Has anyone lived with someone covid positive and NOT been infected?

Currently self isolating with DP in a one bedroom flat, but the layout of which makes it essentially a studio apartment.

He tested positive two days ago.

I’m waiting for my PCR result but all of my LFTs so far have been negative.

I’m triple vaccinated but it seems so odd that I haven’t had a positive test yet, given we live together in a flat with terrible ventilation with minimal space.

I work in a patient facing role and the thought of getting a negative test and having to go back to work and potentially infecting someone is making me feel sick. I am genuinely almost hoping that it’s positive just so that I can stay indoors and keep everyone else around me out of harms way.

We are staying apart as much as possible but as I’ve said above it’s almost impossible given the living space.

Day 5/6 for me and nobody else in the household has caught it. DH and I are even still sharing a bed.

supercalifragilistic123 · 18/12/2021 17:33

My DH didn't get it from me. He's double jabbed (so was I!).
We didn't change anything, no distancing at all.
He did 2 pcrs and several LFTs.

It's definitely not a given.

Theforest · 18/12/2021 17:34

Family of 4, 1 parent and child got covid. The other parent and child didn't.

Kept apart as much as possible, but not always.

Cuddlywaterfall · 18/12/2021 17:34

Both DCs and H all had covid the other week. DC1 was sleeping in my bed! I consistently tested negative (LFT and PCRs) and this was before I got my booster. I have no idea how I avoided it, we have all been on top of each other. I must have Super Mum immunity Confused. So basically you have a chance of avoiding it but no idea what the odds are. Just keep wearing the mask, open windows, and hope for the best. Thanks

Remmy123 · 18/12/2021 17:35

My unvaccinated friend didn't pass it on to family (didnt isolate from
Each other)?

gamerchick · 18/12/2021 17:35

My kid got it and neither me or husband caught it. I was a bit shocked tbh.

MistyFrequencies · 18/12/2021 17:36

Children had it. Couldn't isolate. Neither I or husband got it. Both double jabbed.

x2boys · 18/12/2021 17:36

We live in a small two bedroom house one bathroom ,neither myself or my DH or younger son caught it with Ds1 had it in July ,before Omicron though 🤷

Skinnyankles · 18/12/2021 17:36

Family of 5 here. Middle and oldest child covid pos. Middle child was in my bed breathing on me all night as she felt poorly. We decided it was impossible to isolate children so just carried on as normal.

DH, myself and youngest child all negative.

Nikki305 · 18/12/2021 17:36

My kids had it but neither of us parents caught it. I think things are a bit different nowadays with Omicron though

MissKittyFantastico84 · 18/12/2021 17:36

Yes - my husband got a positive result last week and my son and I are fine.

We'd been living together normally for about three days before his POS result.

I'm triple jabbed, for reference.

vdbfamily · 18/12/2021 17:37

I work in an acute hospital and my husband and 2 of our 3 children have all had covid at seperate times and not passed it on. When my daughter had it, we drove home from Scotland to South coast, 5 in a car and no-one else got it!

Filterphobia · 18/12/2021 17:37

Both our children had it at completely separate times, DS2 Dec 2020, no one else caught it and none of us had any vaccinations at that point.
Sept this year and DS1 tested positive, again none of us caught it, both DH and I were double jabbed by that point.
We didn’t isolate them to their rooms as they are too young, still hugged and kissed them as well.
Hope you stay virus free Smile

ParkheadParadise · 18/12/2021 17:39

I didn't isolate myself from dh and dd. They never caught it from me.

OwlBasket · 18/12/2021 17:39

Yes. Twice. None of us vaccinated at the time either.

When DS had Corona we didn’t isolatie from him at all, he was 11 and needs his cuddles. No other family members infected.

DP got it some months later. Isolated at home as well as possible. We only have one loo though. Again no other family members infected.

It’s very, very odd. I’ve certainly know people infected by the most fleeting of contacts.

freesolo · 18/12/2021 17:40

Both my daughters had covid, my youngest was in my face constantly, sneezed on me, slept in my bed, gave me kisses etc and I didn't catch it

earsup · 18/12/2021 17:40

A friend who works in a school is surrounded by hundreds who have had it....she tests twice a day...all types of tests and has never caught it...odd...!

Libertynan · 18/12/2021 17:40

No one in my house has had it however a number of friends have and other members of their household have remained negative.

Hence it's not guaranteed that you'll catch /spread it.

SophieHatterPendragon · 18/12/2021 17:40

I caught it from DS1 but DH and our 2 youngest DC avoided it.

DH and I carried on sharing a bed as he’d already been exposed as much as I had when I got it. We were both double jabbed

steelseries · 18/12/2021 17:41

My 3 year old caught it a few weeks ago. We shared a bed for the whole week and at one point I remember him coughing into my mouth, and I didn't catch it.

Orchid876 · 18/12/2021 17:41

Yes me. I shared a bed with DD when she was ill and I didn’t get it. She’d just had her flu vaccination, we 100% thought she’d had a reaction to that, but checked in the morning on a LFT and it was a really strong positive. We did isolate her as best we would after that, but really, if I was going to get it, I’d have got it then. No-one else in the household did. There’s a theory that some people just don’t shed the virus.

AnnaSW1 · 18/12/2021 17:42

Me

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 18/12/2021 17:42

Yes me, I work in the NHS and have been exposed hundreds of times and had a colleague to stay for a week - I didn't know she had covid, neither did she, no masks and I didn't get it off her. Neither of us were vaccinated at that time. She was staying with me while her house sale went through.
I'm beginning to think I'm immune.

AnnaSW1 · 18/12/2021 17:42

And we were also sharing a bed

Wavypurple · 18/12/2021 17:42

Thank you all so much Smile
