Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

NEWSFLASH!

I'm actually quite fancying a glass of wine this evening.

Given I've had no enthusiasm for anything for over a week this is a definite step forward Grin

Of course the nature of this fucking illness is such that in five minutes the idea of wine may make me want to vom, but for now, I'm taking this as a little win. And putting some wine in the fridge, just in case.

Jules912 · 19/03/2022 14:06

I thought I was feeling a little better today but the dizziness has returned. Forgetting to have lunch probably didn't help but I've now eaten and it hasn't gone away.

LiveLaughaandLovehun · 19/03/2022 14:28

Argh got a horrible case of the trots now! I think that could be a side effect of the anti viral drugs I was sent.

I can confirm that the trots is also part of covid, atleast it has been in our household Blush

I'm getting so tired of this. I feel a little bit better then completely relapse. I haven't even done anything today to exert myself, haven't left the house in about 9 bloody days. What the hell

I'm pretty sure you're fine to go out on day 10 despite positive result, the understanding being that your viral load is so low you're no longer infectious.

Some people test positive for months after covid

Day 15 for me. Feel so fed up with it all. Can't do anything, feel genuinely poorly and want to cry. Awful.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

I found this earlier. It says to be careful (masks etc) round vulnerable people, but that’s all.

God it's sunny as it's my birthday! Husband is still
Suffering classic bloke reaction 🤣

Verity226 · 19/03/2022 18:06

Apparently "middle covid" is a recognised thing now. I wonder how many of us would fall under that category?

My symptoms began almost 2 weeks ago and its starting to feel like it'll never end.

It just goes on, and on, and on...

Feel a slight bit better, then hours later crap again.

Yes, definitely agree, as soon as paracetamol wear off I feel awful again. I've just tested again day 4 being ever so slightly hopeful, but of course it's positive, not sure why I thought it would be negative!

Hope everyone feels better tomorrow, tomorrow is a new day etc. Can't wait for my two kids (2 and 4)to get to bed so I can close my eyes!

SpaceyCake · 19/03/2022 18:35

@20viona Happy birthday! Cake I'm glad you're not feeling too bad. I'm the same on day 3 - mostly feel like I have a cold but I'm definitely less energetic than usual. Poor DC is getting too much screen time again - although I've not heard any complaints yet! Grin

20viona · 19/03/2022 18:45

@SpaceyCake thanks! My toddler is also enjoying a fair bit of screen time she's learnt every game on CBeebies 🤣

JustDanceAddict · 19/03/2022 19:06

DS (17) has. Tested positive last Sat night.
Had really bad cold symptoms until about Weds - inc headache and dizziness.
Def not 100% yet - went for a walk today and said he was still dizzy. I think being at home is different from using energy to go out and about.
He’s been taking paracetamol or sinutab to feel better. Think he’s pretty fed up as this is the 2nd Sat night in a row he’s been ‘grounded’. He’s been online for lessons and has done some studying (a levels this year), although not sure how effective it’s been for him!!

100% fine to go out.
BigButtons · 19/03/2022 19:17

So. Can we go out on day 10 or day 11? Like is day 10 the last day of isolation?

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 19:20

@Verity226 thank you for your kind words earlier, it helps so much to have you all to talk to. I've pottered in the garden a bit today and that's given my low mood a bit of a lift, sunshine always helps.

BigButtons · 19/03/2022 19:26

I managed a 2 mile walk today. I couldn’t feel my legs very well at some points. It was like they didn’t belong to the rest of my body and I was walking all funny.
I’m glad I got out though. It helped to get a bit of an appetite back. I am shattered so will hopefully sleep better for having moved a bit.

BigButtons · 19/03/2022 19:28

I have liquid pouring out of my nose. Almost constantly. Sometimes I get great big bubbles of snot blow out quite unexpectedly- like bugglegum nose 🤢🤢

Sadandfedup2 · 19/03/2022 20:04

Hello all 👋. Day 3 here. Felt like I had a slight cold since Sunday, went for a PCR then, negative, but no positive until Wednesday, on lateral flow. So God knows when day 0 is, I've taken it as Wednesday. Have felt a range of symptoms, coming and going, cough, sore throat, weakness, tiredness, sinus pain, head cold, headaches. None have been horrific, but today has been the worst. Bad head cold symptoms, insomnia and tiredness. Two young children driving me up the walls, DH to share but he's got it too as have the kids. I've only left the house for 90 minutes this week and my mental health has taken a dive. Took a lateral flow today just to see if its fading and it couldn't have been any darker 😢

msc6199 · 19/03/2022 20:10

Positive here 👋🏻 For the first time all pandemic, so had done pretty well to avoid it for this long.

Woke up with a sore throat on Wednesday morning. LFT negative. Sore throat was even more sore by the evening. Did another LFT after dinner - positive! Booked a last minute PCR = came back positive 4am the following morning.

So today is day 4 for me and I still feel like a zombie. The headache and fatigued which kicked on on Thursday has been like nothing I've ever experienced. Zero appetite. Have a little bit more energy this evening (enough to have a shower etc) but that's about it.

Hope you all start to feel better soon xx

I think you are day 3 sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😑 Funnily enough my appetite has barely been affected, so trying to make everyone's meals and staying upright in the kitchen 😣
Neurodiversitydoctor · 19/03/2022 20:42

Day 5 today 1-3 definitely the worst now just tired, although cleaned 2 bathrooms today.
