Are these clear positives? I just can’t believe it. My dd was shielding. We’ve been ultra careful with her. These are hers, we are now waiting on PCR

Yes they look positive. Sorry 😞

2boysand1princess · 30/12/2021 20:21

Hopefully she won’t have many symptoms, and there’s hope that if it’s omricon then it’s a lot milder Flowers

wwyd2021medicine · 30/12/2021 20:21

Yes
But I don't see a need for 3 lfts?
Surely one would have been enough to show she needed a pcr

Eslteacher06 · 30/12/2021 20:22

Yes, they're positive. I hope she's ok.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 30/12/2021 20:22

Look positive, but they are the messiest tests I’ve seen?!

WoodenReindeer · 30/12/2021 20:23

Yes sorry. Have the test ofnyou tested? Id book a pcr for all of you.

If you're shielding is there a consultant/GP you need to contact?

Refrosty · 30/12/2021 20:24
Flowers

My ECV DH and I have had tests that look like that. We are both also awaiting PCR (his second one was negative, and we'll just go with what the PCR says).

If it's any consolation, if DH does have it, he's got nothing more than a slight cough and headache and we're around day 3-5 now.

SergeiL · 30/12/2021 20:24

So sorry to hear this. I am not sure what condition your daughter has but mine is immune compromised (but classed as CV not CEV) and she sailed through it despite no jabs yet. This probably doesn’t help, but just posting in case it does.

Refrosty · 30/12/2021 20:25

His second lateral flow is negative*

DramaAlpaca · 30/12/2021 20:25

I've never seen LFTs that look like that after testing. What did you do?

They do have a second line which is positive.

There was no need to waste two tests, just get a PCR after one positive.

TinyLittlePandaSneeze · 30/12/2021 20:26

Why 3? Are they different days/people?

SergeiL · 30/12/2021 20:27

Given the OPs obvious distress, can we maybe move on from the 3 tests issue?

Flossie44 · 30/12/2021 20:27

Apologies for those I’ve upset by doing more than one test. Those are over 2 days awaiting a PCR as none been available. We’ve now got her tested today.

She’s CEV, immune suppressed and spent all her life this way. She’s 13 now. It’s a worry

Heckythump1 · 30/12/2021 20:28

Definitely positive, and definitely a waste of tests when there's a shortage of them at present!

CorneliusVetch · 30/12/2021 20:28

There are limited PCR tests available. This is a CEV shielding child. I think we should lay off the OP for wanting to test again on an LFT to make sure.

OP I hope your DD is ok Flowers

wwyd2021medicine · 30/12/2021 20:28

Well I'm currently stuck as no lfts to be had and a household member has covid.

TinyLittlePandaSneeze · 30/12/2021 20:29

@SergeiL

Given the OPs obvious distress, can we maybe move on from the 3 tests issue?
Ah reread the OP after this sorry OP. Yes all hers. Were they all today?

They do look positive sorry, have you done one? They look messy which is odd. But yes positive.

I hope it is mild for your DD xx

bumblefeline · 30/12/2021 20:29

Hope your dd is ok op Flowers

Flossie44 · 30/12/2021 20:30

To the other posters..I’m sorry

Largethighsbadeyes · 30/12/2021 20:30

Sorry OP. How is she feeling at the moment?

SergeiL · 30/12/2021 20:32

Keeping everything crossed.

Flossie44 · 30/12/2021 20:33

Wwyd- I called town council who provided me with two boxes of tests. I just had to pull up outside and they dropped them to my car.

Large - she’s ok. Just heavy chest and headache.

OP posts:
SergeiL · 30/12/2021 20:33

Sorry hit post too soon - keeping everything crossed that she isn’t too poorly with it.

Snowisfalling33 · 30/12/2021 20:33

Hi! Just commenting to send you good wishes.... the thing is that at this point I'm guessing she's vaccinated, her age is in her favour which will help. Omnicron is milder and treatment if she does need it is now so much better than it used to be. So chances are that she'll be absolutely fine and you'll all feel much less anxious once it's over with.
Hope she feels better soon.

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/12/2021 20:35

I hope she isn’t too poorly.

Just out of interest, Did you move the tests?
