Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

Yea I got a negative this morn. Day 9

blinder · 21/03/2022 00:08

I’m coming up to three weeks post infection. Absolutely splitting headaches on and off since, but worse now than ever. Did anyone else have this?

wurlycurlywurly · 22/03/2022 11:23

It's been two weeks since my positive and I still have a low grade fever (37.9). Has anyone else had this? Frustrating as the advice is you can only attend certain places (eg hospital/nursery etc) if you don't have a temp. Been feeling okay other than tiredness and a bit shaky/weak.

Itsalongroad · 23/03/2022 18:14

Hi all - I’m new here but have always looked up the forum posts when in need of advice and support. So I’m really hoping you can reassure me. I tested positive for covid 5 weeks ago now (mid feb) and am still unwell sadly. Mainly light headedness/floaty head, a lingering cough and tiredness. My first two weeks weren’t too bad, a heavy cold but felt okay for the most part, it’s been this last three weeks where things are lingering with no real signs of shaking it and I’m now signed off work. Been to the GP twice and has bloods which are fine and just told to persist basically. I have good days and then a few horrible ones. Has anyone else experienced light headedness and if yes please tell me it goes away!

Thanks so much in advance and hope you all either feel better now or if not feel better very soon. Best wishes!

Thought I had managed to escape but covid finally got me this week!

Have had symptoms for 5 days with negative lft until last night when it was very positive.
Day 1 of symptoms, sore scratchy throat and headaches
Day 2 really bad sore throat, sinus pressure and snotty nose, temp overnight
Day 3 mild cough, no sore throat, snotty still
Day 4 mild cough and snotty and tired
Day 5/ day 0 of lft I actually felt better today and didn't cough a lot but by the evening my eyes were really sore, coughing and then pain between all my ribs overnight
Day 6 today / day 1 of lft - feel nauseous, watery eyes, jaw pain? Which is random, runny nose and very tired
Oh also been sneezing lots for a few days but not sure when that started!

How is everyone else feeling atm?

Alondra · 12/04/2022 09:28

Day 4 from positive test and day 3 since symtoms started. Only coughed the first day and head cold since. Last night I couldn't sleep, my sinus were blocked and I had to breathe thru the mouth making it very dry. I spent most of the night drinking water.

This morning I got a bowl of boiling water with a few drops of eucaliptus oil, put a towel over my head and breathed in for 5 minutes. It helped a lot, it's been heaps better since. Planning to do the same tonight.

Blueberrycreampie · 12/04/2022 10:03

Started feeling ill last Thursday and like most people with a sore throat, then bad cold like symptoms and no energy. Have an irritating cough and blocked nose. Wanted to stay in bed but coughing worse when lying down. Lft on Sunday and will do another in a couple of days. I did have lower back pain for a few days before but don't know if that's connected?

Blueberrycreampie · 12/04/2022 10:05

@Alondra. Thanks for the suggestion- I have some Eucalyptus Oil and will give that ago👍.

I’m glad to have found this thread.
I’m on day 5 since positive LFT. I’m double jabbed and 2 boosters due to health conditions treated with immunosuppressants. It’s the first time I’ve had it.
Day 1 I felt like my hayfever was ramping up, sore scratchy throat and dry cough. I work in healthcare so did an LFT expecting it to be negative but it was a faint positive.
I haven’t tested since now tests aren’t free I want to save the tests I have.
I think I’ve been very lucky with a mild dose, I’ve also been lucky enough to be treated with antivirals. Today I’m feeling very sick and I have a headache. I feel like there’s a lot of gunk in my throat and chest feels tight.
I’m struggling with the isolation, I have adhd the anxiety and depression that sometimes appear with that are present. It’s my 2 biggest triggers, being stuck indoors and being on my own. Im scared to test today, I don’t know anyone who’s had a negative day 5 test, I don’t want a positive.
Has anyone had a negative day 5 test?

PartyAtSueGrays · 12/04/2022 10:52

Had bad headaches on Thursday and Friday plus a few sneezes but put down to attending a close family funeral and all of the flowers in their house.
Saturday I just felt drained, again thought it was my body catching up but lft negative anyway.
Sunday I ached from head to toe, went back to bed mid afternoon and scratchy throat. Very positive lft in the evening.
Yesterday was awful, tired, every bone aches, no smell or taste, runny nose and hacking cough.
Today I feel slightly better but still a long way from well.

I'm triple vacced, worked for ambulance service throughout and this is the first time it's got any of close family. I'd say it's similar to the flu

MumbleCrumbs · 12/04/2022 13:34

It finally got me today. Although symptoms started yesterday. Feel so upset I tried so hard to avoid it and shielded for months and months only to get it anyway Sad. I'm so anxious but I do feel better than yesterday already, so hoping it's going to be mild. I'm more concerned about clotting as I have a disorder that makes it more likely. Debating whether to ask for a course of blood thinners from the GP or whether he'd think I'm being a bit mad.

Blueberrycreampie · 12/04/2022 13:44

You could always talk to your GP and be guided by them. I'm sure they won't think you're mad at all.Daffodil

I hate being stuck in too, I’m hoping I test negative by day 5. I’m on day 2/3 but only started testing positive today, symptoms started Sunday afternoon. Today I’m struggling with the headache, paracetamol doesn’t seem to be helping much and the cough is making my head hurt even more.
DeathMetalMum · 12/04/2022 19:07

Sore throat Thursday evening, worse Friday then Friday night I had fever/sweating most of the night. I've been v tired and waking through the night and I have terrible sinus pain. Sunday my nose was streaming constantly despite being really congested. Still have the sinus pain and my ears keep popping/ringing so much pressure!

First time here worked in a pharmacy all through lockdown and triple vaxxed. Though I had my booster end of September beginning of October can't quite remember, so I guess most protection has gone from that. Me and a colleague were the only two in the team not to have covid, they came down a few days before me last week.

SecondhandTable · 12/04/2022 20:56

I'm on day 4 of symptoms and feeling really poorly. Basically bed bound. Vomiting since day 2, only just started to be able to keep a few bits down today but the nausea is still horrendous so I don't really want to eat or drink anyway. Yesterday I vomited so much my throat started bleeding. Fever too, sore throat, cough and a bit snuffley. My 6 month old DSis also seeming very unwell with it, he's also day 4 of symptoms and struggling with cough, blocked nose and fever. He cried the whole day today which and slept loads, neither of which is like him at all. His night time sleep has been horrendous the last few nights though so he's been sleeping more in the day to make up for it a bit. My DH was basically completely recovered by day 5 but clearly that's not going to be the case for me or DS. 3 yr old DD just has cough and sore throat and is otherwise fine but finding me being so ill stressful so her behaviour has been terrible, so many meltdowns.

Ronnyhotdog · 12/04/2022 21:19

@DeathMetalMum
Are you my colleague? There was 2 of us in dispensary who were yet to get it, then I fell. 😃
It’s frustrating to have gone so long without getting it, I did have to isolate March-September at the start, then my husband left me, I insisted they let me back to work, otherwise I would have lost the plot. I have 2 doses of chemo every 6 months, so very weakened immune system. Lucky for me I’ve caught it just before my next treatment cycle so my immune system will have built up. I’m shocked I’ve dodged it for this long.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

MumbleCrumbs · 13/04/2022 08:35

Definitely feel something going on in my chest today and the anxiety it's causing me is only making it worse. Mercifully though my temperature is normal so I'm hoping this means I'm still OK. Honestly I don't know what's worse, having covid or being scared of it getting worse Sad.

Lovemusic33 · 13/04/2022 09:26

Day 3 or 4 here, thought it couldn’t get much worse, didn’t get hardly any sleep due to coughing. Went to bed at 9pm but was still coughing past midnight and awake by 6am. When I woke my whole body hurt, felt like I had been kicked in the kidneys and my ribs ache so much. Have now managed to get up, have a hot drink and had a shopping delivery (shouted at the delivery guy to stay back). Now led on the sofa coughing and sneezing.

I haven’t had a temperature at all either which I am thankful for.

Sending you a big covid hug, I know the feeling, I keep hoping it’s peaked and I will start feeling better but covid is the gift that keeps giving. Hopefully we will not feel better soon.

I don't know if it's the virus getting weaker or breathing the eucaliptus oil but it worked. Last night I was able to sleep and both nostrils are today clear. I can still feel a bit pressure at the back of my sinus but it's so so much better.

Mind you, this morning when put the towel over my head and got in the first breath of eucaliptus, I thought I was about to lose my lungs. I coughed like a banshee so much so I had to stop until I cleared some mocus, after that it was a breeze.

Really feels heaps better today. Hope you are feeling a bit better too.

worriedatthistime · 13/04/2022 10:55

@PartyAtSueGrays are you work making you count day 0 as test date or symptoms, as the app and the email i got seem to count day 0 as my test day rather than when my symptoms started

PartyAtSueGrays · 16/04/2022 08:07

I'm currently off work after an operation anyway. But they want 2 consecutive negative lfts before anyone can return to work.

SecondhandTable · 16/04/2022 19:41

I'm on day 8 and although getting better, still pretty poorly and nowhere near up to my normal daily life. Ongoing symptoms are: loud, chesty-sounding phlegmy cough that hurts my chest, mildly sore throat with still some impact on my voice (lost it completely earlier in the week), mild nausea, randomly feeling really weak and dizzy and needing to lay down, weight loss, change to my sense of taste so that with the nausea is meaning I'm not eating and drinking as much as I should be, intermittent low-grade fevers, exhaustion, really snotty/bunged up nose. Very strong positive on my test yesterday, no surprise. I'm in my 20s with no health conditions and I don't personally know anyone under 50 who has been anywhere near as ill as me, so it's taken me by surprise I must admit. 6mo DS is still snotty and bunged up, irritable, wanting to nap more than usual and also has a horrible cough that sounds like mine, poor thing.

gardenhelpneeded · 16/04/2022 20:09

Gosh I feel I’ve gotten off lightly. First infection day 5. No symptoms other than headache day before I tested positive and burning lungs and fatigue. I am breathless. Used my inhaler today which helped. Normally pretty fit in fact ran 8km day before I tested positive (I did feel slightly breathless during the run)

Everyone rise has come down with it too. All different symptoms. Husband head cold and cough, son nausea and sore throat.

We caught this in Italy so may be a different strain. Who knows.
Get well soon everyone!
