@vera99

WFH if you can, but you can still photocopy your arse if you get a test first. Plan B is as shit as all their other useless fucking plans. His head shaking at questions shows this cunts arrogance
About sums it up.

2 more weeks of school and Omicron doubling every 2-3 days.

Great stuff. Tempted to pull DS out now TBH.

PAFMO · 08/12/2021 19:01

@withlotsoflove
The number of people who medically cannot be vaccinated is so absolutely infinitesimally tiny, that it would make very little difference to the % of vaccinated people if those people were not vaccinated (iyswim)
Tests and trials have shown that 98% of severely allergic (generally) people have had no reactions of note to any Covid vaccine (for example)
In other countries where vaccines are mandatory, that tiny number of people obviously are exempted and do tests.

@the80sweregreat

Not everyone can work from home though What about these people ? ..
The middle classes are the chosen ones
hygtt · 08/12/2021 19:02

Don't go to work but do go to the works party...

It doesn't make sense plus most people who can wfh have been doing it in part anyway so what's the actual
point of plan B?

rrhuth · 08/12/2021 19:02

@JingleJangler

Doubling time of two days = 90000 cases of Omicron in two weeks time. And they're doing fuck all to stop it

It cannot be stopped it is far too transmissable. Why can people not get this into their thick heads?

It can be slowed down to prevent the collapse of the healthcare system in January. Why can people not get this into their thick heads?
Octavia174 · 08/12/2021 19:03

Perhaps. I think the more concerning problem is the number of unvaccinated people in hospitals. There’s no incentive to get jabbed

The incentive is to stay out of hospital or the ground surely?

I find it amazing that people will fly and trust the science on plane design without question but wont take a vaccine that may save their lives based on Dave down the pub or a FB post.

They then go into hospital and are hopefully saved by the same medical science they rubbished early on.

TheVampiresWife · 08/12/2021 19:03

I remember when your mob shat on anyone who dared mention that we may reach 100000 cases eventually

The word 'eventually' wasn't used. A definite timescale was given instead - first, by June, then by July, then by August... Then it didn't happen.

And for the love of God stop it with the 'your lot'/sides stuff already. It helps nobody.

herecomesthsun · 08/12/2021 19:03

@the80sweregreat

Someone mentioned that Boris had a party , I thought he looked a bit worried about that one ! Come on Dominic , your country needs to you to speed up this resignation soon !! .. we know you know !
cue a video from someone's phone of the actual party with Boris there...

& also the numbers came from scientists close to the government and were used by Government ministers...

No ‘eventually’ and agree

Plus all the joking about lockdown draw prizes I don’t think people get how damaging they are. Not a work place joke.

It can be slowed down to prevent the collapse of the healthcare system in January. Why can people not get this into their thick heads?

Only a full on LD would do that, such as Austria had to do.

these restrictions make zero difference, i can work from home and then go down to a packed pub etc with no restriction.

the NHS is already collapsed.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/12/2021 19:05

Anti vaxers need to be restricted in where they are allowed to go, and the rest of us to be free to live a more normal life

You might want to think this through a bit further, puffin. Given the reported demographics of vaccine refusal I've worried from the beginning about how this could impact those who are already marginalised

The idea may sound attractive in theory, but will it seem so when the howls of "discrimination" start?

Nothinbut · 08/12/2021 19:06

One of my friends said she won't have the jab as she doesn't trust Boris. I'll be honest I am not sure he sat there developing it himself.

I agree with the post you've quoted. I don't support mandatory vaccination in Austria style, but with rights come responsibilities.

I work with two unvaccinated people in their 20s who have no known underlying conditions. They think they’ll be fine if they get Covid and I’m sure there’s millions more like them in the UK.
AutumnAlmanack · 08/12/2021 19:08

How depressing was that? I admit I hid away and cried for everything that was and will never be again.

@TheVampiresWife

There's your man guys,

www.ft.com/content/08577e07-faeb-4cd2-96ed-567151b539f6

Health secretary Sajid Javid has warned that UK daily Covid-19 cases could rocket to a record 100,000 after restrictions are lifted, warning that the country is about to enter “uncharted territory”.
Cyrilgoggin · 08/12/2021 19:11

Why are some of you reacting so badly to this? It's a genuine question. Some more measures, like more mask wearing and wfh if you can. Seems sensible to me? Not the end of the world?

vera99 · 08/12/2021 19:11

Not back to square one more 2 steps forward one step backwards. The looming cloud is that with a relatively unvaccinated world new variant can and will arise that will push back a much more risk-averse developed world time after time. I had hoped with delta and max vaxxing we were on the road out of Dodge now but it's looking like the Beatle's sang it's a long and winding road.

SSOYS · 08/12/2021 19:11

@PurpleDaisies Thank you.

StellaGibson118 · 08/12/2021 19:11

@Bouledeneige

I don't understand why people are raging? Who are you angry with? A virus?

Work from home if you can, masks in more places and vaccine passes for large venues. Its not full lockdown. Omicron appears currently to be a milder variant but its yet to hit the older generation and those most vulnerable.

We knew there was unlikely to be just one wave of covid - this could go on for some time. I personally think we will need to start seeing this as flu but I'm isolating for 10 days on my own having tested positive - and I wouldn't dream of risking giving my 92 yr old Dad covid. I've had to cancel going to a family funeral today and lots of other things.

If you think this will be the only set of new rules this month then you've learnt nothing so far

He would have enjoyed dressing up in a “my first scientist” outfit. He seems to have a bit of a love for cosplay..,
