Anyone else done now?

Know I'll get slated but I'm so past caring.

Anyone else just completely done with it now? Ran out of LFTs ages ago and I'll never do another again, wouldn't even go for a PCR now with symptoms tbh. I'd stay in until I felt better like I do with everything else and then crack on.

The only reason I wear masks in shops is because of people moaning if you don't. As soon as it's no longer required that'll be in the bin.

I actually took it really seriously the past two years and did everything we were supposed to. Triple jabbed etc etc... But I can't be arsed giving it anymore headspace now. I'm sick of hearing about it, sick of seeing it on the news, sick of people talking about it.

From today on I highly doubt I'll ever voluntarily think about Covid again, in a way that restricts anything I do anyway.

I think the conversation about long covid needs to be reframed as well - post viral fatigue syndrome has always existed.

Mickarooni · 22/01/2022 09:58

This is such a weird thread given plan B is being lifted in a matter of days and the legal requirement for isolation is also going. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why weird?
Alliswells · 22/01/2022 10:02

I'm done too OP. I will never take another test ... If I'm ill I will do what I usually did pre Covid... Self care and common sense. I don't need a test to tell me not to be sneezing or coughing all over the office. I'll stay at home and take lemsips and seek medical advice if I worsen.

I won't be wearing a mask.
I won't be doing regular LFT, I won't ever again be taking unreliable tests for an illness I've no symptoms of, for which Ive been triple vaccinated against which doesn't stop me from catching it or spreading it.

Done done done.

Mickarooni · 22/01/2022 10:05

@MarshaBradyo

I understand when people said they were done when we were in the thick of restrictions but on a positive note, it really does look like we are moving forward. You may be “done” (I think most of us are!) but all the signs agree that we are actually done with the worst of it.

Why is it weird? We won't be back to normal by any means.
Mickarooni · 22/01/2022 10:05

@Sparklingbrook

I think we are slowly getting back to normal - especially when isolation is not longer a legal requirement - but perhaps I’m being too optimistic.

MarshaBradyo · 22/01/2022 10:08

We will do I agree but isolating stopping is March so a bit of time away

Alysskea · 22/01/2022 10:08

The thing is.... the virus doesn't give a toss how 'done' you are.

I know but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Isolation has completely ruined our family weekend plans for a special event. :( we’ve been planning for ages and the people concerned are asymptomatic too. So crappy.

Given that the virus is a microscopic organism on the edge of life, then no, I don't expect it does.

No way! I didn't realise that until you said it. Hmm
Mookie81 · 22/01/2022 10:38

@Sparklingbrook

I'm dubious as to how ill he really was. I wouldn't put it past him to take a bed for a day or so to seem worse than he was. Or even pretend to take a bed

I suppose you can speculate if you want, but I am sure there were HCPs treating him that could confirm.

And you don't think they may have been coerced into doing an interview that was stretching the truth?

The feeling's mutual....I don't give a toss about how 'done' covid is either.

@Tealightsandd You can "want it" as much as you like but it isn't happening, so stop copy and pasting the same tired lines on every MN covid post.

They're obsessed with HEPA filters!

It's just the latest in a long line of things to bang on about. First it was everyone double vaxxed, then masks, then boosters and now once all that's been exhausted we've landed at hepa filters. There will always be something.

Flapjacker48 · 22/01/2022 10:55

Probably same handful (or one sock puppet) of posters have shares in a company that makes HEPA filers.

I'm really hoping you only posted this so you can win Sparkling's prize, but I fear I may be wrong.

Also - and I'm pretty certain you DO know this - but a virus isn't sentient and really has no capabilities to give a toss or not!

Yes there’s a never ending list. Cross out the top one and add another to the bottom. Make sure it’s posted on every single thread just to be sure. Bingo!
HoneyFlowers · 22/01/2022 11:16

After being so so careful for so long not going out socially, not seeing anyone, being only one to wear masks I thought sod it, I went to the seaside for the weekend and caught Covid! Yes I spent a day in bed and I'm tired, but the cold I had before Christmas was far worse! I'm now stuck indoors, I've had to postpone £££££ of work and still can't go out because of isolation time. I have lived in fear and I am grateful to the vaccinations but part of me is thinking wow, was that it?

I think so too, but it's likely to be a couple of months before isolation goes. So it's still a very present concern for many people which is understandable.
@Sparklingbrook but do you do that with other things you’re not interested in?

Talking about it implies that actually you are interested in it. Why protest so hard that you’re ‘done’ when you’re clearly not? ‘Fed up’, ‘sick of’ etc I get but that’s not finished with.
I'm interested to hear how many people are done with it 😁

I'm not wound up. I'm actually really relaxed. I was curious to see who else felt like me on here and refreshingly it seems a lot.
