say I’ve seriously had enough of this covid bollocx now, horrible back pain now, yippee Hmm

Magic1231 · 15/07/2022 11:19

Hows everyone doing today?xxx

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/07/2022 11:30

I had a very faint positive yesterday and the day before. Putting off testing today until after lunch.

I'm pretty much fully recovered but I didn't have much in the way of symptoms so was very lucky in comparison to most of you. I'm just fed up of hibernating in my bedroom at this stage plus I'm meant to be going away on sunday.

Day 6 or 7 for me and I thought I was on the mend but I seem to have had a bit of a downward turn since lunchtime.

Day 8 and I woke up coughing and very flemmy when I’ve barely coughed for days. It’s the gift that keeps on giving! Also experiencing nausea still can eat though. Taking Sudafed for sinus relief.

Much better in myself last 3 days though. Have rested a lot and I’ve done some basic cleaning last two days for just a short time to get me moving.

Interesting how similar some peoples covid week have been!

Most of my other symptoms have eased today (day 7) but I now feel incredibly nauseous and light headed. Slightly upset tummy too. This really is a nasty virus. I can't read because my vision seems blurred.

The nausea and lightheaded thing is so weird!! Lucky it’s not stopped me eating tho!

They were my main symptoms too. The blurred vision is really weird. That seems to have cleared up at least for me (day 9).

ParrotsAteThemAll · 15/07/2022 12:26

First time getting Covid here and I’ve worked on covid wards/ICU since the start! Really thought I was immune to it!

I tested positive Wednesday but looking back I had symptoms since the weekend that I put down to other things, loose stools/headache/tiredness. My sinuses are the main problem now, felt I’d been hit my a bus this morning (Friday) and felt very nauseous too. I’ve lost my taste and smell today and have developed a slight chesty cough, really hoping things don’t get worse as it’ll be hell with this heatwave we’re expecting.

Ive been taking cold and flu tablets that are helping and just lounging around watching rubbish telly!

Magic1231 · 15/07/2022 12:30

I'm day 8, I just seem to be feeling the same each day, consistently awful. I'm so wiped out and feel like lead. The covid brain is horrible... it's like, is this just my life now?! Glad a few of you seem to be recovering, bloody covid xxx

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/07/2022 12:39

Just tested and I'm finally negative. Day 8.

BlackandJello · 15/07/2022 12:39

DH picked it up on holiday in Gran Canaria last week after avoiding it so far.

So far I am OK, still haven't had it despite being front line NHS. DC have all had it, most recent being DS in March.

I keep telling myself I am super immune 😁

wishingitwasfriday · 15/07/2022 13:41

Day 6 for me and I'm feeling much brighter. Still have a cough and tight chest but overall am feeling much improved. My OH now has it but I'm much milder than me.
Haven't tested today as running out of tests. Will test on Sunday as due back to work on Monday.
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

mcallister · 15/07/2022 13:52

Day 8 for me and testing negative. I've gone from feeling dreadful yesterday to feeling about 95% ok today. Very relieved.

Yeah, I thought I was super immune too. Admittedly I'm not front line healthcare but I'm an academic who was exposed to the spluttering, spewing, cesspit that was our student body.

So I guess stay relatively cautious.

Similar here. Yesterday was an instant bright positive, today it is really faint. (Have to test for work)

I'm still coughing but most other symptoms have eased. It does help that I am in the NE and it is not as hot here today. My head hurts, but it always does.

Hows everyone doing today?xxx

I'm actually loads better. The difference between yesterday and today is huge. Day 4 for me, so judging by other posts on here, I realise I'm one of the really fortunate ones. My only remaining symptoms now really are mild muscle weakness, and slightly sensitive tummy.
I was hesitant to admit to my swift recovery, and almost feel guilty. But I decided it's good for those who've just tested positive to see there's a huge range, and it isn't all bad news - not guaranteed 10 days or so of misery.
I'm tempted to test today, but I've only got two tests left, so I'll hang on till tomorrow morning.
So many Flowers for those who are having a particularly rough time. You have both my sympathy and empathy ❤️

Day 5 for me slept slightly better and not coughing as much but the fatigue has gone into overdrive, so exhausted legs feel like jelly, I’m quite fit I usually do 3 British military boot camp work outs a week and never sit down so to be stuck on the sofa struggling to climb the stairs is really upsetting, I really don’t want to experience this again.

Magic1231 · 15/07/2022 15:59

@WanderingFruitWonderer Aww don't feel guilty! That's amazing you're feeling better, I dont want anyone to be feeling like me haha. I still think for the vast majority it does go like that, just the odd few that get it worse, sympathy to my fellow sufferers ❤
What vitamins are you all taking?xxx

Thank you ❤️
Loads of supplements! Whether they're helping or not I don't know; but I guess it can't hurt.
So, vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, NAC (I swear by that) and a probiotic pill each morning. I can't afford any of this, and I've probably bankrupted myself! But, I guess you can't put a price on your health!

Take care and get well soon

AhaLyn · 15/07/2022 16:16

NHS too and thought I would have had it by now,

Not sure what day I’m on, 5 I think, still strong positive test. Lost taste and smell today, replaced with some vile smell the virus has gifted me, thaaanks. Sore cramps mid upper abdomen which is not very nice. Liquid stools. Wobbly sort of feeling. Chest feels like I have been somewhere smoky and feels ‘full.’

Hoping it eases soon for us all.

You poor thing. I'm so sorry. Hang on in there, and cling to the knowledge that this will soon be a distant, dream-like memory. Sending healing vibes through the ether Flowers

JustDanceAddict · 15/07/2022 16:24

Day 7 of symptoms for me and feel so much better I actually felt OK wfh this morning.
The lethargy is much less and I’m resting now because I’ve been advised to by colleagues who’ve had it rather than because I can’t function. I def feel more
‘Myself’.
Still feel a bit coldy but dh said I sound much better as well.
Have been drinking tonnes of water to flush myself out(!) also have v dry mouth which I had in March w a cold (tested neg on pcr despite same symptoms as ds who had covid then) hence the drinking as well.
just hope I don’t develop any weird late symptoms!
