Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

We have all just tested positive after returning from Spain😩I'm sore from my head to my toes. The baby has it too, he seems to have a temp with it 39.9 at last check😩😢
i feel worse this time than when I had it when I was pregnant and unvaccinated🙄

Best thing to focus on is practicalities. Little things- like the happy meal- that make you feel better.

Thank goodness for online shopping and deliveries. We've had no concern about feeding ourselves, or all the other panics earlier in the pandemic.

And it's so reassuring to know that treatments and vaccinations have advanced so effectively. Don't get me wrong, it's pants, I'd rather not have it, but it isn't the terrifying experience it would have been a couple of years ago.

Food is a bit of an issue. Because we were going on holiday tomorrow everything was run down so we literally have some tomato's and pasta for this evening Confused

No family close so at the moment trying to get a slot for tomorrow but not proving very easy. Looks like deliveroo will be busy!

Meowser72 · 23/06/2022 16:17

@elephantmarchingin its not selfish to take him out swimming later on. Do it, as long as you don’t think others will be around. If you have the Tesco delivery saver you can get short notice slots. Yesterday afternoon I booked one for this afternoon because we ran out of fruit. I also find that Ocado often have slots for the next day. Appreciate this varies by area tho.

Chevyimpala67 · 23/06/2022 16:43

Anyones ears really congested too?

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 16:48

Yes, Chevy! Head in a bucket, feeling.

Still, it's all in line with a heavy cold. Unpleasant but not alarming.

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 17:53

I'm so bored I actually feel like a drink. Anyone else? Have a feeling my taste/smell is slightly screwed, so not sure it'd taste nice, but it would cheer up my dreary week, that's for sure.

Meowser72 · 23/06/2022 18:25

I'm so bored...I wouldn't mind a glass of wine but can't justify opening a bottle when it would be just me drinking it.
I should be doing something productive but I'm just bumming around on the internet looking at social media and photos of Harry Styles ....

lightisnotwhite · 23/06/2022 18:42

Me! Not had it ever despite working with teens. Only dud a test because I felt a bit shit and we had loads in class,
Never guessed it would be positive. Gutted. Missing my students Leavers Day, dinner with lovely friends and husband due back from abroad after2 weeks. He’s off again Saturday and gets tested before he goes so that’s that.

Has anyone else slept all day?

I slept until after 12, at which point the bf woke me up because he was worried about me.

Then I was awake until about 3. Then asleep since then, just woke up again and now he is bringing me soup and toast. Defo due another sleep after that!

Bit miserable...

historyofthefuture · 23/06/2022 19:55

Day 6 here - headaches and fever chills have gone, but completely exhausted; fine when sitting on the sofa/in bed, but even a short walk to the kitchen wipes me out :(

Any advice on pulse oximeters.

DH seems to change by the second and dependent on the finger. He's ranging from 92-98! Seems to tend to settle on 94/95 eventually but different every time. Should we call anyone?

Dr told me today to get meducal advice once sats hit 90.

Apparently 94 upwards is classed as normal.

Tips to get 02 sats up...cough, stand up, get some fresh air

Mrsmch123 · 23/06/2022 20:01

@elephantmarchingin does he have any underlying health conditions? Is he short of breath?how's his colour around his nose/lips?
I wouldn't worry with an average of 94/95.

jano69 · 23/06/2022 20:04

Day 3 here. Crashing headache has eased. Developed a cough and snotty nose. Very fatigued.

The fever has gone.

Thank for for vaccines!

I have been crippled with covid anxiety for over 2.5 years. When I tested positive on Tuesday, I was remarkably calm, almost excited, to finally meet my demon and tell him to fuck right off.

I'm lying in bed now with a magnum ice cream and a good book.

The washing can wait. Everything can wait. I'm resting and getting better.

elephant, hope you got to the beach and bought that Happy Meal!

jano69 · 23/06/2022 20:05

Sorry, I posted before seeing elephant's latest update.... hope it didn't read as insensitive.

jano69 · 23/06/2022 20:07

I don't think those readings don't give cause for concern elephant....

elephantmarchingin · 23/06/2022 20:09

@Mrsmch123 he's always had poor circulation. Just done it again and it's 97/96 so seems to be very different each time.

Colour and a fine if not a little pale but nothing unusually. He says he feels ok, a little heady/spacey but he is suffering sinus side of things so nothing too horrific I don't think.

Maybe I just need to stop checking!

@jano69 I went and got a happy meal but we decided to stay away from a walk

jano69 · 23/06/2022 20:12

That's good elephant...

AnxiousMummy91 · 23/06/2022 20:22

Day 6 here. First timer. Had cold symptoms all week but tested and was negative. Then woke up Saturday feeling like I'd been hit by a train, everything ached even my fingers. We were due to go and visit DHs 93 yr old gran who is in a nursing home so had to test anyway, and yep, strong positive line.
Days 1-4 were aches, exhaustion, headache, cough, snot snot snot and congestion. Oh and also going dizzy any time I vaguely bent over.
Past couple of days have been headache, neck ache, dizzyness and just totally exhausted and wiped out, with the worst brain fog. Cant get through the day without 1 nap minimum. No appetite at all throughout, which is so unusual for me. I don't lose my appetite for anything.
Have been off sick all week, even though I could WFH as I work evenings in a call centre and just could not hack customers complaining. Told work it ain't happening tomorrow either.
Still a strong positive today. Hoping to be better/clear by Tuesday when I'm due back in work after the weekend.

Anyone else got itchy inner ears sort of connected to the sore throat? I’ve opened a bottle of wine, I’ll only have a glass but just fancied it. Currently eating my dinner sat in the gazebo, love a bit of al fresco. The other half has a run on Sunday he really wants to get a pb for so we’re trying everything to avoid him getting it.

BruceAndNosh · 23/06/2022 20:49

Nasal saline spray is good for dealing with snot.
Makes it loose enough to blow or sniff rather than solid gunk

I've got quite sore ears...I'm assuming it's referred pain from my throat

jano69 · 23/06/2022 21:04

I registered my positive LFT earlier today and was invited to participate in this trial.

www.panoramictrial.org

Paracetamol is working fine for me but thought I'd share for anyone else who's interested.

Alfresco dining sounds a good way of passing the time Haphazard.

Haphazardhacker · 23/06/2022 21:25

Hoping I’ll fall asleep in a bit and awaken to the dawn chorus. Although I’m usually such a cold person I’d probably awaken at midnight shivering my tits off :)
