Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Day 4 here, 5 since symptoms. Feel utterly dreadful. I can't say the blocked nose or cough is troubling me much it's the ache, headaches and it's like I have an aura around me as I feel heavy, tired and light headed when moving about. I think hit by a bus is the term.

My 6 year old is now day 6, 7 since symptoms and he's still a positive as well so no school yet but he's back to normal and is running around causing havoc whilst I just die in the corner.

What annoys me the most, irrationality I admit but everyone I speak to says rest. How on earth can I rest if I have a feral child and a currently negative hubby hiding as he's far too busy'working' I'm fed up and just want to crawl somewhere and hide. But no I'm doing primary maths and grammar lessons FFS. I'm so foggy I had to Google what a noun was 🤣

I had hoped child can go to school but alas he has a faint line still so he's here to stay. His day 10 is Monday so he'll be shipped off then.

Lovely sun here so I'm going to sit in the garden for a bit later to get some vit D 😁

Sending virtual hugs to all those who feel 💩.

Hello everyone, just found this thread!

I'm on Day 6. It's so reassuring reading about everyone's symptoms. I started with a temp and sore throat. Then headaches, mouth ulcers and utterly exhausted. Been coughing and sneezing loads too. And the bad dreams too!!

Still strongly positive on the LFT

I'm a primary school teacher and thought I'd been lucky to dodge this bloody virus. I am now in a quandary about going back to work. I only seem to get better a tiny bit each day, and although I wake up feeling ok, by mid morning I'm ready for bed again!

Day 10 is Monday. Tue and Wed at school are very full on days (special events) and it's tiring and stressful at the best of times. I will feel incredibly guilty about not going back because of the pressure it's put on my team not being there. But I do not want to prolong this illness, or end up off sick again.

Is anyone out the other side of the 10 days but still not well enough to work?

Stormchaser1502 · 17/03/2022 09:19

When will this brain fog and utter mind numbing body fatigue going to end……

BigButtons · 17/03/2022 09:33

I have had my 2 hours of being up and feeling reasonably ok- now I can feel the fatigue returning. Go away covid.

Jules912 · 17/03/2022 09:41

I'm on day 4, 5 since symptoms. Woke up aching all over at 3am and so dizzy I nearly fell down the stairs when I went looking for painkillers. Feel a bit better now they've kicked in but only not in bed because DS ( who is now much better) needs someone to keep an eye on him.

ShowMeYourMethod · 17/03/2022 09:58

Hello fellow covidites!

Can I join you please? Day 3 for me and after a couple of days feeling like I just had a bad cold and fatigue I feel really rough today.

Headache as if someone has my head in a vice and generally achey all over.
Am getting v cross at all the 'it's only mild' messaging coming out. I am grateful it is 'mild' in the sense that that I don't need hospital treatment but I can't work today as I feel really terrible.

I am a teacher and had been doing some online stuff the last two days but no chance today. Am in bed in pjs today!

Hope everyone else manages to get through it ok! It is strangely comforting to hear others' stories and it makes me feel a bit prepared for strange symptoms that may come my way.

BigButtons · 17/03/2022 10:13

I am back lying on the sofa feeling like I am about to pass out☹️

BigButtons · 17/03/2022 10:15

I can’t even be arsed to turn over the tv which for some reason is on QVC channel- that says a lot about my vegetative state.

Chocolatetrifle · 17/03/2022 10:36

Currently positive and my 4 year old is positive too. My 2 year old is negative as is husband. DH and dS2 on their way back from walk in Centre as dS2 jumped off couch and had to have an X -ray on his foot , nothing broken thank goodness but asked to rest, as if. I'm aching, had a sore throat and a cough, I have asthma so increasing my inhalers.

Send help!

bozzabollix · 17/03/2022 11:01

Day 9 today, testing negative but the cough has returned and feel lightheaded. My husband told me merrily yesterday that Covid is now the equivalent to a bad cold, I think I wore myself out bollocking him over that comment.

For those who have recently become positive and have a bad sore throat, I found Sudafed decongestant to unblock noses, Chloraseptic and anti inflammatories really helped, as did huge spoons of Manuka honey. It hurts to yawn now as I think my throat is literally scarred by this bastard illness, I’ve never had a sore throat like it (not since glandular fever). Even ice cream hurt it, and I can’t swallow certain food as it gets stuck as it’s swollen.

Bad cold my arse. When I’m well enough I’m kicking him for that one.

gogohm · 17/03/2022 11:02

Dp this morning, had a cold for 2 days tested negative Tuesday. Still not actually ill just a minor bug but he's at home. I'm at work with office door locked (own office and will come home at lunchtime and test)

gogohm · 17/03/2022 11:07

@Verity226

I'm spaced out most of the time, menopause, and have persistent cold aka allergic to dsd's cat her mum decided she didn't want any more. I have a cough from acid reflux (on meds) I won't ever notice I'm ill- plus I shrugged off covid back in March 2020 in hours (dp took 3 days)

ancientgran · 17/03/2022 11:27

Day 18 and for the first time I think I can say I'm on the mend. I just spent some money on line so I am showing some interest in things again. My cough is still bad but less frequent. I only had one bad coughing fit in the night so I managed 6 hrs sleep and getting some sleep is helping.

I'm living in hope that I'm on the home run.

I do think there must be a special place in hell for the people who cheerfully tell us "it is a mild cold" and if they truly think this is like a mild cold I dread to think how they feel with a bad cold.

I hope everyone of us is better soon.

Blizy · 17/03/2022 12:27

Day 3 for me, this headache is really something else! I have a runny/blocked nose sore throat, my knees are hurting and I'm just exhausted. Feel like I'm under water every movement is an effort.
Dh still testing negative So is at work.
I'm struggling at home with 7 yr old ds who has asd and 1 yr old dd. Ds is symptom free and dd has cold symptoms, obviously they are both full of beans.

BigButtons · 17/03/2022 12:42

Anyone else get some hunger pangs but when they eat anything they get stomach cramps?
I can only face crackers and the odd slice of bread. Hardly eaten since Saturday which will not be helping with the fatigue.

Nightowlpossibly · 17/03/2022 12:48

Age 56 triple jabbed asthma.
On day 4, headache, shivers, and body aches now subsided, but still sneezing, with runny nose, Sore throat, and ears feel blocked. Not had a temperature at all.

I have had a lot of abdominal pain, nausea and loss of appetite.
DH was opposite felt hungry all the time he had symptoms.

Verity226 · 17/03/2022 13:40

Day 6 from positive result, day 8ish from symptoms starting.

I finally feel like I'm starting to turn a corner, thank god.

I'm still congested, snotty and have a sore throat but it's the first day I've felt able to do much. I'm not going anywhere because I'm still showing a clear positive, but I'm confident that I'm coming out of the other side.

Day 4 for me after + LFT on Sunday. Have turned a corner. No more fever or muscle aches. Slight headache and cough still but otherwise feel much more myself. Also haven't needed a nap today. Can feel my sinuses starting to hurt a bit though 🙁

LFT last night was a fainter positive so hoping for early release either Saturday or Sunday. 🤞 Sunday is my 4yo's birthday party so am hopeful!!

cadburyegg · 17/03/2022 13:48

Oh forgot to say I still can't taste very much 😩

Saucery · 17/03/2022 14:07

Day 7 for me and LFTs getting much fainter. The taste/smell thing is weird. I wouldn’t say I had lost them, but sweet fruity things are…well, sweeter and fruitier! So I’m wondering if I’ve lost some ‘bottom notes’ to taste or something like that.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 17/03/2022 14:19

I'm day 6, just tested and still a strong positive 😭 currently have the headache from hell

Iamanunsafebuilding · 17/03/2022 14:23

Me and DH tested positive yesterday on our pre-flight tests, we were supposed to be on a flight to NY today 😭. We're both 'coldy' but nothing worse at the moment, we both slept really badly last night though which is weird. I really hope we don't get any worse and DD(19) doesn't get it. We were meant to be running NY Half on Sunday but I'm thankful we had insurance to cover the trip.

LaBelleEpoque · 17/03/2022 17:54

I'm on day 12 and STILL positive (admittedly getting fainter). Still off work - very tired and arms, legs and brain all made of jelly. Triple jabbed

BigButtons · 18/03/2022 08:24

I don’t dare test this morning. Couldn’t stand to see that line again. I only have three tests left. A pack has been ordered but won’t now come until next week.
I want to be able to go out. I am feeling very sorry for myself. Being alone with my own thoughts and no distraction is horrible.
