How can they still say nothing?

So numbers today over 183,000. How can BoJo and his cronies still be making no statement? No clear guidance, nothing. I'm not wanting lockdown or anything but can't believe they're so quiet over all this.

@Stirling2701

BJ is being bossed around by his pesky back benchers. They are the source of so much angst and trouble.
Which might be right but it's strange how a PM with such a big majority can be cowered by the back benches. Blair certainly never was, whereas Cameron and May could have only dreamed of that kind of majority, therefore were forced into concessions.

I think Boris is afraid of being booted out.

JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 09:24

Boris was, and always will be a chancer.

He wasn't thar popular amongst MPs before brexit or even after because of his poor work ethic and lack of seriousness.

rrhuth · 31/12/2021 09:25

@mellongoose

I thought you wanted to be lighthearted *@rrhuth* Only when it suits, I suppose!
It was you who set the tone to 'sanctimonious'. Why don't we just drop it?

I have adequately made my point on the thread for all to see.

rrhuth · 31/12/2021 09:26

I read something about Johnson that everyone likes him until they get to know him.

I think his MPs know him a lot better now than they did two years ago!

Exactly. How much do people actually want to be spoonfed? Surely by now, people know to limit socialising, maintain social distancing, masks, hand hygiene etc.

Which is impossible in schools.

And round we go again.

I know quite a few teachers with long covid. They should have been vaccinated in phase 2 but stuff the teachers. But schools must open.

No other profession would be doing this without full ppe. But teachers. Nah in you go, just like the cannon fodder of the First World War.

Hercisback · 31/12/2021 09:45

@mellongoose You did lie. Your first post said the NEU wanted people vaccinated before the elderly and vulnerable. Turns out they wanted teachers vaccinated alongside phase 2. That is along with the 40/50yos. Not before them.

This would have been a good idea and probably helped two of my under 40yo colleagues who ended up in ICU. It probably would have also meant another colleague didn't get long covid.

JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 09:46

Oh dear @mellongoose it's not going well is it?

StoodOnAPlug · 31/12/2021 09:49

@JohnHuffam1812

Don"t worry *@rrhuth*.

That poster is just a died in the wool government supporter who will over look facts and present their own truths to justify their stance

I think you mean "dyed in the wool". I think your confusion stems from the words "dyed" and "died" sounding the same, but being spelled differently when written down.
JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 09:51

No confusion, just typing fast on a phone and didn't read back.

Thanks for being so patronising though. Did it make you feel superior?

Bertiebiscuit · 31/12/2021 09:52

Johnson has no moral authority, everyone has seen through him now, he is dead man walking so we on completely leaderless, so we have to take responsibility for our own health, wear a mask, take the tests, self isolate etc etc, just as a lot of us have been doing for nearly 2 years

mellongoose · 31/12/2021 09:54
@mellongoose you absolutely did lie.

You claimed that the teaching unions had demanded that Teacher were vaccinated before the elderly and at risk.

Even now you've lied again, the unions asked for teachers to be vaccinated as part of phase 2, ie along with those in their 40s and 50s, not before.

Why do you need to lie to try to make points? Is it because your other points are so weak that you have to try to stir the pot?
No I didn't.

mellongoose · 31/12/2021 09:55

@JohnHuffam1812 other posters have warned me about your disingenuous posting.

mellongoose · 31/12/2021 09:55

You and I will disagree and I Ann grateful we live in a country where this is allowed and encouraged.

I wish you well.

Hercisback · 31/12/2021 09:56

Don't forget, it was NEU who was insisting that teachers were vaccinated before the old and vulnerable in society.

Direct quote @mellongoose

I am leaving now to collect the ashes of a much loved pet. I would rather leave it there.

They wanted teachers given priority in Phase 2 which isn’t quite what you’re suggesting.

neu.org.uk/press-releases/joint-education-statement-vaccines

The JCVI stuck with an age based priority instead and prioritised 50 and then 40 year olds.

rrhuth · 31/12/2021 10:06

Sorry about your pet Flowers
JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 10:12

@mellongoose

As you can see from all of the other posters there is nothing wrong with what I'm saying.

You lied, twice now about what the NEU wanted. It's been proven.

Oh for goodness sake let it go. It’s much less black and white than you’re suggesting and your posts are starting to appear rather mean

JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 10:15

@LittleBearPad

Prioritised doesn't mean vaccinated before.

It means as part of phase 2. Now, there is a very valid.point to say that those unable to work from home and dealing with care of children should get Prioritised.

However it's not saying they should get it before anyone else as claimed.

Another falsehood

Time to start doling out the Ivermectin.

No I'll post what I like. @mellongoose presents as an extremely combative poster and then runs away when it's proved that what she claimed (twice) was false.
Yeah but you are also extremely combative. Neither of you coming off well in this little battle.

JohnHuffam1812 · 31/12/2021 10:24

Combative needs combative back. Seems they don't like it.
