Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

Good luck worn your drip @mrsfeatherbottom

And get well soon to those really suffering. I'm day 9 and feel so ku better, though still a bit phlegmy. I will go back to the office on Weds.

Only thing providing much relief is Boots own brand Lemsip Max drink with juice of a whole lemon and a dessert spoon of honey mixed in. I'm finding it's reliving symptoms within about ten minutes and lasting a good 4-5 hours.

Covid virgin here, felt rough since 21st June so am a week in now. I have a 4 month old exclusively breastfed baby who wakes me 4 times a night and doesn’t nap for more than 30 mins straight in the day - so am not getting the rest I need to recover swiftly - but grateful I didn’t catch it when pregnant

I’m feeling much better today. Not going in tomorrow but back Weds. I found wine helped a lot. Weirdly I didn’t feel any after effects either although maybe that’s because I’m drinking a ton of water.

Day 7 today, I felt much better yesterday evening and planning to work today. Last night I woke up bathed in sweat and painful coughing which was scary. Blood gas and temperature normal this morning.

I felt scared last night

I still feel awful on day 5. Am eligible for treatment so have to call the hospital tomorrow if I feel I need it and can go up on Wednesday to get a drip. Apparently I can't get the tablets because of other medication I'm on so I think it would be antibodies, as opposed to antivirals.

I was eligible for treatment but the risks seemed high when discussed with team

Day 9
here
still feeling nauseas and weak
but feeling more alive than I have since the covid hit !!
very very faint line on LFT today and it was a strong positive yesterday so my body must be clearing it now - hooray 😃

Meowser72 · 28/06/2022 09:30

Day 7. Feel fine apart from there is catarrh on my chest in the mornings and evenings. But still testing positive. Really fed up about that 🙁. I am also running the house solo ... DH tested pos on Friday and has spent the whole time since then resting. I tested pos Weds (symptoms Tues, so am counting Tues as day 0). I got 2 days and since then I have been rushing around sorting food for everyone, trying to keep house going, etc. To be fair to DH he did offer to help but I wanted to keep him away from DD. He will probably test negative before me as he has had ample chance to just do nothing :-(.

Was it just a dry coughing fit?

mrsfeatherbottom · 28/06/2022 10:02

@maeveiscurious - do you mind me asking you what risks from the treatment? Like, side effects? I need to decide today.

I tested positive last night. First time having covid.

Started feeling a bit dizzy and tired yesterday with a mild sore throat. Last night I started aching all over and was up in the night with bad tummy ache and feeling sick. Feel so tired but can't sleep. Just trying to rest but my brain feels busy.

AnotherPoster · 28/06/2022 10:41

Dh tested positive yesterday but has been feeling ill for about 4 days. I started feeling ill yesterday but tested negative - perhaps too soon to test? Anyway, I just feel ache and tired, very slight dry cough. Dh, on the other hand, is dreadful: very sore throat, constant phlegmy cough, unable to eat or drink, severe shakes yesterday. I am worried at his inability to drink. Should I be?

Chevyimpala67 · 28/06/2022 11:05

Day 8 for me (I think)
Still testing strong positive :(
Perhaps not surprising as I've been really quite ill.
I'm not going to test again, it'll be 10 days on Thursday so I'll go out then.
Ds1 tested negative 2 days in a row and
Dh tested negative today so he'll be back at work on Thursday.
I still feel a bit rubbish. But nowhere near as bad as I was... This time last week I was in a&e!

Chevyimpala67 · 28/06/2022 11:11

For those new to the thread who wonder about their symptoms;
My symptoms (in order) were:
Cough
High temp
Tachycardia
High bp
Awful sore throat
kidney and lower back pain
Sores on roof of mouth
Headache
Ear ache (both ears)
Nausea
Period gone awol
Slight change in taste - can't seem to tolerate salty things?
I'm on day 8 and now only have the cough and nausea.

If he can't drink or swallow hos own saliva you need to get medical advice x

I'm sorry for him, the sore yhroatcwas the worst I've ever had and I totally lost my voice too!

I'm day 6.

All 5 of us are fully vaccinated and tested positive 1 by one last week. DS2 also had covid in September last year. None of us got it then.

The older 2 DC are testing negative now and DS1 is almost 100% better. DD is still coughing and has sinus trouble but is better. She is on a trial to see if she has asthma. Dh is clinically vulnerable and has a pulse oximeter supplied after he tested positive but he is getting better each day.

DS2is worse than he was in September with it but is better.

I'm the worst affected out of us all. I am never ill. I have not had even a sniffle in 5 years, I had pneumonia nearly 8 years ago an I can honestly say I have never felt so ill as i have these last 6 days. I've just been prescribed antibiotics as I'm to far along for antivirals.

Symptoms

Temperature
Cough
Blocked sinuses
Sore throat
Headache
Aches all over
Swollen painful joints
Horrendous night sweats
Earache
Vomiting
Upset stomach
Loss of taste and smell
Exhaustion
No appetite

@Chevyimpala67 thanks. Honestly can't believe how rough I am. Dread to think how ill I would be without the vaccines.

Yes I would be concerned if symptoms mean it Is difficult to swallow -
i would ring GP or 111

beenrumbled · 28/06/2022 12:24

@AnotherPoster yes I'd call 111 and ask for advice.

I went back to the office this morning and am glad I did. Today is day 10 for me. I still feel wiped out but it was such a boost to see work friends and have a change of scene.

@Chevyimpala67 I'm really sorry to see how badly you've suffered.

BruceAndNosh · 28/06/2022 13:25

Negative test today.

Still remnants of snot and grot but I find the humidity of morning shower really helps loosen and shift the gunk. I'm normally very quick in the shower but I'm just standing there for a few minutes to really let the moisture into my airways.
I've also been going for a decent walk every day to get some steady deep breathing going

essvyy · 28/06/2022 13:58

Just wondered if anyone else experienced this. Tested positive last Monday, started to feel a lot more normal on Sunday (still with some congestion symptoms). Went back to WFH yesterday but in the evening I felt wiped out and I've felt drained today and gotten worse throughout the day. I'm now feeling just awful, so tired achy and generally bad. I thought I was over the worst of it so it has me a bit worried just how rubbish I feel.
