Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Day 5 since my positive test. I still feel rubbish, spaced out, dizzy and weak. Blocked nose, cracking headache, upset stomach. It feels like it's never going to end. I'm massively fed up now and just want to feel normal

Day 12 - still got a fain positive. Finding everything an effort. Going up stairs is tiring. Walking from room to room for more than 10 minutes is tiring. I walked briskly to get binoculars earlier and had a lightheaded moment.
Beyond that I don't feel ill - just totally sapped.

Day 4, first time for me. Anyone else having lower back/kidney pain?

parrotonmyshoulder · 15/03/2022 10:48

Day 9 still positive. I’m almost better, although very tired after small amounts of effort. Am going to try an online meeting this pm.
Any exertion (ie loading the washing machine, nothing actually strenuous) leads to a headache and need to lie down!
PP - yes I had lower back pain around days 4-7. Didn’t know if it was due to spending so long in bed!
Tea still tastes of nothing. Coffee is okay though.

Ledkr · 15/03/2022 10:51

I had back pain too and weeing a lot which made me wonder about my kidneys.
I'm still so tired as well plus headache and feeling sick a lot of the time especially in the mornings.

I have had yes
BigButtons · 15/03/2022 11:07

Anyone else finding that they can’t feel their limbs properly?
The closest description I can think of is when you have pins and needles and have limited sensation. My whole body tingles and I can’t feel it properly so moving is very difficult.

AuntieMarys · 15/03/2022 11:17

I've ordered PCRS. Very worrying all these negative LFTS but positive PCRs.

ancientgran · 15/03/2022 11:17

I'm day 16, I've just been to the supermarket. DH doing the driving but he is disabled and can't do the actual shopping. I was only doing top up, milk, bread, butter and I'm now lying on the sofa exhausted. I can't imagine getting back to normal life but I'm sure I will. The exhaustion is just so overwhelming.

ancientgran · 15/03/2022 11:19
@ancientgran. I had a burst blood vessel from coughing so much once, I’d be surprised if I didn’t get one soon, the amount of coughing I’m still doing, day 5 for me.
I started off with half of one eye bloodshot, then the whole eye went, it just looks like my pupil is sitting in a puddle of blood. Then the other eye started.

I did have a chest infection once where I coughed so much I broke a rib and I'm hoping that doesn't happen as it was very very painful.

Good luck, hope you are feeling better soon.

lemonnandliime · 15/03/2022 11:20

Day 3 for me

Constant entire body aching
Headache that doesn't go away with painkillers
No appetite
Sweating buckets but shivering
Exhausted from doing nothing

I've never had a viral illness before where it goes on day after day I usually have one bad day then it calms down

lemonnandliime · 15/03/2022 11:20

Oh and a nasty cough

lemonnandliime · 15/03/2022 11:24

@AuntieMarys

Can I ask a question? I have had 4 days of negative LFTs. I have a mild cold, sinuses hurt. No temperature, cough. I feel fine in myself. No aches, pains, did 5 mile walk yesterday and eating everything in sight. I've been reading up about getting a PCR but it says if you have cough/ temp/ no sense of smell/ taste. I have none of those. So do I assume I just have a cold?
You wouldn't be doing anything wrong to assume it's a cold and carry on as normal.

But if you do want/need to find out, you could say you do have the main symptoms and get a test. I had those symptoms at the very beginning before the full blown covid symptoms started.

CookPassBabtridge · 15/03/2022 11:24

I've managed to avoid it until now, symptoms started on Sunday.
I've had/have:
Sore throat
Painful cough (but not dry, I always bring stuff up!)
Stiff neck
Aching body
Sense of smell gone
Fever chills and hot flushes constant for two days
Headaches
I woke up last night and couldn't breathe 😢

I feel horrific and it's shocked me. I'm youngish, healthy, had all 3 jabs and this is meant to be the mild variant. Don't want to preach to the unvaccinated but it's scared me how this could have been if I hadn't been jabbed.

Vintagevixen · 15/03/2022 11:30

Day 5 here and TBH it feels mostly like a normal cold apart from the odd splitting headache (responding well to Paracetamol) and some initial kidney/back pain and frequent seeing on day 1. Scratchy throat, bit of a cough but had worse in the past and snotty nose.

I actually feel ok - maybe because I'm not at work (nurse) which exhausts me so much that any tiredness from Covid seems mild in comparison!! Getting a lot of rest, not getting up early for shifts and plowing through my Netflix list is actually making me feel relatively chipper.

DD has the cough/snotty nose but testing negative until today with a faint positive, but TBH she feels ok too.

Vintagevixen · 15/03/2022 11:30

*peeing not seeing!

PurpleOranges · 15/03/2022 11:38

Day three for me. Yesterday I couldn't stop shivering but that seems to have stopped now. Today I have back pain in the kidney area and overwhelming fatigue.

Saucery · 15/03/2022 11:47

All I can compare it with is the flu I had at Uni where I was taken to hospital in an ambulance because I couldn’t breathe properly or swallow. Keep telling myself it isn’t that bad, but it ain’t no ‘mild cold’! And that this on top of 2 vaccs and a booster must surely be boosting my immunity for at least the next few months.

Flowers for everyone on here.

Verity226 · 15/03/2022 12:10

How old is everybody? If you don't mind answering ofc.

I'm 28. Slightly overweight but not by much. Smoker. Triple vaccinated.

I feel incredibly naive thinking I'd get off lightly a second time around. I had it during the first wave and that was a cake walk compared to this.

I’m 50. Walk a lot, but no other exercise regime.
I was offered a drugs trial yesterday, molnupiravir on the back of reporting my Positive result, because of my age. When I looked at reported side effects, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain……nah, no thank you! I think my immune system is doing pretty well alongside the vaccs and apart from the dizziness I don’t have any of those side effects. Reluctant to add them!

DeadButDelicious · 15/03/2022 12:24

Not entirely sure what day I'm on, 5 or so with mild symptoms (stuffed up nose and a very slight cough, not persistent at all and no temperature) which have almost entirely disappeared. Very faint positive yesterday, even fainter today.

I'm 39 (a month off 40 as it goes), very overweight, triple vaccinated. I only found out I had it as I had to go to A&E for kidney stones at the weekend. Not sure where I've picked it up from to be honest, I've not done anything out of the ordinary and everyone else in the house is negative. It's literally just me, sat here under house arrest feeling absolutely fine. I know I sound flippant, I'm really not meaning to be. I am aware I've got off 'light' with all my risk factors.

Bloody hell they could count me out for that one too. I already have those symptoms in abundance from the virus itself.
bozzabollix · 15/03/2022 12:34

Day 7, feeling a bit better. Feel like I’ve been through a bit of a storm and now it’s all quiet. Still feeling weak, bunged up, tired and a bit spaced out. Throat is a lot better thankfully.

I was told this was going to be a mere cold. No it bloody well isn’t.

AuntieMarys · 15/03/2022 12:34

Yes have ordered one. Currently decorating!

Vintagevixen · 15/03/2022 12:39

I'm 51, double vaccinated but didn't bother with a booster, slightly overweight but no other major health issues and walk a lot so relatively fit.

Had a pneumonia about 4 years ago that was honestly so much worse than this (probably also caught from work!)

Fingers crossed!
