I am. To the pub. With colleagues for a meal. I work for the public sector so we don't have anything formal and I've shelled out £25 for my fold. Unless I change my mind. Or test positive on the lateral flow test I've agreed to do before going out.

Anyone else got plans and feeling weird.... For info I'm mid 30s, double jabbed in July....

I'm going out for a meal tomorrow and to the cinema on Tuesday. I'd go to anything though with zero concern, I'm triple jabbed and had COVID in October

starrynight19 · 10/12/2021 20:57

Me out for a meal tom eve with friends and taking dc out for the day on Sunday maybe Christmas markets and food.
Dd just over covid , but it’s rife in their schools and mine just having to get on with it.

Bobholll · 10/12/2021 20:58

Yep. Softplay Christmas Party tomorrow with the kids. And seeing Santa on Sunday at what I imagine will be a packed garden centre. Also got the school Christmas Fayre tomorrow that we’ll try squeeze in!

That’s if DD1 hasn’t spread her vomiting bug to everyone 🥴 its been nearly 48 hours but I still don’t trust it’s not gonna hit one of us!

AuntieStella · 10/12/2021 20:59

No, but that's because nothing was planned, not because anyone's been cancelling.

But DD has had two evenings of babysitting cancelled , so I think people are reining in

What a lovely post mrsskylerwhite (fab name too!) I have 2 young adult children and I can see the serious effects the last 2 years has had on them and their friends. I see so many posts online that 'young ones are resilient' 'they'll survive' etc and it makes me sad that people aren't understanding the long term effects on their mental health.

vickyc90 · 10/12/2021 21:00

We are if we feel up to it all have stinking colds at the minute. We are carrying on as normal the people we are spending Xmas with have all had COVID. We will LF before we go out on the 27th with friends but imagine it will be clear by then regardless as double vaccinated

firstimemamma · 10/12/2021 21:02

Me. Softplay - pretty much the germiest place on earth! I never stopped living my life.

MajorCarolDanvers · 10/12/2021 21:08

Football and cinema this weekend and pantomime next week.

DSGR · 10/12/2021 21:11

Me. Busy restaurant tomorrow, dinner out next week. Double jabbed and already had the virus . Will get booster when eligible

Crunchymum · 10/12/2021 21:22

Kids 4th birthday party tomorrow, family lunch (10 adults and about the same number of kids) on Sunday.

Getting my booster on Monday.

Off the theatre Tuesday and seeing a nativity play on Wednesday. Rounded up with an opticians appointment at the end of the week for 3yo and roofers coming in to fix a leak. Also have dinner with 5 friends next weekend.

Ploughing on but expect things to start being cancelled / people pulling out of theatre and dinner next week.

fakereview · 10/12/2021 21:24

I didn't have any plans for this weekend but went to a work Christmas do on Tuesday.

However, the other work Christmas do I'd been invited to next Thursday has been cancelled.

EileenGC · 10/12/2021 21:26

Church and a concert this weekend, but everyone will be masked and vaccinated, I’m not in the UK. 20’s, healthy, negative as of last night, soon-to-be triple jabbed… I’m living normally unless they stop me from doing so! Next week is even busier, and it includes a trip abroad and some flights. I can’t wait.

rooarsome · 10/12/2021 21:27

Sadly not as my daughter has covid 🤦🏼‍♀️ we had planned to see a play and visit Santa

ufucoffee · 10/12/2021 21:32

I'm out in a bar at the moment, Doing the same tomorrow night. My city is really busy. Great to see so many people enjoying out themselves.

VaccineSticker · 10/12/2021 21:32

Nope not me.
Everyone I know is being careful as they don’t want to end up isolating over Xmas. Going down the pub can wait.

womaninatightspot · 10/12/2021 21:35

I'm going to the panto tomorrow...

whittingtonmum · 10/12/2021 21:39

I am definitely limiting social contact. Have cancelled going to a house party tomorrow night, will try and get a booster tomorrow morning at a walk in and are only proceeding to see friends one on one or in a family unit mainly at my house when this is already in the diary. Not organising anything new or going anywhere else. I do go to my yoga class still. Kids are having play dates with classmates as they are seeing them in school anyway. The highly infections nature of Omnicron really is something so if I can contribute to not accelarate the spread so more people can have boosters then I'll do my bit. Looks like there are not many out there who think like me....

paranoidnamechanger · 10/12/2021 21:40

Meal with friends in a restaurant tomorrow, then West Side Story in Sunday. Nothing’s going to stop me living my life the way I see fit to. Even if infection numbers were much higher I’d still be bloody going.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 10/12/2021 21:46

Yes I'm going to a pub with a couple of friends tomorrow. We're all double jabbed and I had covid (felt absolutely shit for a couple of weeks) a couple of months ago after DD brought it home from school.

If I was going to be mixing with vulnerable people over Xmas I might be a bit more cautious but since it'll just be me, DH and DD I'm willing to take the risk. And I agree that the biggest risk is still probably DD bringing it home again from school!

Whitefire · 10/12/2021 21:49

Going shopping tomorrow, indoor shopping centre.

I honestly don't care, no plans for Christmas and I'm expected in work on Monday so pretty pointless whatever I do or don't do.

WOTW · 10/12/2021 21:54

Tomorrow - An event at our church.
To church on Sunday!
Next week - I lead a Toddler group at church and that's usually quite busy!

Church life is busy and we see a lot of people throughout the week.

Ginger1982 · 10/12/2021 21:59

We were carrying on as normal, but DH tested positive on Monday, DS (4) on Tuesday and because of the new rules in Scotland, I have to isolate too despite being double jabbed and having a negative PCR. Praying I don't catch it in the next week as desperate for a 'normal' Christmas Day. DS has had to miss all his lovely nursery Christmas events so I'm pretty upset. All our social events from now to Christmas, even once isolation is past, are not happening.

Nomorefuckstogive · 10/12/2021 22:00

Me. Evening out tomorrow. I’m triple jabbed and had Covid end of Sept., so hope I’ll be OK.

BillyAndTheSillies · 10/12/2021 22:00

DH was going to take DS1 away for a car event but it's been cancelled.

Considered taking DS2 to soft play but the close contact isolation really puts me off.

Will go to mass on Sunday and take eldest DS to the cinema - our local one is always empty.

Stuck between wanting to be normal and not wanting to catch it again before I have surgery in January. I've had it twice and had three vaccines (immunosuppressed) so my odds would be wild but you never know.

HeronLanyon · 10/12/2021 22:06

Being extremely careful. Vulnerable family members and I do want to see them without risk to them over Christmas. Numbers here are awful and I don’t want to get it myself either.
