Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

No sign of a negative test here either, I'm day 7 from the positive result.

The whole thing is really lingering, I can't fathom anybody getting this and recovering plus testing negative by day 5. It doesn't seem possible.

Except it is, isn't it?

We're just unlucky I guess Envy

I've got quite a lot of nausea with it today.

Me too. It comes in waves. Awful.

Day 5/6 since positive test here and TBH I'm feeling great - its just been like a cold for me and symptoms are abating. Think not having to go to work and having loads of rest is probably the reason why.

Hoping for a negative tomorrow, but work have told me I can go back from day 10 even if I get positives as long as my symptoms have gone - apparently testing is a bit invalid after that - too much Covid mRna still in your system and you test positive for up to 90 days anyways so will be heading back to the wards to work!

BigButtons · 18/03/2022 17:42

Day 7 here. Feeling much better. Went out for a walk. All good. I have got thick green mucus in my left sinus though, which hurts.
Did a test today and the line is the strongest it has ever been.
Can someone say if the the darkness of the line actually means anything at all?

EventuallyDelighted · 18/03/2022 17:44

I suspect sampling technique has something to do with it.

LairyMaclary · 18/03/2022 17:53

I tested positive on Tuesday. I’d had a runny nose and a sore throat beginning Sunday, but decided to do a test when the cough set in. Still mainly cold type symptom with rib pain, I expect from all the coughing. Feels a bit like I’m breathing in sand. I’m almost certain my 4 month old has it too, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to test him. He’s staying home with me anyway. Older daughter and husband are both testing negative, despite similar symptoms.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 18/03/2022 18:05

I can't see the point of testing til at least Monday, my positive was Weds. If I've still got the same symptoms I might not even test then!

Makes sense. My sample today was particularly gloopy🤢🤢

I'm day 6 and feeling really awful - just a constant high temperature for the last 48 hours. Was hoping to find stories of the temp suddenly disappearing!

I'm very lethargic too .

20viona · 18/03/2022 18:59

Iv been fine all day and now have a crushing burning chest. Just ordered a nandos but doubt that will help !

BigButtons · 18/03/2022 19:28

Hmm- I have started getting a burning chest too🧐

TypicaIMe · 18/03/2022 19:29

Perfectly fine and now negative DH is sitting next to me enjoying a Friday night beer and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open for long enough to see if I'm due more Solpadeine Envy (definitely 100% unequivocally envy)

TypicaIMe · 18/03/2022 19:30

I've had the burning chest since day one. It comes and goes but it feels like I've been running. It was scary at first but now it's so familiar it'll be weird when it's gone (but brilliant).

Wingingit15 · 18/03/2022 19:36

Day 5 since positive here. Have the worst tension headache and achy eyes today🥺

Neurodiversitydoctor · 18/03/2022 19:41

Day 4/5 (symptoms started monday, tested positive tuesday) for me today. Feeling much better nearly ticked the "I feel normal" box on the Zoe App this am. Will test in the morning but not holding my breath.

Saucery · 19/03/2022 08:11

Day 9 and a real step backwards. Last 3 days test have been faint to nonexistent but now a thick line again. Upset stomach, nausea, head pressure, hot flushes. Fucking horrible Sad

TypicaIMe · 19/03/2022 08:31

It's my one week positive anniversary today and I'm still feeling like a massive pile of shite.

What's annoying is, when I woke up this morning I thought I felt a bit better. Maybe I did, even briefly, and it's a good sign?

BigButtons · 19/03/2022 08:53

A week positive for me today. I have decided to not focus on how tired or crappy I feel. It doesn’t help me.
I intend to go out for another walk today- maybe try a longer one( not actually long really). It did me the world of good to get out.
I am dreading doing another test since yesterday’s line was the darkest it has ever been and came up way before the control line☹️🧐

BigButtons · 19/03/2022 08:56

I just feel so lonely and isolated.
My mother is dying of terminal cancer. She lives close by but I cannot go and comfort her. She is suffering so much and I have not been able to see her for 9 days now- I was feeling unwell before my positive so stated away just in case.
She is confused and won’t have any visitors in the house because I have covid in my house. I ask her why and she says ‘because you were here last week and you have covid’. I try and explain that her house is clear of covid but she is scared.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 19/03/2022 08:59

Still positive today, not surprising as not quite symptom free. But a bit depressing to be stuck in one room at the weekend.

It’s very depressing. Can you get outside in an isolated kind of way atall?
BigButtons · 19/03/2022 09:02

I made myself eat some toast- it was horrible. I wasn’t even hungry.

Chocolatetrifle · 19/03/2022 09:03

@BigButtons oh that is really hard. Hope you are ok, sending you Flowers.

How many days into being positive are you? Hopefully you will be able to see her soon.

Day 4 for me, lethargic when paracetamol wear off still. I have the cough. Hopefully the aches and pains are on there way out, will see.

Hope everyone starts to feel a bit better soon.

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 09:04

Day 7 and I feel so deeply depressed I can't stop crying. It's the lack of human contact I think, at least my dog can be in the same room as me. I've always been prone to depression, been on ADs for years, hopefully it'll lift when I'm covid free.

TypicaIMe · 19/03/2022 09:07

Oh @BigButtons I'm so sorry Flowers
