Has anyone lived with someone covid positive and NOT been infected?

Currently self isolating with DP in a one bedroom flat, but the layout of which makes it essentially a studio apartment.

He tested positive two days ago.

I’m waiting for my PCR result but all of my LFTs so far have been negative.

I’m triple vaccinated but it seems so odd that I haven’t had a positive test yet, given we live together in a flat with terrible ventilation with minimal space.

I work in a patient facing role and the thought of getting a negative test and having to go back to work and potentially infecting someone is making me feel sick. I am genuinely almost hoping that it’s positive just so that I can stay indoors and keep everyone else around me out of harms way.

We are staying apart as much as possible but as I’ve said above it’s almost impossible given the living space.

My Dh had it in January neither my DS or I were vaccinated and we didn't get it

allyjay · 18/12/2021 17:43

Family of 6. 1 DC got it, the rest of us didn't.

worriedatthemoment · 18/12/2021 17:46

We didn't get it when my ds had it but he did stay in his room from the time he got a positive lLFT but we had to share bathroom , he just wiped down surfaces after he used etc
Stayed in room window slightly open

I'm on day 6 isolating away from family who all had negative pcrs on Monday. DP has had to go for pcr today as had a suspicious looking lateral flow. Not quite a line but not a blank space either, will be gutted if he has it and his isolation extends then to 15 days!

Sarahlou252 · 18/12/2021 17:48

I'd just had my second jab when dd got it. Decided as she is still young, that if she needed cuddles & sofa movies then so be it, we weren't prepared to try and isolate her from the rest of the family, and none of us caught it from her.

gsaoej · 18/12/2021 17:49

Me, dd and dh all were positive. Ds didn’t catch it. All people all over house.

lumpybumpylooloo · 18/12/2021 17:50

Yep, twice! Each time one of my sons have tested positive and the other three people in house stayed clear, with absolutely no isolation and constant mixing. First time in May and second time at the start of December.

DialsMavis · 18/12/2021 17:50

I didnt catch it from. DH nor did DC (both double jabbed), my friend didnt catch it from her DH nor did her DC (both unjabbed)

BunnyBlanket · 18/12/2021 17:51

My Dd has covid and nobody else in the house got it.

BunnyBlanket · 18/12/2021 17:51

Had*

LizzieSiddal · 18/12/2021 17:51

My DD had Covid last month, her husband didn’t catch it, they have a 13 month old so she wasn’t able to lock herself away. She only had very mild symptoms but did lose her taste and smell.

Sheena99 · 18/12/2021 17:52

My mother caught it on March and was asymptomatic, it was caught because she attends a clinic for dialysis. My dad shared and with her throughout, never caught it, neither did my sister or her two sons who also live there. None of them were vaccinated at the time. Weird.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 18/12/2021 17:53

My son. I had it 8 months old. Single parenting as DH was away serving military. I was breast feeding. Bed sharing. Etc. couped up for 10 days just me and him. He was totally fine.

minipie · 18/12/2021 17:54

Yes twice

DH had it in the summer and DD2 had it a couple of weeks ago. They didn’t isolate

DD1 and I have not had it (according to tests).

Tillsforthrills · 18/12/2021 17:54

Omicron seems to be more contagious.

minipie · 18/12/2021 17:54

To clarify I mean they didn’t isolate from us in the house. They did stay at home.
GoldenOldBoy · 18/12/2021 17:56

This thread is helping me a lot! DD has just tested positive on a lateral flow, myself and ds negative. We all went for pcr tests today so I'm waiting on the results of those. I'm a single mum, no friends and family so no idea what would happen to the dc if I'm hospitalised.

hellosunshineagainx · 18/12/2021 17:56

Day five of me with positive husband and I tested positive today, previously tested negative

Sirzy · 18/12/2021 17:56

My sisters husband and 3 children all tested positive. She didn’t. She was the only one fully boosted so don’t know how much that helped!

EmergencyPoncho · 18/12/2021 17:56

2 x friends and my colleague, the latter in a small flat but they were super careful.

Cheekychops73 · 18/12/2021 17:57

My 7 year old is just out of isolation neither myself , his dad or my CEV brother caught it from him which shocked me as due to him only being 7 he was all over the house, getting cuddles and breathing all over us before & after testing positive. Myself & brother 2 jags & booster & husband 2 jags so I think between them & opening windows & wiping with anti bac a wee bit more than usual we dodged it. Have heard of a few houses like ours with only one child getting it and no one else. Fingers crossed for you.

Tillsforthrills · 18/12/2021 17:58

It needs to be specified whether delta or omicron I think? Confusing the two isn’t accurate.

Geppili · 18/12/2021 17:59

DH had it confirmed, one DS had it unconfirmed neither DS2 nor I got it and we didn't really isolate them in the house.

Geppili · 18/12/2021 17:59

Delta

Bobholll · 18/12/2021 17:59

Yep twice for us. I had it last December & in October and my DH didn’t catch it either time. Neither DD’s caught it second time either. We didn’t even attempt to isolate from each other, the kids are young and frankly, hard work 😂 it’s a team effort!
