Just posting for some sympathy and a bit of a rant really. Whole family did LFTs today before seeing family tomorrow and mine is positive. I've booked a PCR for 9am tomorrow morning but that's our Christmas ruined. Fuck
I'm triple jabbed and have had Covid before, had it in April 2020 before there was community testing available.
I suspect I got it at the pantomime I went to earlier in the week but who really knows
FUCK Angry

This type of activity is the reason we are still living under restrictions

I have had to console my 17 year old daughter who tested positive with no symptoms but understands Grandma and Papa won’t be coming for Xmas

Yes it sucks but my daughter is mature enough to understand the consequences if we meet up

Shame on ur and ur family[/quote]
There's no shame; we will be enjoying Christmas.
My family are well informed and wish to take the risk. So be it.

Nono, I'd be looking at the hospitality industry - I hear COVID spreads like wildfire in nightclubs with no windows! Or ... the crowded pub or restaurant! Hell ... what am I to do??!!

Yellownotblue · 25/12/2021 01:00

My family are well informed and wish to take the risk.

Considering you said they’re mostly unvaxxed, it’s highly doubtful they are well informed...

newusername2009 · 25/12/2021 01:00

Family member hosting tomorrow, tested positive the other day so gave everyone choice to attend or not. All decided to go anyway.

We have fabulous immune systems. All are healthy and fit.

I imagine you'll be waiting patiently for your 4th booster.

Enjoy.

MerryChristmas21 · 25/12/2021 01:03

@Acinaces

I tested positive on Wednesday - no symptoms whatsoever. My family still want to visit; Christmas will go as planned.
Fabulous, then they can spread it far & wide, maybe even book some hospital beds!

How in gods name can people be SO selfish & stupid?

toomuchlaundry · 25/12/2021 01:05

Pity they don’t have brain cells to go with their fabulous immune systems

DrBlackbird · 25/12/2021 01:08

Well nice job at a complete ‘it’s all about me’ derail thus reinforcing the belief that it’s the selfish wankers who continue to help spread this nasty virus and perpetuate the pandemic regardless of whether one works in the NHS or not.

Meanwhile sorry to hear your news OP Flowers and joining you as another cancelled Christmas as funnily enough we don’t think exposing DH’s elderly DM to her DGD’s Covid is the greatest of ideas. Go figure.

Happy Christmas to everyone else 🎄 🎄

😁

Nevermind, we’re the sheeple for following the rules while we could just embrace any old conspiracy theory about “fabulous immune systems”

Are you serious?!!

It's seriously not your business lol.

Of course it is, it's everyone's business if people aren't following the law & are risking other peoples health!
MerryChristmas21 · 25/12/2021 01:17

@starsparkle08

Why are so many people testing when they have no symptoms
Which rock have you been under??

People are testing because they want to do their best to protect other people from getting it.

The real question is Why are you NOT testing??

Cissyandflora · 25/12/2021 01:21

I’ve got it too. Single parent. I’m just going to do my best.

MimiDaisy11 · 25/12/2021 01:25

Another one in same situation OP. My son was going to spend first Christmas at grandparents but we’re having to stay. Both partner and baby not feeling the best so we’re going for a relaxing Christmas in our PJs.

Absolutely disgusting isn't it.

Theunamedcat · 25/12/2021 01:32

Same here got my booster yesterday then got a message saying I had a close contact Monday so I tested and it was positive 😌

Theunamedcat · 25/12/2021 01:32

Literally no symptoms I just feel like I've had booster jab

shivermetimbers77 · 25/12/2021 01:39

Oh hell, I just took an LFT and it’s positive : what a wonderful present for Christmas morning 🙄 We were having a quiet one anyway as my son is also positive but this means our plans for his release from quarantine on 28th are truly scuppered! Bugger. Oh well, at least I bought a big bottle of Baileys yesterday. That’ll do me.

llm24 · 25/12/2021 06:38

@Acinaces

Willing to take the risk , I hope it’s a risk worth taking

Your a disgrace 😡

Crazycatlady83 · 25/12/2021 06:52

For anyone that is interested, my DMum LFT was a false positive. She has just got the results of the PCR (took at 11am yesterday, results back by 6am - thanks NHS!) and they were negative!

So sorry that not everyone had as good a news as us! Wishing everyone a happy a Christmas as you can in the circumstances

fedup078 · 25/12/2021 07:09

@Crazycatlady83 yes my friend had a positive lft last week closely followed by a negative pcr and multiple negative lft's

Maassi · 25/12/2021 07:35

@acinaces

You are an utter UTTER disgrace to the NHS and I say that as someone that works frontline NHS, deals with seriously ill covid positive patients on a daily basis and has also had family die from Covid before vaccinations came in.

You sicken me.

Workinghardeveryday · 25/12/2021 07:44

@Acinaces you would get on really well with Neil from the ‘Rage’ thread. You sound perfect for each other, both selfish as fuck

LadyNell · 25/12/2021 08:03

Son tested positive yesterday so Christmas cancelled were going for dinner at my parents and out tomorrow but not now
