"As pressure from virus rises, PM will give national address at 8pm tonight, updating the booster programme - sounds like this will NOT include new restrictions"

Could be resigning.

Holothane · 12/12/2021 18:12

Well he can fuck off for a start.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 18:13

We are the naughty public , we won't obey the great ones , so we need to be nudged by stealth into level five :(
Despite doing all the right things anyway

LolaLouLou · 12/12/2021 18:14

Maybe instead of having slides, he will have photo montage of the multiple Downing Street parties, played to 'last Christmas' and finishing with him leading the congo.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 12/12/2021 18:14

Fuck it.

I've opened the prosecco.

Anyone joining?

@Macaroni46

Ooh maybe term will end early? Schools around here are not due to finish until 21st or even 22nd!
Wow that's late. We're the 17th here. South
mumda · 12/12/2021 18:16

@RedToothBrush

I vote 1 finger for the words 'social distancing' 1 finger for 'take responsibility' Down your drink for 'lockdown'

I think that will suffice.

Oh you're terrible! I like it!
Frazzled2207 · 12/12/2021 18:16

He’ll be telling us to get booster or else….

Perhaps a resignation, but I doubt it

AnnieSnap · 12/12/2021 18:16

@the80sweregreat

Liz Truss just came across well ( only my opinion!) She comes from a left leaning family , which surprised me , and was once at Greenham common too. I've probably got her all wrong , but she seems more competent than Boris , but I am aware that is a very very low bar of course She has teenagers she spoke fondly about and seemed a lot more human than I imagined she would be. I admit I don't know anything much about her voting record or anything.
I agree that all sounds good, but she was completely useless as Justice Secretary (as useless as Johnson as Foreign Secretary). We can’t really have confidence in someone to be competent in running the whole show, when they can’t competently run a department 🤷‍♀️
ParkheadParadise · 12/12/2021 18:16

I'll have a large glass please @Borisjohnsonshairbrush
🥂🥂🥂

PizzaCrust · 12/12/2021 18:16

Also, he wouldn’t just outright say there will be a Christmas lockdown. That gives the population 13 days to ring family members, make plans etc before the cut off. The mixing would still happen, just legally.

It needs to be last minute so that can’t happen. Which is why he won’t announce a lockdown, IMO, until after the 20th of December. When it’s “just enough” time for people who are well off to make plans, but not enough time for the most of us who have work, jobs, costs etc to consider.

Bromley4ever · 12/12/2021 18:17

Sorry posted on the wrong thread. Please ignore everyone!

Whole bottle for "I resign".

If we're playing buzzword bingo-

-jabs in arms
-protect loved ones
-test, test, test (or some new alliterative three word phrase referring to testing)
-protect the NHS (or is that too 2020?l)

My husband will be furious if this happens. Grin He has booked next week off work and had loads to do around the house.
Having he kids under his feet was not part of his plan.

JanglyBeads · 12/12/2021 18:19

Wrong thread @Bromley4ever?!

Lottapianos · 12/12/2021 18:20

'Also, he wouldn’t just outright say there will be a Christmas lockdown.'

He can absolutely fuck off to the far side of fuck with any notion of messing with people's Christmas. I really mean that. The utter state of him. Not that anyone will pay him any mind anyway

reesewithoutaspoon · 12/12/2021 18:20

I kind of hope that he's resigning, but then the thought of one of the other lying shysters becoming PM isn't much better

SpeckledlyHen · 12/12/2021 18:21

@RedToothBrush "The 8pm Sunday Slot is generally the 'its really fucking serious and shit folks' slot, I'll give you that"

Totally agree (yikes..)

Nat6999 · 12/12/2021 18:21

Could it be his resignation? Ds has seen a tweet from Natalie Bennett in the House of Lords that the 1922 Committee have enough letters to put vote of no confidence ballot in to operation.

CorrBlimeyGG · 12/12/2021 18:21

If anyone thinks Liz Truss is even slightly capable, look up her speech on cheese. She's thick as mince.

fournonblondes · 12/12/2021 18:21

@Motorina

So he's just going to witter at us for the sake of hearing his own voice, then?
You do not have to listen 🙄
