And if you chose not to please don’t give COVID to my red zone working partner.

I’m CEV, I’m positive, I can have only caught it from him - and he works In a red zone where last week 98% of patients were not vaccinated

Sorry for the moan.

Being vaccinated does not prevent you catching it or passing it on, it means your own symptoms will be less severe.

YANBU.

Our local booster clinic was cancelled due to no one booking Shock seemingly the majority of people contacted-all ages-were ‘thinking about it’.

I hope you will be okay. Did you have the letter through re antivirals if positive?

SlashBeef · 10/01/2022 10:40

Oh stop.

millymolls · 10/01/2022 10:40

You do realise triple vaccinated catch it and pass it on ?
And before someone says less likely, that’s not correct according to data in the BMJ and Lancet and other factual data statistics
Stop being a drama queen

You do realise that the vaccines don’t stop the transmission of the virus? Everyone I know who has had covid in the last few weeks has been vaccinated, my bf’s very large Irish family caught it over Xmas, one (vaccinated) person brought it over from England with them and the whole family (all vaccinated) spanning several different households all went down with it to.

Serenschintte · 10/01/2022 10:41

My Ds 17 got vaccinated. 2nd vax was end October He’s currently on the sofa with a positive PCR. All the friends he went away with were vaccinated too. As was the relative who unknowingly gave her son Covid.
I’m really sorry you have Covid. But you can’t blame it on the unvaccinated based on the evidence out there.
I hope you feel better really soon.

BlueLines81 · 10/01/2022 10:41

*too

Urthie · 10/01/2022 10:41

I’m vaccinated, we have been super careful - he’s working with unvaccinated people, he’s got it, I’ve now got it …

Vaccines don’t stop the spread, but they do have a good chance of you not ending up in ITU

They all have Covid too now.

Hmm
TinaYouFatLard · 10/01/2022 10:43

Ongoing bullying and coercion is not working to convince people who are hesitant. If anything it is making them even more entrenched.

ams1210 · 10/01/2022 10:43

YABVU also not everyone who is unvaxxed has ended up in ICU🙄

Theunamedcat · 10/01/2022 10:43

Red zone? So working with positive people?

As others have said, their vaccination status won't have stopped you catching it. Half of my double vaccinated and boosted side of the family caught it just after Christmas and spread it amongst themselves. We didn't socialise widely to avoid that.

What are you worried about if you're vaccinated and boostered then..?
XenoBitch · 10/01/2022 10:48

YABU
Your partner could have caught it when doing the shopping. Stop blaming people for a virus. especially one that is evading vaccines anyway.

TheVolturi · 10/01/2022 10:49

Vaccines don't stop you passing it on op, I'm sure you know that. Vaccines only protect the person vaccinated, not others. It makes no difference to you or your partner if people are vaccinated or not?

DiddyHeck · 10/01/2022 10:50

Your partner is doing a job that you feel puts you at increased risk. That's a shame but they are the only one capable of changing that.

Lavender24 · 10/01/2022 10:51

Vaccines don’t stop the spread, but they do have a good chance of you not ending up in ITU

So then why does it make any difference to you if others aren't vaccinated?

Tal45 · 10/01/2022 10:51

I think you're all missing the point that he is in a red with 98% unvaxxed people. If they were vaxxed they probably wouldn't be in as they be much less likely to need hospital care and he wouldn't be constantly exposed to so many positive people.

If you're going to say that the BMJ and Lancet say that you're just as likely to catch covid from someone triple vaxxed as unvaxxed then you should put up the links.

GirlInACountrySong · 10/01/2022 10:53

We know that @Tal45 !!

But OP caught Covid from her (I assume) triple vaxxed partner. And he (OP assumes) caught it at work. Honestly, this far into the pandemic, I am surprised she has avoided it for so long.
