How worried are you?

On a scale of 1-10?

I'm triple vaxxed but haven't had Covid yet (lucky me)!

I'd put myself on about a 5 anxiety wise for Delta, a 7/8 for Omicron.

Just don't know who or what to believe on infection risks...

Virus - 0
Government - 10

The lies, the lack of direction, the making it up on the spot to keep some twat in a job he doesn't really want...

TragicallyUnbeyachted · 15/12/2021 17:26

@brogued

Healthy people are not scared of covid anymore.
Of course, 24.4% of the population has at least one underlying condition that puts them at increased risksource, but just so long as the healthy people are happy...
@Waxonwaxoff0

I don't think you get how this works. If we end up with hundreds of thousands a day, the hospitals will be overwhelmed, even if it's incredibly mild in most.
I know how it works. The question asked was how worried you are about catching Covid. And I'm 0.

ZittiEBuoni · 15/12/2021 17:28

0 for catching Covid because I had my booster a fortnight ago.

10 for a new lockdown potentially triggering a relapse of dd2's eating disorder.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 15/12/2021 17:28

@1910username

Those who say they’ve had Delta.

Do you know because you were told? Or are you assuming it because of when you had it??

We all had it at home at the end of September, but I can’t recall us being told what variant it was.

Thanks!

All cases in this country were Delta in September. The dominant strain overtakes the previous strain and kills it off.
Norugratsatall · 15/12/2021 17:28

@1910username at the end of sept the Delta variant was dominant in the UK. So you would have had Delta.

JanisMoplin · 15/12/2021 17:28

Maybe I will downgrade my catching Covid worry to 4-5 as no one else appears to be that worried. Triple vaxxed.

@LifeIsWhat

Covid: 1 Lockdown, Metal health, Societal consequences and such: 10 Long term damage to freedom and democracy: 10 (check out the no vaccine no job thread)
Agree with all of this

DappledOliveGroves

@Papertrail392but why Covid (particularly if mild like Omicron is supposed to be?) Not meaning to have a go but genuinely curious. Why not worry about flu, colds, norovirus? Or anything else that might kill you like cancer or a heart attack?

We're in the middle of a covid pandemic and I'm in the middle of immunotherapy treatment that's why. It might be mild for the majority but for those of us who are CEV there's a very real risk that it would be very serious. I'm fearful of contracting anything that can kill me but obviously covid is a number 1 concern due to the figures. Surely you can understand that? I'd love to live my life without fear of dying but I'm not ready to go! I have a young family that needs me. Fear is your bodies protection mechanism, without it I'd be socialising and mixing without any concern which would result in me catching covid or flu which all have the potential to kill me particularly while I'm immunosuppressed. Fear is not always a bad thing.

Leftbutcameback · 15/12/2021 17:32

I'm a bit confused - I had delta but mild (Oct) which could mean I don't have antibodies (1 in 5 don't), so should I still be testing for 7 days if I had a contact? I was told not to test for 90 days as it could come up positive. I expected an antibody test from gov.uk but it didn't arrive.

The arrogance on this thread is staggering.
In what way?

Aren’t people just saying what they are concerned about

Exactly this!
Ariann · 15/12/2021 17:41

Very worried about the state of the NHS primary care and hospital in my area. A&E is terrible, ambulance for my 88 year old neighbour who had collapsed in his garden took 5 hours to arrive and my GP surgery has closed down with no-one wanting to take it over - the GPs are retiring for good.
Level 10

Topseyt · 15/12/2021 17:46

Covid: 2 (ish)

Lockdown, foolish rules and restrictions, twatty government: 10.

Refrosty · 15/12/2021 17:46

Covid- was maybe 2 or 3, but DM now has it and it's really bad (she's double vaxxed and already had Covid in April 2020). So maybe I'm now a 5. I have young kids so I don't get to be that sick without hassle.

Restrictions- I'm really not sure what to say here because DM works in hospital admin, caught it from someone at work who thought they had a cold (so now nearly everyone has it), this has repercussions on her departments ability to see patients and arrange surgeries. Also lateral flows were negative for two days even though she had symptoms. I can get behind restrictions, I'm prepared to lay low this winter.

BeyondMyWits · 15/12/2021 17:47

The question asked was how worried you are about catching Covid And I'm 0

The question was "How worried are you" posed in the Coronavirus forum... many people have many, many different worries about COVID-19, not all of which relate to catching it.

blueshoes · 15/12/2021 17:47

0 - covid
0 - work
3 - schools and national exams (DD taking A levels next year)
4 - Economy

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 15/12/2021 17:47

There's no right or wrong answer, everyone's situation is different.
No one should be victimised for being unbothered about it , or at the other end of the scale anxious .

DramaLlllama · 15/12/2021 17:48

Getting covid - 1

Restrictions and not being able to see my family/DD not returning to school - 9/10
