Welcome to the DATA thread.

Our preference is for actual, data driven and analytical contributions.
Please try to keep discussion focused on these

Princess what do you mean? Separating from which part?

mrshoho · 12/12/2021 18:02

It'll go through as Labour will support it. There's the die hard Tory few who will not vote or vote against but they won't make a difference.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 18:03

Yes it will likely go through as said

But iirc about 60 we’re going to oppose

I wonder if number will reduce after last few days

JanglyBeads · 12/12/2021 18:16

They’ve separated out the vote on vaccine passports, daily LFTs to replace iso for omicron contacts, and the other new rules. So that they can guarantee getting most of it through.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 18:17

Oh ok

Good actually

Summerofcontent · 12/12/2021 18:20

@AnyFucker

Maybe he is resigning 😑
Or maybe he's hosting a national quizGrin
boys3 · 12/12/2021 18:22

I'll post the graph when it allows me.

7 day moving average (cases. not rate) in London was 3818 to 15th November, as at 9th December 7279 , with just a two day lag (eg 10th December) already higher again at 7396

The figures for the rest of England just under 29,000 on15/11 moving to just over 34,000 with a three day lag

Perihelion · 12/12/2021 19:10

Scotland is back to 10 self isolation for all household contacts of any positive cases.
I wonder if there will also be an announcement about 12-15 year olds getting a second vaccine? Bit late...

Perihelion · 12/12/2021 19:13

4002 positive cases reported in Scotland today, so on the way up again.

Quarantino · 12/12/2021 19:13

@MarshaBradyo

5 minutes?

It’ll just be new level

Although I’m now thinking what else you could address bomb the nation with in 5 minutes

Another baby, perhaps?
boys3 · 12/12/2021 19:28

here's that seven day moving average graph. London is plotted against the secondary y-axis

sirfredfredgeorge · 12/12/2021 20:05

Thanks - and really well done boys for not squashing either of the axes!

It's clear omicron is growing faster than what is likely delta elsewhere, but it's not 2 day doubling faster.

Going to be interesting to see how this moves, as the data for the days is beginning to look like it's hitting the second inflection point in Boys graph
epiforecasts.io/covid/posts/subnational/united-kingdom/london/
It should begin to increase to more omicron dominant spread.

tootyfruitypickle · 12/12/2021 20:09

BBC saying they have to vaccinated a million a day to reach the target!

sirfredfredgeorge · 12/12/2021 20:11

BBC saying they have to vaccinated a million a day to reach the target

The chance of getting that level of booster take up is pretty slim surely? And has the rule been changed about 12 weeks after having covid for having a booster due to the increased risk changed?

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 20:12

Tf for that

I can deal with a booster message

Piggywaspushed · 12/12/2021 20:14

I was wondering that fred.

Regulus · 12/12/2021 20:20

@MarshaBradyo

Tf for that

I can deal with a booster message

Can you?

Dead cat bounce is what I think.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 20:21

God yeah I was worried it was going to be harsher restrictions

Even though it was unlikely

I always get nervy. Esp if on a Sunday night public address scenario

tootyfruitypickle · 12/12/2021 20:23

Isn't it a month for adults (booster after covid). That's how long I waited ! Kids have to wait 3 months

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 20:26

And also it makes me feel like we’re going for booster plus wave scenario rather than getting closer to lockdown

It’s that which I really don’t want to hear

herecomesthsun · 12/12/2021 21:16

So, if people don't go to get their boosters fast enough, would it then alas be their fault if we had to lock down?

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 21:32

I doubt it.

It’s more get your booster - hopefully people will

And prepare for big wave / numbers

Firefliess · 12/12/2021 22:17

Not much use opening up to over 18s if you don't actually increase the capacity to deliver the jabs though is there? Where I live only 20% if people have boosters (half national average), no walk ins at all, and noone can book anything earlier than January (including 40+ people). And our covid cases are unsurprisingly rocketing

boys3 · 12/12/2021 22:38

Following on from lonely's link to the CP thread, for which the omissions are possibly more interesting than the content.

Growth in London, from the gender data files, and as highlighted by a twitter thread someone (jangly ?) posted a day or so ago. Based on the seven day cases as at 9th December compared with those to 29th November.

As CP and earlier threads have flagged rapid growth - with London's rate of increase double that of any other region - for the 20-29s.

This therefore is the 20-24s percentage change in that period; plus actual number of cases that increase represents in the table.
