Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

A quick poll of people I know who have had it are saying between 9-12 days before negative LFT’s

Chevyimpala67 · 26/06/2022 18:46

Ds1 is 11 days from first symptoms and tested negative today but may have tested negative earlier had he done it...

He is making plans with friends for later this week so he's obviously feeling better

Chevyimpala67 · 26/06/2022 18:51

It's interesting...I'd say this infection has been pretty systemic for me.
It's affected my heart, kidneys, periods, gastric issues, headaches, ears, throat, lungs.
I sense its going to take me a long time to get over

picklemewalnuts · 26/06/2022 18:59

I do think it's easy to notice things that you'd shrug off if you didn't have Covid, though.

I'm speaking for myself, obviously. I'm itchy, dry, sore eyes, head in a bucket feeling, sore throat, cough, hot tight feeling, blah blah blah...

Don't you think you can talk yourself into feeling awful, and notice symptoms that if you were well or diagnosed with a different virus, wouldn't even register?

Not in my case, no.
HR of 160 at rest, high BP...not normal for me (or anyone)
Just had another awful coughing fit...they seem to hit at this time of day for some reason.
I'm utterly fed up.

Chevyimpala67 · 26/06/2022 19:06

I have read about covid causing period issues too.

elephantmarchingin · 26/06/2022 19:49

@picklemewalnuts I agree I think - for DH especially there are things that normally I would've told him to get on with it type thing e.g a mild headache and mild cough but because we know it's covid we've been much more careful

I'm feeling so much better today, thank god. Tested negative 2 days in a row, so today I walked the dog, meal planned, went shopping and prepped meals for the week. Pretty proud of myself!

Consider myself v lucky to only have symptoms for a week.

picklemewalnuts · 26/06/2022 20:14

Yes, that heart rate was pretty spectacular!

I'm a bit wary of persuading myself I'm more ill than I am!

historyofthefuture · 26/06/2022 20:21

Day 8 (?): first time outside since it started; went for what was meant to be a short walk then turned into a really long one across town. Was worried it would be too much but I think keeping up a steady pace and not raising my heart rate was the trick; really hoping that this is a turning point. Brain is still quite fuzzy but the rest of me is getting there.

Fab on getting a walk !!
ive just had a walk - around 4km and so pleased I managed it !! Couldn’t walk anywhere yesterday

elephantmarchingin · 27/06/2022 06:27

Guess whose lost her sense of taste!!!!! Blooming hell

LondonWolf · 27/06/2022 07:32

Tested positive last night 😞. First time having it so really thought we'd managed to escape it.

Dreadful Headache.
Feeling nauseous - toast helps though
Blocked up nose, lots of sneezing yesterday but not so much today.
Can't sleep - although completely exhausted. This is the worst symptom tbh.
Chest a bit tight.

picklemewalnuts · 27/06/2022 09:04

Heading out for a walk shortly. Bit worried. I normally stride out at speed. This will be more like a potter.

Haphazardhacker · 27/06/2022 09:11

Anyone else got what look like ulcers on tonsils?

Ginqueen1 · 27/06/2022 09:36

I tested positive on Friday the 17th and never felt so bad. I have pains everywhere, headaches, fevers, chills, no sense of smell or taste, feel nauseous the whole time, feel exhausted but cannot sleep, my period is over a week late and a racing heartbeat and palpitations. I really thought i would be feeling better by now but there is no sign of improvement. I’m expected to work today but cannot focus at all and the burning pain in my eyes is not helping. Praying I feel better tomorrow

Kaftankween · 27/06/2022 11:24

I tested positive last Friday although thought I had bad hay fever for a few days so I was probably positive from at least Wednesday. I had two days of feeling terrible (Thurs Fri).

Today I’m testing negative. Feel fine s as part from a slightly tight chest (I’m an asthma sufferer).

Oh goodness you can’t be expected to work like that !

i’m day 8 and still off sick feeling lousy

picklemewalnuts · 27/06/2022 12:12

I guess this is day 8 and I thought I was feeling better. It's only if I do nothing though. I've just walked the dog for the first time, and tried to work, and now I have a cracking headache.

lightisnotwhite · 27/06/2022 12:22

Tested positive Thursday, really not well Friday and Saturday and feeling better today. However head is still fuzzy . I’ve been for a walk thinking it would help but it hasn’t.
I’m going to rest tomorrow and go back to work Weds. I don’t think I need a negative LFT either.

Haphazardhacker · 27/06/2022 14:28

The pain is unspeakable at times.

pinklavenders · 27/06/2022 15:19

Wow many of you are really suffering!

I tested positive (for the first time ever!) yesterday after feeling a slight sore throat since Saturday. I was a little tired yesterday afternoon but am (thankfully) pretty much back to normal today. Triple vaccinated. I hope this was it...

Hope everyone else recovers quickly!

mrsfeatherbottom · 27/06/2022 18:48

I still feel awful on day 5. Am eligible for treatment so have to call the hospital tomorrow if I feel I need it and can go up on Wednesday to get a drip. Apparently I can't get the tablets because of other medication I'm on so I think it would be antibodies, as opposed to antivirals.
