Has anyone lived with someone covid positive and NOT been infected?

Currently self isolating with DP in a one bedroom flat, but the layout of which makes it essentially a studio apartment.

He tested positive two days ago.

I’m waiting for my PCR result but all of my LFTs so far have been negative.

I’m triple vaccinated but it seems so odd that I haven’t had a positive test yet, given we live together in a flat with terrible ventilation with minimal space.

I work in a patient facing role and the thought of getting a negative test and having to go back to work and potentially infecting someone is making me feel sick. I am genuinely almost hoping that it’s positive just so that I can stay indoors and keep everyone else around me out of harms way.

We are staying apart as much as possible but as I’ve said above it’s almost impossible given the living space.

5 of us. 3 children 2 adults. All 3 children and partner caught it, I never.

Gah81 · 19/12/2021 08:55

Yes, me and DH in a similar set up to the one you describe. I was double jabbed and we kept all the windows open, all the time.

IWishTheBishopWell · 19/12/2021 08:58

DH didn't isolate from me when I had Covid as we didn't have the space and had shared a car together for about 6 hours the day before. He never caught it. This was in August so I assume I had delta.

Ridiculousradish · 19/12/2021 09:03

My son had Covid about a month ago. We slept next to each other the whole time. I didn't catch it from him. Am not vaccinated.

Gizlotsmum · 19/12/2021 09:05

Just to add to the others we are on day 7 with our son being positive, not tried to isolate from him, daily LFTs all negative and PCRs done on day 4 all negative.

TheOldStar · 19/12/2021 09:12

I had it a while back before our age group was vaccinated. DH hadn’t been vaccinated and didn’t catch it despite sharing a bed until I was tested. Our DC didn’t catch it either. They must have natural immunity as took LFT daily and all negative.

Ridiculousradish · 19/12/2021 09:13

I did a PCR at the same time as my son...daily lateral flow tests during isolation. Regular lateral flow tests since then. Work in hospitality, been busy. Don't wear a mask at work (do when I occasionally go into a shop).

LongBlobson · 19/12/2021 09:16

Two people in our house (one adult, one child) got it at the same time, the other two didn't. We had been on holiday together, all sleeping in one space, long car journeys with windows shut...

Couldn't quite believe it, so kept testing but always came back negative, and we got no symptoms.

Wfhquery · 19/12/2021 09:19

My dh had Covid about a month ago. I didn’t catch but I’d had booster about 2 weeks before but my son didn’t catch either and he’s too young for any of the jabs. We’re only in a small house so dh couldn’t isolate although I did sleep downstairs.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 19/12/2021 09:20

DD1 had it and no one else caught it despite all isolating together as per the rules at the time. DD2 is currently positive and so far LFT are negative for the other 3 of us.

SayAaa · 19/12/2021 09:32

None of us caught it from DD and made no attempt to isolate from her either (as she's a child!!)

changingstages · 19/12/2021 10:11

Yes, DD (10) has had it, about to finish isolation. She has been really, really unwell and has spent much of it in bed with me. I haven't caught it (double jabbed, about to get booster!) and neither has DH (triple jabbed). We think probably Delta variant, and we are feeling very thankful for our vaccines.

Bear2014 · 19/12/2021 10:16

Our 7 year-old DD has it and we haven't got it (triple jabbed) but nor has 4-year old DS. They've played together all week.

Lanique · 19/12/2021 10:17

Yes my whole family, and I didn't isolate from them either. We were lucky.

SenseSphere · 19/12/2021 10:18

Yes, my DP and DD.

I tested positive and they didn’t.

daisypond · 19/12/2021 10:21

My adult daughter - double jabbed - who lives with us had it. DH and I - triple jabbed - never got it.

blablablack · 19/12/2021 10:29

Not personally but I know a few friends and family.

1 adult got it and no one else in the household which included 2 teens and a 7yr old.

1 adult got it but the other adult and 2 kids didn't.

1 adult got it and passed on to other adult but 2 teenagers didn't get it.

santabetterwashhishands · 19/12/2021 10:39

My friends husband cautght covid so did both her children. My friend was on the shielding list during lockdown so was concerned she was going to catch it but she didn't and obviously she couldn't hide away from her children who she cared for throughout their isolation period.

EmmaOvary · 19/12/2021 10:40

I was recently positive and DH and DS managed to dodge it. I would have been contagious for at least a couple of days before getting symptoms.

Myusernameisunique · 19/12/2021 15:34

Day 9 of DC1 isolation and no one else in the household has caught it so far. In Scotland so our current guidelines mean we all have to isolate on a positive result so been together and not went out in all that time. All done various pcrs and lateral flows. No distancing or isolating from each other, small 2 bed house, all sharing a bathroom and DC2 shares a bedroom with DC1. DP and I have had our boosters as well. Just hoping the last pcrs are negative for the 3 of us and we can resume normal
life in the next couple of days!

Aspergirl77 · 19/12/2021 20:28

DH had Covid in February, he was quite unwell but myself and 2 DSs remained Covid free. Youngest DS just had Covid (picked up from school, rampant in his class!!) and finished isolating day before yesterday, everyone else no symptoms or positive LFTs (tested throughout isolation period).
