Are these clear positives? I just can’t believe it. My dd was shielding. We’ve been ultra careful with her. These are hers, we are now waiting on PCR

You spend a good chunk of headspace trying to 'live with covid' when you (or a loved one) is CEV. Forgive them for fearing the worst and retesting for whatever reason before booking a PCR. Or no?

Anyway, my vulnerable husband has not needed to order any lateral flows recently, he had two boxes sitting around the house ready for the busy holiday period; his consultant told him to be ready to test a few times a week during the last few weeks of DS's school term, and the busy Christmas period. DH has to inform the hospital once he is positive (and likely go in), so he tested twice because the line was a bit faint and it so happens his second test was negative. I can't imagine how I'd feel if this were my child who was possibly positive. All the 'I can't get tests because of you' people will soon disappear once this current wave is over, and some CEV people can then go back to what they've been having to do to 'live with covid' without being accused of inconveniencing others as they try.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 30/12/2021 20:50

Don't apologise op. Just ignore them.

MerryChristmas21 · 30/12/2021 20:50

@wwyd2021medicine

Well I'm currently stuck as no lfts to be had and a household member has covid.
Sorry to hear that, but that doesn't excuse you having a go at the OP. Her tests wouldn't make any difference to your situation. She has a shielded child & wasn't able to get a PCR for her.

@Flossie44. I'm sorry, it's such a worry with those shielding, very much so when it's your child. Ignore all the whinging about 3 tests.

Hopefully it will be very mild for DD - let us know how you're getting on x

PrivateHall · 30/12/2021 20:51

OP, she has had positive LFTs and has symptoms so yes, she probably does have covid. It is fantastic that she has been vaccinated. I hope she doesn't get anymore unwell op Flowers I am sure you are very stressed but when it is over you will see happier times as it will be over with and she will be ok Flowers

Missushbb · 30/12/2021 20:51

i really feel for you OP, i was always worried about my other half getting
it and he is a grown adult, can't imagine the worry if it was a child. you will get through this.

Panicmode1 · 30/12/2021 20:52

Hope she's OK. My DS has just tested positive and he's only left the house once since 22nd Dec. We went for a dog walk in the rain with another family...he barely spoke to their child who tested positive the day after we met (I mean 30 sec chat, and then walked about 5m apart) and yet he's positive. Rest of us still negative. So weird!

Summersdreaming · 30/12/2021 20:52

@AgathaMystery

You took the tests apart?! Hmm what on Earth.
I think OP means they were taken at different times/days, not 3 one after another.
Heckythump1 · 30/12/2021 20:52

@AgathaMystery

You took the tests apart?! Hmm what on Earth.
Think she means apart on seperate occasions, not that she dismantled them :P
WonderfulYou · 30/12/2021 20:53

Look positive, but they are the messiest tests I’ve seen?!

I agree.
Do you know if they were dropped?

If she is positive it will be the omicron strain which for most people will be very mild and she’s double jabbed so she has even more protection!

Those getting seriously ill and ending up in hospital are the unvaccinated so please try not to worry yourself or your daughter.

If she is positive she has already got it so if she’s not showing many symptoms then that’s great!

Watapalava · 30/12/2021 20:53

They just look water logged to me

Like you’ve added too many drops

MagentaRocks · 30/12/2021 20:55

@AgathaMystery

You took the tests apart?! Hmm what on Earth.
She means over the course of a couple of days
FuckeryIsAfoot · 30/12/2021 20:56

@Heckythump1

Definitely positive, and definitely a waste of tests when there's a shortage of them at present!
The fact you think that's appropriate to even bring up in this case is shocking and disgusting. This is a mum and little girl worried out of their minds, taking tests while waiting for PCR, hoping it'll come up negative so they can relax. Prick.
GreenLunchBox · 30/12/2021 20:57

@Flossie44

Some people on here can be super cruel and heartless
It's absolutely ridiculous
Northsoutheastwest76 · 30/12/2021 20:57

Hope she is OK OP. Honestly don't worry about the tests. Totally understandable in the circumstances.
I

underneaththeash · 30/12/2021 20:57

Not sure why people are being so mean OP - you must be worried.

I’m sure she’ll be okay.
We were very worried when the girl in my daughters class who has heart failure, tested positive a couple of months ago.
She was unwell, but not that unwell and is fine now.

canary1 · 30/12/2021 20:59

Please ignore anyone going on about numbers of tests, I hope your daughter is okay xxx

GreenLunchBox · 30/12/2021 20:59

@AgathaMystery

You took the tests apart?! Hmm what on Earth.
You're obviously hard of thinking Hmm back at you
Lilifer · 30/12/2021 21:02

@Flossie44

Cornelius- thank you for your kind words.

To the other posters..I’m sorry

Please don't apologise - you don't owe random strangers on the internet any apologies or explanations especially to busybodies like the above Pearl clutches

I hope you dd is ok 💐

Totallyfoodedout · 30/12/2021 21:03

A few bits of plastic vs the health of your child - please ignore the ridiculous comments OP.
I hope your daughter is OK and recovers soon Flowers

Newyearnewme2022 · 30/12/2021 21:03

Don’t apologise op, you’ve done nothing wrong. Having a CEV child is worry at the best of times.
My CEV child has received 2 letters in the last week offering treatment within 24 hours of a positive test, I’m guessing it’s the anti virals. You need to ring 111 and tell them your situation, you should receive treatment as soon as the positive PCR comes back.
I really hope it’s a mild case. Make sure to look after yourself too, parent carers always put their own welfare last Flowers

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/12/2021 21:04

@AgathaMystery oh dear! Hopefully you aren’t actually solving mysteries!

Queenoftheashes · 30/12/2021 21:04

Were the tests all from same box? A friend had three positives from one box and a negative from another. Her PCR was negative.

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/12/2021 21:05

@Flossie44 ignore the idiots. I really wouldn’t worry about their opinions.

Glintwithpersperation · 30/12/2021 21:05

@flossie44 you have no need to apologise 💙 I hope that your daughter has mild symptoms.
I don’t know what has happened to people, some of the responses are shameful
