Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

Yes you can @bubblicious3

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 07:56

Wait, WHAT? Lower back pain is a thing with covid now is it?

Wonder if it had anything to do with my back giving out yesterday...

My lower back and kidney area was very sore on Tuesday.

tmi I've just coughed up some yellowy gunge. Delightful.

I got my phenergan online (my local tiny pharmacy is rubbish)

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 08:10

I was coughing up pale yellow stuff yesterday. Can't believe how sore my throat is still! But I have managed to put on clothes and am sitting at my laptop working.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 08:11

I could be wrong, @Firesidefox but isn't it when there's white pussy spots?

I just know that I've ignored sore throats in the past because I had a virus, only to be told I was at risk of getting a quinsy and to take antibiotics.

Me either
It's awful
You are a ⭐️ for working through this! (But...should you be?)

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 08:17

I've been keeping an eye on emails, and helping with anything time sensitive. Not doing any actual thinking though. That would not end well!

I've watered the garden, got the gloves and secateurs out then gone back to bed without doing anything. I can get about 5 mins sensible activity out of myself before crumpling.

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 08:51

Hmm I can't really see the back of my throat where it hurts @picklemewalnuts Will assume it's not that for now I think!

I know what you mean about working @Chevyimpala67 but we're a small team and it needs to be done. Might slope back to bed and watch the last two episodes of After Life this afternoon if things look calm...

Chevyimpala67 · 23/06/2022 07:22

Me too!

Me three !!

I hadn’t heard lower back pain was a thing with this covid

but ouch it’s sore !

Schmz · 23/06/2022 09:11

libbytrois · 23/06/2022 07:27

Banging head here too. Painkillers not really helping. Symptoms started Saturday and I could cope with most apart from this 😞. Migraine sufferer so perhaps I'm effected worse?

I get migraines
and the covid headache I got on day 1 and 2 was worse than migraine !

i think it was dehydration??

Allfurcoatandnoknickers · 23/06/2022 09:17

I had the back ache. I’m struggling to do anything Day 4 here- just feel like I’ve got jet lag without the fun of being on holiday.
DH started now and he’s coughing - mine thankfully hasn’t gone on chest as I’ve got lung damage - all seems in my sinuses

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 09:21

DH decided to assume he'd caught it too, and slacked off a bit at work (from home). It hasn't progressed in anyway though, so he's starting to think it's psychosomatic.

If only there were an easy way to check.

Mejuliene · 23/06/2022 09:24

Day 7 feeling I'll here but only day 3 since testing positive and I feel much better today still a little snotty and throat a bit sore but in the old days would have just shrugged off as a slight cold

When my head was really banging at the weekend my niece dropped off some 4head strips and these really helped along with rubbing an ice cube over back of neck

Hope everyone is feeling better soon

Chevyimpala67 · 23/06/2022 09:26

How's everyone's 02 sats?

Mine are hovering at 95

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 09:27

Hahaha @picklemewalnuts

maeveiscurious · 23/06/2022 09:46

worriedatthistime · 23/06/2022 10:05

How long from contact to getting symptoms/ positive test did people take

elephantmarchingin · 23/06/2022 10:05

Tested positive this morning Sad gutted as supposed to be going on holiday tomorrow

Firesidefox · 23/06/2022 10:07

I haven't checked my sats but did just now and it said 99.

That's terrible luck about your holiday @elephantmarchingin I'm so sorry.

@worriedatthistime I think I caught it on Thursday, felt dodgy Friday night and all of Saturday but didn't test positive til Sunday morning.

Fairly sure my eldest ds brought it home from a music festival he attended over 10-12th June.
He started feeling ill on 15th June.
I started feeling ill on 20th June.
So from our experience 3-5 days?

Letsbekindplease · 23/06/2022 10:10

My partner has just tested positive. We have just welcomes our baby girl a few days ago. I’m really worried that he’s passed it to her. I am fully vaccinated and this was done when pregnant so assuming she has been passed the antibodies. Also had covid whilst pregnant too (he managed to miss it, but it’s got him now).

I don’t even know the rules around covid now. I don’t think he will venture out anywhere. Just so upset if baby gets it.

Ds1: snotty, cough, headache, bad sore throat. No temp, no sats issues.
Dh: snotty and cough says he feels fine
Me: cough, really bad sore throat, headache, lower back ache, very high hr and bp 2 days ago, temperature
Just hoping ds2 doesn't get it (he had delta back in September...)

Ask your midwife for advice.
