Anyone have covid right now?

Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

Day 19 here and now got a post covid chest infection. Love and thoughts to all of us here and suffering...

elliesmummy19 · 07/03/2022 14:51

Just tested positive (my two year old has too). Second time since November urgh!

BIWI · 08/03/2022 09:47

So despite having 2 consecutive negative tests, I'm still snotty - blowing my nose and coughing every now and then - and yesterday evening I realised I'd lost my sense of taste. I'm going to have to test again I think, as I'm supposed to be meeting friends for lunch tomorrow Sad

That's what I had presumed @MiddleAgedLurker. The snottiness I felt was just the last dregs of it, just like when you're getting over a cold - but I didn't expect a new symptom!

DH is experiencing the same thing but he is still - consistently - testing positive. I'm now wondering if my two, consecutive negatives were both false negatives.

lulabelled · 08/03/2022 13:45

I'm on day 9 and still testing positive. I feel like I'm lacking energy and can't be bothered to move- my whole body aches. I'm no longer congested but my sense of taste and smell is off. Still getting headaches too. This is honestly so horrible. 3/4 in my household has tested positive. The first on the 17th Feb and we are all now waiting to see if my DH will get it.

Stokey · 08/03/2022 14:17

Day 8 here and just had my second negative test. Feeling much better, just a little chesty still but so much better than last week. Hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

BIWI · 08/03/2022 14:39

My third test was also negative, so I can only assume that you can continue to develop different symptoms even when the virus is no longer present (or at least that you're no longer infectious)

blinder · 08/03/2022 20:48

I reckon you can rely on the third negative @BIWI. Your viral load must be low, even if you have symptoms.
I’m on Day 6 and I’ve plateaued for two days at Rotten, which is damn well better than Horrific (Day 2-4) but nowhere near Good (Day??).

I have both taste and smell but they are tinged with notes of … smoke? soil? gravel?

Also, despite everyone’s advice, I have worked. I think that hasn’t helped me at all. I’ve got a bloody problem.

StuckInARug · 08/03/2022 21:36

Im day 7 now and feeling much, much better. Still going to bed at 9:30pm, but I am finally able to function again! I’ve been taking a heavy cocktail of vitamins so hopefully that’s helped!

BIWI · 08/03/2022 22:54

Sounds grim @blinder. Can you take time off to rest now? Sounds like you really need to do that.

blinder · 09/03/2022 09:33

Yes I’ve emailed my team and my boss, and I’m taking today and tomorrow off. Friday is already a day off.

Hope everyone is okay.

How are you @lulabelled? Any better today?

Ijustneedtosleep21 · 09/03/2022 09:37

How did everyone feel on day 1&2? I know it's different for everyone but should I prepare myself to feel worse? Headache and full of snot so far. Tired but that's mainly the babies fault...

boomshakalacka · 09/03/2022 10:15

I'm back to work tomorrow after 10 days in isolation and still testing positive....

KnackeredNurse · 09/03/2022 18:50

I'm currently on day 1. Tested positive at lunchtime today. I have a bit of a headache, little bit of a sore throat and feeling tired. Hoping I'm going to get off lightly but will see what happens!

Flowers to everyone else who are positive.

lulabelled · 09/03/2022 20:03

Feeling a little better, but still not 100%. Still testing positive but the line is very faint- I'm thinking that it may be negative tomorrow. Dreading going back to work, I feel like I have such little energy.

How are you feeling @blinder? Hope your feeling a bit better today.

WLAH · 09/03/2022 20:13

Woke with a dull headache and tested positive. Little bit stiffly. Bit of a cough this evening

WLAH · 09/03/2022 20:14

Oh and yesterday couldn't be warmed that I went to bed with hot water bottle at 9pm... but was a chilly day anyhow

BIWI · 09/03/2022 20:15

Yes, that was one of my early symptoms @WLAH. Had to go and have a bath in the end, but had to keep topping up the hot water to get me warm enough!

blinder · 09/03/2022 20:33

Hot baths have been my biggest comfort. A few drops of olbas oil in the bath also really help.

My first symptoms were a runny nose and hot/cold flushes. I’m back to the slight runny nose and mild cough now (Day 8).

I still feel exhausted, like you @lulabelled. Also only a very faint line on the test. I can’t imagine having any motivation and energy again, although I’m sure it will eventually come from somewhere. If you’re still very tired, maybe don’t go back to work until Monday at least, faint line or no.

BIWI · 09/03/2022 20:40

@Ijustneedtosleep21

My first couple of days I genuinely just thought I was catching a cold. Generally feeling grotty - bit of a sore throat and a runny nose. It was only when I realised I was pretty feverish (the whole not being able to get warm thing) that I thought I should test. First symptoms were on Friday, and I tested negative on Sunday. As symptoms progressed - horrible sore throat especially - I tested again on Monday and that was when I got an immediate positive.

Ijustneedtosleep21 · 09/03/2022 20:49

@BIWI I had a notification Monday to say I was a close contact on Saturday. DH has been away but said he had a headache all last week and felt groggy. I tested Monday which was negative, had a bad headache yesterday and positive, tested DH & baby (snotty & cough) last night and both positive. Tested toddler tonight as she has been coughing today and positive. I'm shattered but baby doesn't sleep so that doesn't help.

Sunflowersinthewind · 09/03/2022 21:02

Has anyone had a painful chest and coughing up green mucus? Bit worried now (day 3) although my muscle pain has eased tonight

BIWI · 09/03/2022 21:03

Oh dear Sad. One of the things that did help was that DH and I slept in separate rooms, which meant I didn't worry about tossing and turning/not being able to sleep on the first couple of nights, but then sleeping very well after that.

Adding small children into the mix makes things even harder. Flowers

StuckInARug · 10/03/2022 06:50

@Sunflowersinthewind I didn’t but when I saw the urgent care GP she was asking if I had chest pain and what colour my mucus was…. Is suspect she wanted to check if I had a chest infection (which I didn’t). So might be worth calling your GP and seeing if maybe you need antibiotics?
