Who is going to a busy indoor place this weekend?

I am. To the pub. With colleagues for a meal. I work for the public sector so we don't have anything formal and I've shelled out £25 for my fold. Unless I change my mind. Or test positive on the lateral flow test I've agreed to do before going out.

Anyone else got plans and feeling weird.... For info I'm mid 30s, double jabbed in July....

@MondeoFan

Yes going to see Frozen the musical tomorrow night in London - I have to wear a mask but I'm ok with that. Just me and 6 year old daughter
I went to see that with my six year old a few weeks ago. It was FANTASTIC Grin
Newchallenge · 10/12/2021 22:09

My plans just got cancelled Sad

FruitToast · 10/12/2021 22:17

Not unless you count the local test centre. DD is positive and DS had a positive LFT before bed so another round of PCRs booked for tomorrow. Had to cancel everything booked for the next couple of weekends Xmas Sad.

hivemindneeded · 10/12/2021 22:17

Was supposed to be going to a concert in which DH was singing. But he's had to back out as he has come down with a horrific cold (not Covid according to PCR) and can't sing without coughing. Drinks on Monday with a fairly big crowd. I'll go. We'll probably be outside under heaters, and we're all double jabbed.

RestingStitchFace · 10/12/2021 22:19

Taking DS to his swimming lesson. Bit conflicted about it to be honest...

Sprostongreen21 · 10/12/2021 22:21

Should of been at a gig but it’s been cancelled a few bands have announced similar due to members or tour staff coming down with covid.

So staying local with a meal and drinks in a couple of bars. Although it was tricky getting a table for food. Everywhere was busy and booked up. So some people still happy to be out.

I work on a ward and am expecting things to be even more shitty than they’ve been so making the most of the weekend. Next will be a quiet one prior to Xmas.

Think our big family meal will be cancelled over the festive period as a large table booked and can see restrictions on numbers coming back.

delilahbucket · 10/12/2021 22:28

Yes, friends birthday night out tomorrow. If we are allowed to do it, I'm going to. I've missed out on enough socialising and as someone who works alone most of the time, I need the interaction. I've got various meals out booked over the next two weeks and panto on Christmas Eve which is carried over from last year. I think cancelling anything will actually break me, and this is from someone who postponed their wedding twice.

milesmorals · 10/12/2021 22:39

Indoor concert for under-5s on Saturday, swimming at leisure centre, toddler and parent gym class, and an indoor Christmas concert on Sunday. Went to a circus show and Santa visit today. All the adults here have had boosters. Missed out on a lot of events last year which got cancelled so my attitude is to attend things whenever we've been allowed, so my DD can have a bit of a normal Christmas.

Silverswirl · 10/12/2021 22:42

Me- packed swimming pool.
Couldn’t give a shiny shit. Won’t be testing or isolating in any form.

bellamountain · 10/12/2021 22:44

I think people are so desperate for a normal Christmas with family that they will cancel many busy events leading up to Christmas. Not because they are scared of the virus, just because they don't want to be in isolation. Providing things stay open, I can see places in between Christmas and new year being very busy.

OhMyCrump · 10/12/2021 22:49

I'm going out, city centre restaurant and bars. 40, triple jabbed, no one vulnerable in my family.

NowEvenBetter · 10/12/2021 22:54

‘Soft play Christmas party’
I honestly cannot imagine a worse thing to do. 🤮🤮🤮 (apart from y’know, genuinely traumatic life events)

Newmum738 · 10/12/2021 22:56

Swimming tomorrow and pantomime on Sunday. Most things are normal. The only thing that isn't normal or allowed now is going to the office!

timtam23 · 10/12/2021 22:59

We are having a morning out as a family to give DC2 a birthday treat, they have struggled a bit with anxiety since the start of this school year and last year we couldn't do anything special for their birthday because we were Tier 3 and so many places were closed. So we want to give them and their sibling a treat this weekend in case we end up with more restrictions/closures before Christmas

ParkheadParadise · 10/12/2021 23:02

Breakfast with Santa in the morning 🎅🎅
Going out tomorrow night with 6 friends (3 couples) for a Christmas night out.
I'm going to a Christmas party night on Tuesday.

MojoJojo71 · 10/12/2021 23:04

Me!

DD and I will be at Blackpool winter gardens for a cheerleading competition. They have practiced so bloody hard for this there was no way we weren’t coming

Neena86 · 10/12/2021 23:22

Kind of 😅 I'm in work all weekend at a supermarket and as you can imagine it's gonna be busy. I'll be masked up and I'm double jabbed so wish me luck for the weekend/pre crimbo rush

shinynewapple21 · 11/12/2021 00:21

Meal in a pub tomorrow evening and concert in a large arena next Friday . I hope!

madisonbridges · 11/12/2021 00:28

I am vaxxed, I'm boostered, I'm flu jabbed. And I am going out. Meal with family at the pub this weekend. Party during next week. Meal with friends the week after. I'm careful with masking and sanitising at all other times so I'm going to have a good Christmas. And if I end up isolating, well I've got an electric blanket, my what's on TV guide, a tin of quality street and my 55" tv. I'll just have to suffer through it!

madisonbridges · 11/12/2021 00:31

Hope you stay well. I really appreciate everything you've done for us over the past two years. Have a good singalong to those Christmas songs (they must be driving you mad by now! 😂)
Babyroobs · 11/12/2021 00:35

We have a Christmas meal in a pub booked tomorrow. I had booster last week, dh had his a few weeks ago, he is CEV. I'm feeling very anxious about going but this is our only Christmas social event. After tomorrow I plan to avoid anywhere except to do Christmas food shopping.

PickAChew · 11/12/2021 00:38

I am. I'm getting my booster.

When you say you won't be testing or isolating? You mean you'll carry on going to everything and visiting people even if you have symptoms??
RumHoney · 11/12/2021 07:59

I had two potential Christmas parties this weekend. One is this evening in a bar with music and drunkenness, the other is a pub lunch for 30-40 people tomorrow. I'm doing the lunch but i'm not going tonight, then that's it until Christmas Eve. Skipping tonight is also because I had my booster yesterday and wasn't sure how I'd feel.

ZenNudist · 11/12/2021 08:00

Me! Theatre, lowry on Manchester. Went last week too. It's all good.
