Has anyone lived with someone covid positive and NOT been infected?

Currently self isolating with DP in a one bedroom flat, but the layout of which makes it essentially a studio apartment.

He tested positive two days ago.

I’m waiting for my PCR result but all of my LFTs so far have been negative.

I’m triple vaccinated but it seems so odd that I haven’t had a positive test yet, given we live together in a flat with terrible ventilation with minimal space.

I work in a patient facing role and the thought of getting a negative test and having to go back to work and potentially infecting someone is making me feel sick. I am genuinely almost hoping that it’s positive just so that I can stay indoors and keep everyone else around me out of harms way.

We are staying apart as much as possible but as I’ve said above it’s almost impossible given the living space.

My mum had Covid at the start of Lockdown 1, my dad (who was 83 at the time), never caught it.

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 18/12/2021 19:21

I've worked with 3 people for a total of 5 days each time. All tested positive, I've not had a sniffle.
Nothing, I even shared a cup with my brother who became ill days later.
Nothing.
No side effects from the vaccines either.

Bagelsandbrie · 18/12/2021 19:23

Dd shared a flat with 5 other people (university). Every single one of them had it but she never got it despite doing 2 lfts a day and one PCR…..! Really odd.

EsmeraldaFudge · 18/12/2021 19:28

Day 7 here with DD and still negative on lft. I have had my booster

BirdyBirdyTweetTweet · 18/12/2021 19:31

Me!

winnieanddaisy · 18/12/2021 19:44

My DD had it 12 months ago . Her DD did not get it nor did her DH who was sleeping with her every night until she was admitted to hospital. This was all pre vaccine . ( she managed to infect me with it even though I had little close contact with her ) .

cheninblanc · 18/12/2021 19:45

Yes twice, both dds had it at different times and my dh and I didn't catch it either time

LadyIckenham · 18/12/2021 19:57

Currently on day 6 of DD's isolation.

The other five of us have yet to catch it.

Am fully expecting to, as she is using my and DH's room during the day (so she can use the TV) and no way am I leaving her alone for the whole day. DH is triple Vaxed though, so may be ok.

There is a part of me that thinks it would be as well to get it now. We can't see family at Christmas due to the isolation period, looks like post Christmas may be mucked up by circuit breaker and I am on holidays so at least won't lose any money (self employed).

Hope you are ok.

gukvguk · 18/12/2021 20:01

Me. DS (8) had it and I didn't distance and was still hugging him etc.

Firenight · 18/12/2021 20:40

Both my kids have covid, at different times, and neither vaxed parent caught it

Itstheprinciple · 18/12/2021 21:22

DD has just finished isolation. Neither DH or I got it. Dh was being a but more cautious around her due to work but I was hugging her etc when when was upset and spending time with her, though I was wearing masks and opening windows.

Hippychicken1 · 18/12/2021 22:53

I slept in the same bed as my other half when I had Covid
Both of us are Double jabbed
Had sex and everything 😂 - bastard didn’t get it 😂

GoldenFondue · 19/12/2021 01:25

Ah, I have to change my answer. Dh and ds1 have both had positive results on my day 6 of isolation. Just one ds to go now.

Armychefbethebest · 19/12/2021 01:31

My 14 year old dd had it and no one else in the house caught it all in the house for 10 days tgtr

frenchiemummy92 · 19/12/2021 04:11

Yes, last October before we had any jabs. DP tested positive on a PCR me & our two DDs both got negative results multiple times in the isolation period. We didn't change anything still slept in the same bed, no isolation from each other.

FakeFruitShoot · 19/12/2021 04:35

In October DD1 and I tested positive asymptomatically on a Sunday night. We'd just all come back (in the car for 4 hours) from a holiday where we had (all 6 of us) been sleeping in a literal caravan for 3 nights with only 2 bedrooms - windows closed etc as obviously chilly. We didn't isolate when back home either and no one else got it.

MonicaGellerBing · 19/12/2021 04:51

My friend and all 3 of her children had it and her DH didn't catch it. They didn't isolate from each other as friend was too poorly to care for kids so her DH had to

Noonoo8589 · 19/12/2021 04:57

I had Covid in October I think from work or at an event with colleagues as we all had it. At the time I was double vaccinated as were colleagues (to my knowledge) - my husband is unvaccinated and didn’t catch it, despite no distancing. My 4 year old also didn’t catch it.

Trinacham · 19/12/2021 06:53

Yeah, everyone I know whose had covid, no family member got it - including my husband when I had covid in August. My sister and my nephew (different household- my brother's son) never passed it on to family either.

MrsBungle · 19/12/2021 07:00

Another example here! My 12yo had Covid and none of the rest of our family caught it even though we didn’t isolate from her at all. I slept in bed with her as she has a heart condition and still didn’t catch it.

festivefuschias · 19/12/2021 07:14

Yes, DD had it and none of us caught it. We didn’t isolate or anything either.

BridgeFarmKefir · 19/12/2021 08:32

Husband and I have had it (Day 8 now) but DD3 has repeatedly tested negative on LFTs and PCRs. Obviously it's been impossible for us to distance from her so it seems to be one of weird things 🤷🏼‍♀️

LalalalalalaLand123 · 19/12/2021 08:49

DC had it but neither DH nor I caught it; no attempts to distance. However that was pre-omicron.

MarshaBradyo · 19/12/2021 08:50

Yes dc positive - no SD ie hugs etc dh and I not positive

Xenia · 19/12/2021 08:52

In 2020 almost everyone of my son's university friends had covid. He lived with one flat mate and she had it. She was not a girl friend but they did almost everything else you can imagine together in a tiny flat and he did not get it (or he got it without symptoms - there were no tests in those early days)
