Has anyone lived with someone covid positive and NOT been infected?

Currently self isolating with DP in a one bedroom flat, but the layout of which makes it essentially a studio apartment.

He tested positive two days ago.

I’m waiting for my PCR result but all of my LFTs so far have been negative.

I’m triple vaccinated but it seems so odd that I haven’t had a positive test yet, given we live together in a flat with terrible ventilation with minimal space.

I work in a patient facing role and the thought of getting a negative test and having to go back to work and potentially infecting someone is making me feel sick. I am genuinely almost hoping that it’s positive just so that I can stay indoors and keep everyone else around me out of harms way.

We are staying apart as much as possible but as I’ve said above it’s almost impossible given the living space.

Me and two kids positive, husband never caught it and we didn't change anything (apart from stayed at home of course). All vaccinated.

Tigerwhocameforsupper · 18/12/2021 18:00

I had it. DH and both children didn’t catch it.

rubyslippers · 18/12/2021 18:01

Yep - DH caught it and no one else did
Son had it a month later - mother myself or daughter contracted it
Delta variant

woodlandarchitect · 18/12/2021 18:01

DH and I remained negative while our DC were positive. Not much isolation going on as they’re young and needed kisses and cuddles.

Absolutely amazed that we never tested positive. All LFT’s (We both did one per day) and both PCR’s were negative.

We’re vaccinated

Best of luck @Wavypurple x

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 18/12/2021 18:01

Both children got it. DH and I didn’t even with one poorly child sleeping in our bed with us.

My DCs had covid in January so the Kent variant. One adult and one teenager. I didn't catch it off them.

chipshopElvis · 18/12/2021 18:05

Me, nearly twice. DH had covid November 2021 no o e else caught it. DS tested positive 11 days ago, and DD followed four days later. DH and I still negative, she will be free from isolation on Tuesday. Both kids have coughed and sneezed all over us.

PhilCornwall1 · 18/12/2021 18:06

Not just one, two of them. I'm allegedly CEV with a shot to pieces immune system. Never caught it.

Thanks so much everyone for the responses

Me. My ds had it a few months ago yet me my dh or dd caught it. We didn’t keep him in his room either so I was really surprised that none of us caught it.

Cosmoz · 18/12/2021 18:08

Didn’t catch it meant to say.

Iceskatequeen · 18/12/2021 18:09

My Ds had it, no one else caught it in the house.

Juniper68 · 18/12/2021 18:10

Yes

GrumpyLivesInMyHouseNow · 18/12/2021 18:10

Me and my dd tested positive within 4 days of each other. My dh didn't get covid, we live in a fairly small house so it's not like we isolated away from him

Florin · 18/12/2021 18:11

Ds and I tested positive on Monday. Dh has done LFT at least once a day since and 2 PCR’s since then and still negative. Husband and I share a bed and sleep cuddled up and have even shared drinks so no attempt to isolate at all. He went for his booster today after checking first he was allowed to and the doctor was surprised he hadn’t caught it, said he must have amazing antibodies.

Lotsofpots · 18/12/2021 18:17

Yep. When I had it no one got it (DH and kids) and when he had it none of us got it. We slept apart but beyond that didn't isolate (no kisses etc)

Hello606 · 18/12/2021 18:18

Brother had it and lives with parents, parents didn’t get it

I had it and boyfriend who I live with and share a bed with didn’t get it

Hmmph · 18/12/2021 18:24

My youngest (unvaccinated) child had it and the rest of us didn’t. This was probably Delta though. Omicron is twice as infectious they think.

The briefing notes re Covid for the Government say that for Delta there is about a 10% chance of catching it in a household and for Omicron about a 20% chance.

So even with Omicron you are much more likely to not catch it from someone you live with.

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 18/12/2021 18:27

My friend didn't get it despite her DH and 2 DC having it. This was when the adults had only had 1 jab.

She did say she was constantly cleaning though!

Stuffin · 18/12/2021 18:30

Never isolated from DH and he was coughing a lot. Never got it and tested negative twice.

daisybrown37 · 18/12/2021 18:32

Family of four. Me and 8 year old tested positive, H and eldest negative iPCR and multiple LFT. No isolation at home, so we have mixed normally.

HelloCovid · 18/12/2021 18:35

Not with Omicron but we did with Delta.

Winceybincey · 18/12/2021 18:37

Daughter was positive 10 days ago, she felt rough for a couple of days, had all the symptoms and lost her smell and taste but, we she didn’t isolate within the home, we carried on as normal. It was her birthday so I wasn’t staying away from her. We’ve sat next to each other, touched the same things, she even did my eyebrows for me, lots of things really. I haven’t caught it and I’m still getting negative tests. Hubby’s also been here for the duration and also hasn’t caught and neither have my other 2 kids 🤷🏻‍♀️

Winceybincey · 18/12/2021 18:38

ETA - none of us are vaccinated.

Mokoloko · 18/12/2021 18:39

My youngest tested positive last Monday (now out of isolation) then my eldest caught it 5 days later (his isolation ends Monday so on day 9 currently)
Me and my partner haven't caught it! 3 pcrs and lateral flows every day negative!
