Anyone have covid right now?

Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

@Rainbowshit yeah the green phlegm
... aw poor you do you feel rough I bet (

So my two DCs both had positive lfts on Wednesday and Thursday.

I have cold symptoms including tickly cough and feel a bit grotty. Started symptoms on Wednesday and still testing negative. Even had a pcr on Thursday. Anyone had such a long lag? Beginning to think I have a coincidental cold.

Hope everyone else gets well soon.

Stokey · 06/03/2022 16:30

@InMySpareTime PCR is generally more sensitive than LFT and shows up first so I would isolate and keep doing LFTs.

I had a really thick line on LFT yesterday but the faintest line today (day 7) so hoping I'll be negative tomorrow.

Anyone have covid right now?
InMySpareTime · 06/03/2022 16:39

I'm assuming the PCR was correct but don't know when to assume I became ill.
LFD Test absolutely negative, even after an hour or so.
I'll do another tomorrow, and if that's negative too I'll go out again.
It's a decent excuse to get out of dinner with the PILs, so every cloud has a silver lining.

BIWI · 06/03/2022 16:44

There's no point leaving the test longer than the specified time @InMySpareTime.

If it's negative, it's negative!

However ...

... it's perfectly possible to get a false negative on a LFT, so I'd do another one tomorrow to be doubly sure.

InMySpareTime · 06/03/2022 16:56

I checked it after 20 minutes but didn't photograph it until after an hour.
I know false negatives are more common than false positives, and PCRs are more sensitive than LFTs, but with no symptoms I'm not going to get too stressed about being an accidental superspreader or anything, especially as I've still been wearing masks and keeping distance in indoors places anyway.
I'm mostly just baffled how I caught it, I don't really go out much and don't go near people. Glad I had no symptoms though.

BIWI · 06/03/2022 17:14

I've still been wearing masks and keeping distance in indoors places

But you've still been around other people, by the sounds of it!

Who knows where you get it from? Just glad that you haven't got any symptoms.

Notmenotme · 06/03/2022 17:51

I’ve had covid for a week and still testing positive. Feel like I’ll never test negative again!!!!

Also I have diarhea - quite badly - have had for two days now. Is this a symptom of covid or have I got something else????? I’ve been fine otherwise - I had a fevery day Sunday and Monday but then been fine other than the danger of farting!!!!!

I’m so sick of being stuck in!!!

awmum2b · 06/03/2022 19:10

Tested positive this morning after feeling rough yesterday afternoon, had tested negative yesterday morning as we’d gone to visit my parents for the day.

So far it feels like a bad cold with a migraine on top. Did have a dodgy tummy yesterday but that’s settled today n still have smell n taste.

Really worried as I’m a single parent to a 3 year old n really hoping I keep some energy so it’s not just sitting in front of the tv while I isolate. Thankfully she’s testing negative, but there’s no way I can isolate from her so who knows how long that will last. We’re in Scotland so still isolating, although apparently she can still go to nursery if negative (although couldn’t take her there so it’s a mute point presently)

My main feeling is guilt, my parents are due to go on holiday on Wednesday n I’ve now brought a lot of worry to their door, even though i followed the rules n tried to be careful. Really hoping they’ve swerved it, my DD has had 3 jags, DM has had 4.

Sunflowersinthewind · 06/03/2022 19:55

I'm testing positive now 3 days after DS. Body aches and eye and jaw pain is quite real, let me tell you. Of course I had to get it the same time as my period so double whammy of pain

Stomach issues are, I believe, another symptom.

Just look after yourself - make sure you're properly hydrated - and then keep testing.

blinder · 06/03/2022 22:19

I have stomach issues and also the eye-pain. Plus, my ears feel like I’ve been on a plane. If only!

confusedlots · 06/03/2022 22:42

Diarrhoea was my first symptom, along with extreme fatigue which ended up in me spending nearly 24 hours asleep. I didn't test positive for another 3 days though.

Littlemiss74 · 07/03/2022 05:23

I’m day 5 today - was starting to feel better until I got horrendous toothache! The tooth is so sensitive that I can’t chew on that side. Lying awake now hoping nurofen will do something. Can’t go to dentist yet as still showing positive. Might have to ask doctor something stronger to help with the pain. Really getting me down.
My sore sticky eyes seem to have returned aswell.

What’s everyone done about work - how long have people needed off? I can work from home and feel there is probably an expectation too but right now I’m not upto it.
Does anyone else feel like now they’ve scrapped the isolation rules people think you’ll automatically be well again in 5 days.. I’m sure thats what my work will be thinking

Sunflowersinthewind · 07/03/2022 07:06

Day 2 here. Everything hurts but paracetamol does take edge off. Had a night drenched in sweat but cold and little sleep

gettingalife · 07/03/2022 07:20

@Littlemiss74 with work I had to isolate Mon-Fri and tried to work from home. However, the symptoms developed by Tuesday afternoon and I haven't been able to. Did a bit yesterday to catch up but wasn't very productive. I've got to have 2 negative LFTs 24 hours apart before I go back (education) and tested positive Sat, Sun and today....

I feel really unwell though so couldn't have gone back today anyway. I'm going to do a bit of work this morning once the paracetamol and Ibuprofen kick in. Hope to be back Thursday (that'll be 10 days) but if I feel like I do now I won't be able to. Work's stacking up and I'm panicking....

boomshakalacka · 07/03/2022 07:59

I'm awaiting my two negatives as well. Haven't had one yet.

Littlemiss74 · 07/03/2022 08:15

Does anyone know if there’s anything stronger than nurofen I can take for tooth pain that I can get my DH to get from pharmacy? Can’t go to dentist yet as still positive & the pain is dreadful!

chesterelly1 · 07/03/2022 09:07

I'm just checking in and having a look to see what everyone's symptoms are. I had d&v on Friday, came on v sudden, absolutely freezing all night. Headache, tired, achey, now coughing, 3 negative lateral flows, don't know if I should be going for pcr or accept I've got a horrid gastric bug. Reading some comments I think I will keep to myself and re-test in a day or two.
@Littlemiss74 I think the pharmacy would give you cocodamol. They aren't always keen as codeine is addictive but if your DH explains the circumstances and that it's only until you can get to dentist I think it would be fine.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/03/2022 09:13

Day 2. Thought I’d escaped the whole debacle. Feeling ok, if I didn’t have such a bad cough I probably wouldn’t have felt ill enough to test. Really bad cough though, quite violent.

Bickles · 07/03/2022 09:14

Tested positive yesterday. I had Covid last May as well. So far I’m tired, bit headachy and have a scratchy throat and a bit snotty.
I can’t go to work until fully negative and can’t WFH because I’m a dentist.
@Littlemiss74 600mg ibuprofen plus 1000mg paracetamol is your best bet. You should be able to go to the dentist in the next few days, they will wear extra PPE and you’ll have to go at the very end of the day.

Littlemiss74 · 07/03/2022 09:39

@Bickles ah well that was a stroke of luck having a dentist answer my question, thank you! What frequency should I take these in please, how much at any one time? Hope you feel better soon

Chakraleaf · 07/03/2022 10:16

I'm feeling MUCH better now. Out of breath but nothing as bad as it was x

InMySpareTime · 07/03/2022 10:25

Another negative this morning so I'm free to re-enter society.
If it hadn't been for doing the ONS study I'd never have even known I had it.
Given PCR tests stay positive for a while after infection I might have had it before last week, or it might have been false. I'll never know now.

Bickles · 07/03/2022 11:12

Ibuprofen is 3 times in 24 hours
Paracetamol is 4 times in 24 hours.
