Anyone else done now?

Know I'll get slated but I'm so past caring.

Anyone else just completely done with it now? Ran out of LFTs ages ago and I'll never do another again, wouldn't even go for a PCR now with symptoms tbh. I'd stay in until I felt better like I do with everything else and then crack on.

The only reason I wear masks in shops is because of people moaning if you don't. As soon as it's no longer required that'll be in the bin.

I actually took it really seriously the past two years and did everything we were supposed to. Triple jabbed etc etc... But I can't be arsed giving it anymore headspace now. I'm sick of hearing about it, sick of seeing it on the news, sick of people talking about it.

From today on I highly doubt I'll ever voluntarily think about Covid again, in a way that restricts anything I do anyway.

No, not done here. Was diagnosed as CEV last week so will be doing my best to avoid people who simply don't care about me and the very many people in the same situation.

Lucky for you to be "done" with it though.

That's okay, you can avoid me all you like that's entirely you're choice.

I'm sympathetic but really, how long do you want people to keep doing this for?

Yes done and so glad I’m in UK where it’s SO much more relaxed than many places.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but people can't be held responsible for the health of the entire nation forever. It's time for EVERYONE to make their own risk assessments.

Do you expect people to restrict their lives forevermore though? Really, what more can be done at this point?
Allsorts1 · 21/01/2022 20:19

@BettyfromBristol

People who are CEV have ALL my sympathies, that must be bloody tough. However I also don’t really understand how it relates to continued restrictions. If you’re CEV for covid surely you were CEV for bad a winter flu as well? What did CEV people do back in pre-covid times during winter and why has the onus shifted onto society now? Genuinely seeking to understand rather than criticise or seem unfeeling so I hope you don’t take that the wrong way!

Elzbells · 21/01/2022 20:21

I'm done and have been probably since the schools finally went back in March.

Hate wearing masks, only had 1 jab and not interested in getting anymore. Had Covid this Xmas and was ill for a week and now fine. No worse than a mild flu.

Gonna burn every mask in the house next week and hope the whole world is done by Sumner so I can go abroad without all the rigmarole of the testing/isolation shite.

Againstmachine · 21/01/2022 20:21

Yep done a long time ago, I go out where and when I want no tests and now no mask bullshit.

gettingolderandgrumpy · 21/01/2022 20:22

@Wizzbangfizz

But be warned OP it won't be long til the doom-mongers descend who thrive on unending restrictions and who to them we are "selfish murderers"...
I think even they’ve given up now .

Whilst I have sympathy it is also upto you to protect yourself, you should never rely on others to do it for you.

Its not that we don't care it's that we have a right to live our life's as we see fit.

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2022 20:25

I've done everything. I've had three jabs, I've had Covid and I have done all the social distancing and mask wearing. I have a close relative who is CEV and they have had 4 jabs and also had covid plus the anti viral drip. I think we're about there.

Blubells · 21/01/2022 20:28

Yes, I'm definitely 'done' and feel we've sacrificed soo much over the past two years, especially the young people!!

AllisoninWunderland · 21/01/2022 20:28

Yep also done.
Am inordinately happy that masks and passports are going in the bin next week.
Only had one jab and never having anymore.
Covid was very mild for me.

I’ve never been more happy to be in England though I feel so sad for those in Canada, NZ, Australia and parts of Europe to name but a few who must feel like we do but are still living under strict restrictions 😞

Whatsyourfavouritescarymovie · 21/01/2022 20:28

Yep, done in this household.
We actually have covid at the moment for the 1st time, both of us get a week off work which will be nice.

southeastdweller · 21/01/2022 20:31

I was done a while ago. Don't test, don't wear masks anymore, not having a booster. It's pretty much over. There's other things we should be prioritising now, as a country.

How long will it before someone says 'The virus isn't done with YOU!'?

Someone will be along with a graph shortly no doubt.
Iggly · 21/01/2022 20:35

I’m very much tired of it. But being tired and over it doesn’t mean I don’t pay attention to scientific advice 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I’m actually done with our shit show of a government and not knowing what they’re going to do next tbh.

Flyonawalk · 21/01/2022 20:36

Yes, done.

Can we start assessing the damage and repairing people? The children whose life-chances have been limited, the businesses lost, the addicts who have slid down, the people living alone who have suffered greatly?

It is too late for the tens of thousands whose cancers have been missed.

Hopefully enough of us can see through the lies, exaggeration and gaslighting to ensure that we don’t collectively fall for this again.

If you are vulnerable and have had the booster, why are you worrying? It’s no more than a cold.
MrsSkylerWhite · 21/01/2022 20:38

Everyone ought to behave according to their personal circumstances.
My husband is CEV so we will continue with our precautions. We will restrict our social interactions and wear our FFP3s when we’re out and about.
Our children are (just about) adult, our grandchild also. Young, healthy people. I’m delighted that they can go about their lives without restriction. Our youngest chooses to wear masks on public transport and during lectures because he wants to do what he can to protect us (he comes home at weekends) and our eldest and her husband LFT prior to visiting us or his parents (usually two or three times each week, we’re all local).

It’s no big deal to anyone. We all love each other.

Otherwise, life goes on pretty much normally,

User135644 · 21/01/2022 20:41

I think two years is as much as most people can stand, especially for something that is extremely likely to be relatively mild if you're vaccinated.

Flyonawalk · 21/01/2022 20:42

@MrsSkylerWhite That is a brilliant post. I wish you all continued good health.

User135644 · 21/01/2022 20:42

Also the fact millions have had Covid just in the last month or two. Psychologically they're not going to be bothered.

narcdad · 21/01/2022 20:42

I was done with covid last Christmas!

Email from school today (primary) saying they may have to close some classes next week.

That’s all very well but that wasn’t the reason for shutting down. It was to not overwhelm the NHS. That bit needs resolving still!!
