Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

I'm so lucky, I'm able to pretty much do nothing all day. And I am. DH has been cooking and walking the dog.

I'm planning on carrying on doing nothing until I absolutely have to, or I'm totally better.

DS1 has now fallen. DH will probably join him later, though he's escaped so far.

Soak in warm bath with water up over your throat - that is my method when experiencing extremely sore throat

Well I tried to report it but it only offered me today or yesterday as the date of the test. So I gave up.

I have also given up on Snowflake Mountain which is utter tosh but am enjoying Hacks on Prime. Nice short episodes too.

Now day 7 and its a little early in the day but both me and DH have both said we feel like something has shifted today. Can't put a finger on what, but just don't feel as rubbish as we have. I got up and automatically got a bowl of cereal with my cup of tea, and I've barely eaten all week so I'm hopeful.

So tested positive yesterday but had symptoms on Wednesday afternoon.

This morning woken up again with a sore throat (very sore!) o2 levels are good and no temp. I feel like I could have gone into work if I had too and just dosed up with paracetamol.

Am I likely to go downhill from now, is this just the calm before the storm?

I had hip / lower back pain. It was joints rather than being slipped disk or anything. Could be covid or could just be my sleeping fitfully.

I'm finding my wedge thigh pillow really helps with the hip pain
The lower back/kidney pain I had has gone.

Is anyone else still testing positive on day 6? I’m starting to feel a bit better but still have a very strong positive line.

We've stopped testing.

Until we have somewhere we have to be, we're staying home. When it's time to emerge we'll test again! Otherwise that's loads of unnecessary plastic tests just for the pleasure of watching the line fade!

Sunday = prior to work and school

Anyone else really dizzy?? I’m day 7/8 here and I’m worried about these waves of dizziness/nausea! Hope it settles. Wonder if it’s the new variant.

Is anyone getting random kidney pain?

I tested positive on Monday and symptoms came on pretty fast from Monday afternoon onwards. I feel like I've spent the last 3.5 days in a haze, mostly in bed with ocassional shuffling around my house at great effort. Woke up today feeling so much better though (I hope it lasts) and was able to do chores and walk around like a normal person! Feels amazing! Cannot shake the sore throat though, without painkillers I still feel like I'm swallowing glass. Also still got a strong positice line today on the test.

I’m a teacher so have to have 2 negatives before going back to school.

Thanks for the recommendations - I've actually been sprung from isolation, so I am puttering about the house now (still wearing a mask when other people are around). Still have a bit of dizziness from time to time.... Trying to eat really healthily and rest...

Triple jabbed and have avoided it so far despite DH and DS testing positive at Xmas.

Day 1 - Weds - sore back, bit of a drippy nose. Went outdoor swimming - felt a bit cold afterwards.

Day 2 - Thur - Snotty nose - bit hot/cold - just thought I had a chill from swimming the day before.

Day 3 - Fri - took a test prior to setting off for big family event and guess what positive. Now have a very snotty nose and coughing quite a lot. Rest of family negative.

Gutted. Tried to register positive test on Govt website but it keeps crashing - I wonder if they have taken it down to stop reporting. Downloaded the Zoe app instead.

Hope it continues as just this heavy cold for me! Hope everyone else starts to feel better soon.

I had the feintist of lines yesterday (day 10).

However, I don't think it's over. Tiredness is still off the scale, and still loads of phlegm.

Symptoms since Tuesday and tested positive today. Not feeling too bad. Horrible sore throat on Tuesday and Wednesday and fatigue Wednesday night/Thursday. Feeling a lot better today. Slight cough and slight fatigue remaining. Feels less severe than Delta which I had in January 2021 pre vaccines.

The sore throat is now horrendous, got white spots on them and every swallow is eye watering. Anyone got any tips to help please.

Sounds like tonsillitis. If you phone the Dr they should be able to prescribe antibiotics over the phone they have with me in the past when I've had it
