Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Glad to hear some people are feeling improvements.
I think the ‘test negative after 5 days’ has lulled us (collectively) into a false sense of the mildness of this variant. Realistically, the majority are going to start to feel better at 10 days and beyond.

I feel averagely shit rather than massively shit this morning (day 10) so that’s good Grin
Not fit for work by any means. I don’t know if I need to speak to a GP for a fit note or if a continuation of Covid into its potential 14 days is different for recording purposes. So I’ll have to contact the office later and see if they know. Reluctant to take a GP’s time up if I don’t have to.
In January, when they were expecting a huge wave, self-certification was extended for the whole month, but that’s ended.

TypicaIMe · 21/03/2022 06:38

Day 9. Migraine, sinus pain, snot for days, cough, temperature on and off, insomnia, spaced out, wobbly legs, thick Sharpie line positive.

I am so sick of this now!

BigButtons · 21/03/2022 06:58

@Saucery I can technically go back to work on weds. I am having kittens about it though. I work in a school and it’s full on all the time.
I have seen so many staff members come back after covid only to have to go straight back home again for another week.
Before I got covid I had been signed off for a week due to stress ( mother’s cancer). I was only back 3 days- with symptoms and feeling shite- before I tested positive the weekend before last.
Still we break up for Easter in 2 weeks so there is hope!

Neurodiversitydoctor · 21/03/2022 07:09

Day 7 here still testing positive, possibly a little less strong-pink rather than dark purple. Few symptoms , but much better than last week. Still isolating from my (negative) family.

Amyylou90 · 21/03/2022 07:19

Hi Everyone 👋
My Children tested positive for covid 8 days ago, My 2 Girls are now Negative, My 2 Boys Only Tested Positive on Saturday.

I have Been Having faint Positive Tests since Wednesday so today is Day 6. Im so confused because this mornings test is now a really clear, bold positive Hmm Does this mean im gonna be more poorly?! Ive not done too bad as of yet, Tickly cough, headaches and runny nose. Im fully vaccinated ( Not sure if that's good or bad) xx

Chocolatetrifle · 21/03/2022 07:28

Good morning, day 6 for mefsont positive, feeling a bit stronger but I find it comes and goes. DH is on day 3 and dS1 who is 4 is on day 7 and still positive. dS2 who is 2 has just tested positive this morning after being off his food and more clingy yesterday and coughing.

Agree that the thought of a negative result at day 5 gave me false hope.

Hope everyone is ok.

inappropriateraspberry · 21/03/2022 07:33

I'm going to annoy everyone now! Another negative test today in day 6, so I'm all clear! Still a bit of a headache and not quite the energy of normal, but feeling a lot brighter. DS is negative, was probably good that he wasn't at preschool last week as they are all getting it. And my daughter is finally back to school after 2 weeks!

Lulu1919 · 21/03/2022 08:15

I tested positive late Saturday night - had felt tired during the day but no other symptoms..woke up about midnight and felt very hot and shivery so thought I'd check...big bold positive line !!
Feel like shit ...
Headache shaky ears ringing can't seem to read or watch tv ..
Emailed work..school...a couple other staff have gone down over weekend and a few kids in my year group ...
Staying in the spare bedroom away from husband ..no children at home

TravellingSpoon · 21/03/2022 08:22

I tested positive yesterday before going to work, both my DC's have tested positive this morning.

We have 5 cases at work now, and have been declared an outbreak and ordered to close to new admissions.

MrsAmber · 21/03/2022 08:44

Anyone else got red cheeks?

MrsAmber · 21/03/2022 08:46

I had a real rubbish night, teeth chattering, achy and feeling like shit, then these red cheeks appeared.

Going to have a couple of paracetamol and a shower and hoping that helps.

ancientgran · 21/03/2022 08:48

Day 22, my eyes hurt, my cough is worse again and I'm so tired. Walked upstairs to put some washing away yesterday, the bed looked so tempting so I lay down and woke up 3 hrs later. Still felt tired.

SkyeT · 21/03/2022 08:50

Day 16 for me and I finally feel like I'm a bit better. I didn't realise how much of a fog I'd been in the past two weeks until I woke this morning and it was only slightly there.

Saucery · 21/03/2022 08:54

@MrsAmber

Anyone else got red cheeks?
I did from day 3 - 6, with odd flashes of it afterwards. Crimson, they were!
BigButtons · 21/03/2022 09:11

Day 19.
I went shopping and now feel utterly wretched.
My chest hurts, coughing loads. Nose running. My kidneys are also complaining-probably dehydrated from the endless mucus production .
My bowels are also playing up.
I managed to eat a bit of dinner last night, actually felt hungry. Bowels not happy with the food though.
Day 10 test positive is a barely perceptible line- almost just a shadow. So tomorrow should be clear.

Jules912 · 21/03/2022 09:17

Day 9 today and starting to feel better, still needed a sit down after putting the washing on but only dizzy if I get up too fast. Think the positive line seemed slightly fainter too, not that it makes any difference at this point.

SpaceyCake · 21/03/2022 09:31

I think I'm on day 5 and I feel ok. I was actually feeling myself again yesterday but a little tired and snotty. I'm pleased because the fatigue from days 2 and 3 was rubbish and I couldn't do much. I was hoping for a faint line today but it was a proper purple block this morning. Confused

DH has been in bed for a week. He doesn't have many symptoms but does have a headache and crazy fatigue. Hoping he'll be better soon because I fancy a grown up chat. Grin

MrsAmber · 21/03/2022 09:55

@Saucery same here, I look like I’ve been a serious drinker judging by my cheeks.

MrsAmber · 21/03/2022 09:57

Anyone else been asked to be part of a clinical trial?

Had a message from my GP stating if you’re feeling unwell you may be eligible to be part of a trial.

Tbh though the thought of going anywhere right now isn’t going to happen, feel lousy.

TypicaIMe · 21/03/2022 09:57

If you want to know why I'm so fed up, here's my lft from day one (left) and my lft from this morning (right). Today is day 9.

I'm beginning to feel as if this is neverending! Is anyone else still so positive, and feeling so lousy, this far along?

Is anybody else currently positive?
BigButtons · 21/03/2022 10:17

@TypicaIMe that’s pants. You poor thing. Mine is very light but I feel shocking- worse than I did a few days ago. Have had to take pain killers for the first time in days.
I know what you mean though. When will it ever go away.
However, you are near day 10 and tests will become irrelevant. Some people test positive a long time after they are no longer infected .
You might just be one of those. Xx

clouds56 · 21/03/2022 10:19

Me and my 11 month old have tested positive today. Typical because it's my last week of maternity and she was suppose to be having her settling in sessions at nursery this week. Feeling absolutely terrible. My symptoms started on Saturday so I guess this is day 3 for me.

Peanut87 · 21/03/2022 10:43

First time having Covid and I feel absolutely awful, symptoms started on Friday and I tested positive on Saturday, my whole body is achy, my eyes hurt, hot and cold through the night and struggling to sleep, couching a little now and feeling breathless, I sound like I’m full of a cold and have the worst headaches I’ve ever had and all of this while EBF a 4 week old baby Sad
I just want to feel better and go for walks in this lovely weather with my newborn baby.

fortyfourfeasts · 21/03/2022 10:56

@Saucery I'd speak to your GP. Mine was fab, really understanding and adamant that I rest and recover. She has signed me off for 2 weeks.
Also still testing positive. The line is fainter though - just feeling so lethargic still. Driving me nuts. And the snot, urgh.

Blossomandbee · 21/03/2022 11:05

I'm on day 8. Still testing positive, line has gone from blazing dark positive to just normal but definitely not faint.
I'm not sleeping well which isn't helping but I feel really drained and tired. Taste and smell is returning but I still feel like I've got a head cold.
